    Although I had a different type of tumor, it was the size of a baseball on my left frontal lobe. I became incoherent this past Christmas Eve, mri revealed the mass and had a complete resection two days later. Similar to Logan, I asked my neuro-oncologist in Boston if there was anything I could do nutrition/lifestyle wise to help myself out. Her reply was “no, for what you have, it doesn’t really matter, just eat what you like.” I left that appointment disappointed but I took it upon myself to begin researching. I focus on nutrient dense foods, low carbs, no added sugars or processed foods, intermittent fasting, gym daily and prioritizing sleep. I just had my second mri in June and it looks great. Just doing what I can to give my immune system the best chance. Great discussion between you and Logan.

      So was my mom. She was 77. She refused chemo and radiation, and surgery was not an option. She lived about nine months after diagnosis. She ate what we used to think of as a healthy diet. She received hyperbolic oxygen therapy which slowed the tumor growth but because it didn't stop it completely the prescribing doctors would not extend the prescription. I wish we had known about keto/carnivore then. My dad and sister and I took care of her at home. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. That last 48 hours was soul crushing. The last thing she was able to say was "I love you Mart, I love you Mart."

    I remember listening to an Italian doctor say that cancer is the body' inability to rid of the junk(cancerous) cell. He said we all have cancer cells but in healthy people their body is able to rid of the old(caner) cell and replace it with new ones. In unhealthy people, their body is unable to replace that cancer cell, thus, it keeps spreading. Cutting off the cancer doesn't fix the problem if we continue to eat the same junk way. Also, I think our mind and thoughts plays a massive role in our healing.

    From Fort Lauderale, Florida:
    The Polio Virus trials are being conducted at Duke Brain Tumor Center .
    In 2003 I was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma Grade III. After a resection (left parietal) I did six weeks of radiation and 14 months of Temodar and then a trial of high doses of Celebrex and tamoxifen.
    At the time I was told that if I did all of this, I probably had one to three years to live. I had two teenagers at the time and did not want to give up so I went on with my life with a positive attitude and monitored what was going on in the brain tumor world. I came across a book written by Dr. Bosworth titled ‘Any way you can’ and began a ketogenic diet.
    As I get older somethings have intensified like my right side is weaker than my left side. It is obvious when I lift weights or I stumble going up stairs. I am thinking about carnivore and will update if/when I do. I was one of those with a ‘sweet tooth’ and preferred dessert versus the meal. I have cut way back on stevia and the next step is carnivore even though I really do not like meat. With a lot of butter on the steak, I know that I can do it.

    • @Ariannaishun

      I started carnivore 6 months ago with no ailments or discernable problems...other than post menopausal thinning hair and slow to shift weight. To my bow was the string of being fully cogniscent of all the issues with Big Pharma and Big Farm and having already eliminated my sweet preferences. Carnivore became my choice of food lifestyle the instant I grasped that it was not just for bodybuilders or the chronically ill but was the pathway I had been looking for to keep away from Rockefeller medicine purveyors as I progress from 60s onwards.
      I went cold turkey the next day.
      How about just giving yourself a month to trial it. From the interviews I have heard by the chronically ill it seems that metabolic changes are put into effect immediately by the body so a month ought provide a good block of time in which to judge results.
      I would also recommend Lisa Weideman (dental dr I think) who is extremely open about her sweet addiction and how she addresses this weakness even having been carnivore for many years.
      Good luck

Steer clear of sugar ( plant based foods!) I had a sweet tooth before carnivore 10 months ago- but as soon as I found out how it truly damages the human body I no longer have had any cravings for it! It’s just not worth it!

This is fascinating to me, and I watched this video as I have been on the carnivore diet for a month now. I am researching more and more every week to try to get the word out for people that could benefit from it (which is pretty much most people on the planet). I will continue to direct anyone and everyone to Dr. Chaffee's and Dr. Ken Berry's videos (among others) so that they can treat themselves through diet for conditions such as migraine headaches, inflammation, obesity, depression, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and now GBM to name a few. I will absolutely be bringing this up with all of the neurosurgeons that I get a chance to work with whether local or locum. Who knows?...maybe we can effect change on a global scale by shouting this good news loud and long enough that more and more laypeople and doctors will have to listen! :) Thanks again to Logan and to Dr. Chaffee.

      @@anthonychaffeemd Thank you, Dr. Chaffee, for your kind response. My mom drastically lost weight last year, was prescribed weight-gain drinks, then was diagnosed with liver cancer in October. She lay in the hospital for a month, then was discharged and told the cancer was "inoperable" and that she had 6-9 months to live. The "dietary approach" recommended by her cancer "specialist" was just eat as normally but add chocolate sweets (the ones that are in the chocolate boxes) and drink sweet Georgian red wine to gain weight (as if the loss of the weight were the real problem, not the cancer!). She has no care from a cancer specialist, just the occasional home visit from her local family doctor. Basically, they're just waiting for her to die. I've tried to tell her to cut out carbs, told her of the cancer recovery success stories on the carnivore diet, but she won't listen to me. I'm afraid she is very much from the stubborn, conformist "Soviet generation" here in Russia, for whom anybody in authority naturally knew better. I'm sorry to chatter on for so long. This is such a testimony to how much food affects our bodies. As far as the polio treatment, everyone except the Dr who was part of that trial ended up passing away. I stand firm on food treatment. There's way too many people out there who have beaten cancer by choosing either keto or carnivore. I pray that someday soon, the health-care system will start doing what's right and start making the change to pushing a healthy low/no carbs and sugar diet instead of being bought off and pushing meds that have worse side effects than what you're trying to treat. Thank you both for sharing this with the world. If just one person watches this and has the same results, to me, it's all worth it!

