I wouldn't be surprised if I saw this in a museum really. It's such an iconic American car even if it is a bit eccentric in concept.... But I love it, I really do. Another excellent video. Just a Great idea to upload this. Thank you kindly sah.
I always tried to figure out why the Imperials didn’t sell as well as the Cadillac. Hindsight is 20/20 and maybe people these days would appreciate the Imperial more than a Cadillac. Unfortunately back then, I think people just looked at the appearance that a Cadillac made. (during that era of the Lincoln obviously made a statement as well ) The Imperial was a very special car and I’m guessing Chrysler put a lot of effort into it. Unfortunately, I think human nature just looks at appearance only they don’t really pay attention to details.
It’s interesting that a car of this vintage has a right-side mirror-there was a time when even massive vehicles only had a mirror on the driver’s side, even though a mirror on the right would contribute to safety! But even though there is a mirror (kudos to Chrysler Corp for that), I doubt that the driver could use it if the front seat passenger were riding backward. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If a '68 Imperial isn't rare enough, a Mobile Director model is really one of kind. Never understood why they weren't offered in the four door sedans as those would be more of a limousine and the model a dude who had a chauffeur might own. A beautiful automobile that was ruined with those stupid flags.
@@samspace81 Ten four. I guess a military dude who did well enough to afford a $7,000 Imperial can put whatever he wants to on the fenders. As much as I loved the '67 & '68 models (tail lights were badass) the fuselage body 1969 Imperials were awesome. I once knew this weirdo who had a floating headlights 1963 convertible that he occasionally let me use . He was an asshole with that car being his only redemption.
@@tracy4good I liked them all but you are correct about the ‘69 (through’73). They had a simpler, understated elegance; they were less ornamented and made one smooth architectural statement. The slab sided ‘67’s and ‘68’s were beautiful and stately, however.

It's called "Mobile Director," and this is one beautiful, well-kept Imperial. Sure hope it finds a good home.
I've never seen one like that before, has to be extremely rare. Very cool,

Very classy,yet conservative Chrysler.

чумавой аппарат. жаль что у нас в России, не когда не будет таких потрясных автомобилей, не умеют их у нас делать.
qu'elle belle voiture de Marc pelchat
Question...Do you get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt if you are facing towards the rear? 🤔🤣🤣
Officer discretion, the Police officer lol

Wonderful car, but you should NOT have the Flags, unless you are chauffeuring a dignitary. Doing so is against proper flag protocol.
In a real America, everyman is a dignitary!
Improper and derogatory use of the flag(s).
Not least of which is that they will soon rip to pieces being driven that fast.
