  • Sermon Overview
    Scripture Passage: 1 John 5:13
God wants salvation to be explained simply, because it is His desire that anyone can understand and obtain it.
1 John 5:13 says, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
Salvation is a relationship with God that pardons us from our sins. By salvation, we have peace with God and power over sin. We are given His presence through the Holy Spirit, and through the process of sanctification, we will be made perfect in God’s sight.
In order to understand how salvation saves us and makes us perfect, we must understand our human nature.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Human beings, God’s crowning creation, are composed of body, soul and spirit.
Our bodies are made of the dust of the ground. But we are not our bodies; we just live in our bodies.
We also have souls, which are our personalities, sense of humor, intelligence, likes and dislikes, idiosyncrasies - the things that make us unique.
The human spirit is inextricably united with its soul, completely inseparable, but they are not the same thing. The human spirit is the organ of spiritual knowledge; it is evidence that God put Himself into man.
Adrian Rogers says, “Salvation is not primarily getting man out of Earth into Heaven; it is getting God out of Heaven and back into man.”
It is important that believers dwell in the Holy Spirit, because He speaks to our human spirits, which speak to our souls, which speak to our bodies. Our bodies move out into the world and allow us to be physical manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
When we are saved, we immediately receive justification in our Spirit; we are progressively sanctified in our souls, and ultimately glorified in our bodies.
Anyone can be saved; and when we are, we are given the assurance of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Faith is not a feeling; it is depending on God’s facts.
    Apply it to your life
Do you have the assurance of salvation? Remember: salvation is simple: whosoever may come.

Adrian, you were always my all time fav Preacher of Preachers, and I always believed you were the Perfect Preacher, but I am saddened tonight because I discovered you have 1 Major Flaw.
You preached beautifully as always, but on the "Simplicity of Salvation," I never heard you even once mention the Original Heart, Soul and Corner Stone of Salvation, John 3:16. NO ONE said His Gospel more simply, perfectly, beautifully and completely than Jesus, in John 3:16.
SALVATION is a LEGAL CONTRACT With GOD…THE GOSPEL JOHN 3:16!
We Are SAVED By GOD, by BELIEVING in HIS WORD, and "ACCEPTING HIS OFFER," JESUS As Our SAVIOR.
The Gospel is a simple Legal Offer and Acceptance Contract, with the Substitutionary Death and Life of God's Son Jesus as Consideration, but the Greatest Contract ever Spoken and Written!
John 3:16,The Gospel says: For GOD so Loved the World that He Gave His only Son (Jesus Christ),
to be (OFFERED) as a substitute sacrifice to Die for our sins (CONSIDERATION), so that whoever Believes in and (ACCEPTS) Him (as Savior) shall not perish, but have eternal life. (Be Saved)
JOHN 3:16, The Perfect and Complete GOSPEL, was Spoken Directly by Jesus to Nicodemus which by BELIEVING we are Born Again and SAVED! Jesus revealed His GOSPEL to His Apostle John and commanded that we Witness THE GOOD NEWS to all the World to be Saved.
John 3;16 is so simple and perfect, that even a child or atheist can understand it and be saved.
If John 3:16 was good enough for Jesus...It's good enough for me. :)

ONLY GOD LOVED us, and ONLY GOD SAVED us!
“For GOD so LOVED the world, that HE GAVE."
Out of the very Mouth of God, Jesus Told and Commanded us What and How to witness His Original, Simple, Perfect, Complete, Heart, Soul and Corner Stone of Salvation, John 3:16.
Sadly, In trying to explain salvation to the faithless skeptics, many including the Godly apostles and great preachers have been led astray thinking they need to ADD to what Jesus said.
When you add anything to it, all the Details Jesus did not include, like faith, repenting, grace, blood, cross, baptism, just complicate and confuse it, and take away the Glory from God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Imo, we should always preach and witness THE GOSPEL John 3:16 First, and if we need to add Details to Explain How we are Saved, then always let them know that these Things, don't Save us, GOD Saves us?

I talked to God last night that I believe with all my heart, mind, soul and strength that Jesus died for my sins, and rose again the third day. And I invited him into my life. I feel better, a lighter feeling today than the heavy feeling yesterday.

