    Hello markos, i watch many of your fishing videos and this summer I am visiting Santorini Greece and i would like to try some fishing. I will be there in july, what can i catch, squid? albacore? mahi mahi? Thank you, love the great videos.

    • @MarkosVidalis
      @MarkosVidalis  4 месяца назад

      Hi! Summer is not the best season for fishing, due to warm waters and especialy in very turistic places like Santorini that the waters are VERY disturbed. I will have to be honest with you! Do not expect many things.
      Squid are only in winter and autumn, Mahi Mahi are only in Autumn, Albacores are mostly in winter and spring, but maybe you might find some. Maybe you can find some groupers and Amberjacks very early in the morning, before the sea traffic. One big minus for Santorini is that it is a volcanic island, and the waters are generaly warmer than other places in summer...

    Thank you for the great video and information Mr. Vidalis. May i ask that if you can make a video about how you would build/tye an assist hook (besides manufacturing the hook itself ofcourse :)) if you had to build one from the ground up, while explaining the kind of assist cords, hooks, tying threads and shrink tubes/macarons you would use.
    One condition though; ıf it is not against your obligations towards Savage Gear (which is a personally preferred brand :)) Thank you alot and regards. From the other side of the Aegean with love.

  • @hldemi_fishing

    Very nice video Markos !!! You lost jig while keeping the assist hooks. Had something crazier happen to me. Bonito somehow opened my snap and I saw under my feet the jig 1 meter away from a fish.. so I thought its over, yes ? Then I lost the fish. What surprised me is that on the snap there were still assist hooks. So I was double unluckly with losing fish to a bad hookup while losing jig to open snap and yet lucky enough to keep the hooks... such is the fishing, never ends with weird unprobable events happening.

  • @zackdagan1729
    @zackdagan1729 3 месяца назад

    Hi Markos, many jigs are coming with ready setup of one assist hook in front and a treble hook in the back, like my favorite Savage Gear 3D jig minnow that i use a lot, would you recommend removing the trebles and use two assist hooks in front on those jigs? thank you for this very educative video.

    • @MarkosVidalis
      @MarkosVidalis  3 месяца назад

      For jigs smaller than 30gr, you can use the treble in the back. However I prefer to remove it

    THanks for all your videos. Do you think that the same principles on proper rigging apply for asymetrical jigs, like for slow jigging?? I am asking because in other videos the suggestion is to use hooks on both ends of the jig as slow jigs have a more horizintal move than symetrical (fast) jigs. Thanks again!!

    • @MarkosVidalis
      @MarkosVidalis  Месяц назад +1

      No. As you said, slow Jigging has a slower and more parallel position

    short assist hooks, do you think the same is applicable for small LRF jigs, 3-7g?

    • @MarkosVidalis
      @MarkosVidalis  4 месяца назад +1

      It is quite hard to have short assist hooks there! Besides, the predatros that attack on such size jigs, they gulp them all inside! But yes, even there, a very logn assist hook is not right!