      I'm just curious how they inject a polio virus into someone, when no virus has ever been isolated and characterised on its own. Virologists create cell cultures, which is the opposite of isolation: to a body fluid they add monkey kidney cells (brand name: Vero), nephrotoxic antibiotics, take away nutrients etc. and when the cells die, they say they died because of viruses, but they never managed to separate any out. Just read the methodology section of any study which has isolation in its title. Also, they don't use controls, i.e. don't do cell cultures without the body fluid, which supposed to have the viruses in it. 🤷‍♀

    I can't remember where I saw it, but there is a story of a teenage girl who ate nothing but romaine lettuce for several months (i want to say it was 6?) and it put her glioblastoma diagnosis into remission. I'm pretty sure she made it past the 5yr mark, not sure about magic number 10.
    This was one of the first things I ever saw that lead me to draw a connection between fasting/keto and cancer... This was ages ago, but it has always stuck with me.
    The brain is such a metabolically dependent, fast-moving biochemical environment. It does not surprise me that the response to fasting, ketogenesis, and the like, are so positive for so many brain diseases- a glio being, by far the most pernicious.
    I would like to see keto take on pancreatic cancer, next. I wonder if those death sentence cancer diagnoses are all similar, in the sense that theyre metabolically driven and can be solved the same way.
    No cancer here, just raging autoimmune disease. I'm back on carnivore for another 6mo... To possibly a year this time if I can avoid developing another meat aversion, and actually get some sleep! It is the only thing that works.

My condition is labeled severe but I know that inflammation is key for me since on some days I can walk a mile and other days I struggle to walk 100 ft., I've pretty much given up with my doctors who basically just watch people in my condition slowly die and prescribe different inhalers that do nothing.

    Glioblastomas do not have a 1-10 year life expectancy. My guess is Logan has an IDH1 glioma, probably an AA3. These eventually become IDH1 glioblastomas. But I wonder if they are not more responsive to keto diets. These are aggressive but can be kept away for up to 10 years, with standard treatment. I am diagnosed with an AA3. I opted out of radiation and chemo, but I did choose a therapeutic keto diet for a number of months and I still go keto for half the year. I’m 1.5 years beyond life expectancy, especially since I didn’t use chemo or radiation. But they do say I have a recurrence right now, so I’m thinking of going high fat carnivore. My first resection was by a world renowned surgeon and he said we got out 99%. He said they never say 100% for the reasons Dr. Chaffee said.

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  Год назад +5

      I'm so glad that you're doing so well and came onto keto to help your situation. I think that high fat carnivore, and focusing on lowering your GKI under 2, or even under 1, with a combo of Carnivore and fasting will work very good well as far as diet goes.
      As to Logan, he was diagnosed with an actual GBM, and that's the point, you're not supposed to live nearly as long as he has, which is why this is a unique example. But I have 2 other interviews with l even longer term survivors with confirmed GBM, Andrew Scarborough and Pablo Kelly, where Pablo's case has even been published as a case report by Dr Seyfried, as an IDH-mutant, and Andrew was the most aggressive with an unmethylated IDH-wild type GBM, and he is a full on 10 year survivor with no sign of disease on MRI now. You should check those interviews out of you haven't already.
      To your point though, different cancers require different amounts of glucose and glutamine to run. Low grade gliomas are much more glycolytic than high grade like GBM, and so keto works even better with them. But, keto/carnivore and fasting still help with GBM as well.

That would really put carnivore to the test with those conditions as well! If carnivore is shrinking cancer it may heal their brain conditions! Such good actors so I hate to see their plant based diets ruin all that. They are desperate to heal.

There is also a researcher at either UCLA or USC, I don't remember which, that was doing research on fasting and cancer treatments. What he found is the treatments could be more aggressive with fewer side effects. I would love to hear more people talking about this in addition to adjusting their eating habits.

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  Год назад +7

      That's a very difficult situation to be in, and I'm very sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time with it.
      There are no specific studies with carnivore and dialysis that I'm aware of, but there are plenty of studies showing improvement in kidney function with increased protein consumption. These are in people not on dialysis of course.
      However, there are countless examples of people improving their kidney function on a carnivore diet, even coming back from stage 4 kidney failure, and there are anecdotal examples (3 that I know of) where people have been able to come off dialysis after 9 months to a year on a carnivore diet. It really depends on what was causing the kidney failure in the first place though of course, as not everything is from diet.
      You need to do what's right for you though, and see how it makes you feel. If reading a ton of meat is a problem, eating less is ok as long as you don't get too skinny. You can do periods of fasting as well if that helps.
      Either way, it can't make things worse as you already have lost function, and it will improve your health in many other ways long term. Good luck with it, I hope you feel better soon
