when the CPU does this, you can counter with mindbenders, which is hilarious. They'll just march shields after shield towards your mindbender with no support.
im playing xin xi in a random 4 player game and ive had to employ the defenders. im currently fighting off everyone(they all are mainly attacking me). im have some just sitting there near the enemy cities clogging up movement

Honestly if Cymanti started with a warrior rather than a shaman they would be a lot more balanced.
Also for xinxi waiting a bit to get swordsman is more worth it.
