PVST, PVST+ and Spanning-Tree Convergence

  • Cisco has their own implementation of Spanning-Tree, which is Per VLAN Spanning-Tree. It's different than the IEEE Standard, and you're expected to understand it for your CCNA exam.
    It's also important to understand how Spanning-Tree converges when there is a link failure in the network. Understanding this will help you understand why we prefer PVST+ over PVST.