You don’t give your heart to Jesus TO be saved. You don’t give Jesus control of your life to Jesus TO be saved. This would be a WORK! To Roger’s, believing unto salvation is agreeing to give God control/ surrendering your life! But salvation is a FREE GIFT! If someone wants to know how to be saved, the answer is : believe that Jesus has already died for your sin, paying 100% of your sins to God’s satisfaction. We could never satisfy God concerning our sin debt. You put your faith in that fact alone and God grants eternal life to such a person as a totally free gift

Before Jesus died on the cross, people sinned on a regular basis, and they sacrificed animals for forgiveness.
The Bible tells us that Jesus death on the cross was meant to give us a better way. He came to bring righteousness to his chosen people.
2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us this:
"For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
    Scripture also says:
    1 Peter 2:24
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness."
    Scripture also says:
“And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Romans 6:18.
There are many people who call themselves Christians today who do not live any differently than people did before Jesus came.
They sin on a regular basis just as people always did before. They believe they have been saved even though there is no distinction between their lifestyles and that of unbelievers. They believe Jesus made the sacrifice so that they can sin without a penalty and recieve constant forgiveness.
This was not what God intended. The free gift that he offers is only for those who are obedient to living without sin.
    Hebrews 5:9 tells us:
"And being made perfect, he (Jesus) became the source of eternal salvation to all who OBEY him,"
Deliberate rebellion against God was not acceptable before Jesus came:
    Numbers ch. 15 tells us:
"But the person who does anything
presumptuously, whether he is native-born or a stranger, that one brings reproach on the Lord, and he shall be cut off from among his people. Because he has despised the word of the Lord, and has broken His commandment, that person shall be completely cut off; his guilt shall be upon him."
Also, we are told that deliberate rebellion today is still not tolerated even after Jesus died on the cross:
“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.”
    (Hebrews 10:26).
Jesus came to forgive sins and also to bring righteousness to those that he chooses to forgive. Most Christians deny that righteousness is possible. They reject God's grace, which offers freedom from sin by denying it. Without faith in the power of God to deliver us from the bondage of sin, they will not be able to enter his kingdom.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 confirms that righteousness is required for Salvation:
"do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
God’s grace does not forgive continual sins. It frees us from the bondage of sin itself. Unsaved Christians are still living under the law. They are trying to find ways to conquer their sins on their own. They may run from church to church looking for answers. They may think this speaker or that one will have the magical answer. No human being can tell you how to stop sinning. There is no five step program that can change our heart. It is a miracle from God that we recieve when we are truly Born Again. Sin cannot be overcome without the power of the Holy Spirit. Those without the Holy Spirit are still under the law and they will pay the full penalty that the law requires come Judgment Day.

This freaks flesh we all only see with is blinded driver away. We will take a simple little verse and show you why it is not addressed to the natural man, Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

You left out the important second half of the verse. Mark 16 Whoever BELIEVES and is baptized will be SAVED, but whoever DOES NOT BELIEVE will be CONDEMNED.
Just because Jesus happened to include Baptism here in the same sentence after Believing, does not mean we must be Baptized to be Saved. Just as whoever DOES NOT BELIEVE will be CONDEMNED, because it is BELIEVING and NOT BELIEVING that SAVES and CONDEMNS us, NOT BAPTISM or repenting of daily sins.
He might have included, and witness, but witnessing does not Save us.
If we must first Repent to be Saved, tell us, what, how many and how long must we repent of these sins, before we can do what Jesus said in John 3:16, and be Saved? Imo, This awesome and often quoted verse of the great apostle Peter, has been mis-preached and misinterpreted throughout the ages.
When Peter said unto them, REPENT...He was not speaking to our daily sins, but to the unforgivable sin of Disbelief in Jesus as our Savior, revealed to us in His Gospel, John 3:16
But Religious Judaizers site other verses and tell us we must repent of our sins...before we can be saved.
Then they tie water baptism to Believing, saying we must be water baptized to be saved.
Imo, many take the words "for the remission of sins," out of context, because again, the only thing that can remit our sins is, repenting of our Disbelief, and Believing IN the Gospel. Imo, Peter actually was saying, "Repent for the remission of sins."
Imo, Acts 2:38 would have been much better understood, and served God if it were interpreted as:
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent of your (Disbelief in the Gospel), for the remission of sins, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Imo, Repentance of our Disbelief-SAVES us...and then Water Baptism-Empowers by the Holy Spirit us to Repent of our daily sins.

He preaches a works salvation, most people probably won’t catch it! Listen around mart 25-35 and the again at the end. Nowhere in the Bible does it tell the last person to repent of their sins to be saved or to put God in control of your life or make him Lord of your life in order to receive eternal life! We don’t give to God to get eternal life…we take from God! We take His pardon and He gives us His GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE WITH NO STRINGS ATTACHED! There is no verse in the Bible that tells a lost person they must repent or change their mind about their sinning. If you had to do that, then why did Jesus go to the Cross. It’s not Jesus Plus! It’s only what Jesus did that satisfied God’s judgment against us. It’s not Jesus plus us surrendering to give Him control!
The Christian walk hast to be separated from salvation, if you mix those two things together you come up with another gospel. And another gospel won’t save anyone! This man is preaching Loadship heresy!
