Few key points.
1. In a regiment mainly two lt.col are present and the the post of 2IC is only give to the better performing individual. A colonel can only serve as a CO once which is a duration of 1.5 years after which they are posted in other jobs of cantt which helps them to prepare for the role of a brigadier.
4. If a colonel is seen as unfit to become a brigadier he will then serve as the commander of a depot or warehouse, after which he will be given a retirement.
Sir one doubt, I have seen the colonel board of 10 para SF. All CO had 3yrs tenure. So deos para sf has 3yrs and others only 1.5yrs.

No in a platoon a JCO assists an inexperienced Lieutenant ... Lieutenants as an entry level officer lead a section and a JCO help him to command the section & in some circumstantial requirements they lead a platoon along with a JCO ...Usually captains lead a platoon specially the Ghatak Platoon ( The shock troopers in a battalion) The captains are also act as the 2IC (2nd in command) in a company ....

How many officers are there in Indian Army brother?? Do you know of the figure??? Officer lead, men follow. That’s how it’s done. If you’re working in an organisation, can you raise a question, why the boss is having so much respect & why is he enjoying privileges??? Officers have added responsibility that you know nothing about. That’s the reason an officer is respected as he has to lead his men into battle. First bullet comes flying to an officer & not men. Hence, an officer is mentioned every where. If you’re just a child, then don’t comment just frivolously despite of knowing nothing.

I'm not talking about respect and for your kind information I know very Well about Rank Hierarchy and Structure of the Indian Army . My Father is an Serving personnel of Indian Army . @@niyazmohammad2381 Knowing from outside & living it everyday is a different thing. Everyone’s job is well defined & powers have been given as per their ranks. You don’t need to worry about that. Fauj is doing its job in the most professional manner possible. So would still say, even though as you quote, you know about the hierarchy & structure, you’ve not even seen the tip of the iceberg boy!! And FYI, I’m living it every day of my life.

Officer's have removed 2nd Lt rank for their benefit but other ranks are still struggling as sep,link,Nk etc The time taken to become havilider is minimum 15 yrs..For the benifits of offr they made time-bound promotion but it is not so for other ranks

The Indian army should transition away from the outdated British command and hierarchy system, as it perpetuates discrimination and stark differences between officers and soldiers. Both ranks face similar challenges, albeit with distinct responsibilities, and both deserve equal respect. I'm not advocating for an equivalence of ranks and commands, but rather for an end to the unjust practice of looking down on soldiers. When an officer issues an order, it's important to recognize the hardships and knowledge required for such a role. However, it's equally essential to acknowledge the strenuous physical demands that soldiers endure, including standing in harsh conditions, carrying heavy loads for a minimum of nine grueling hours (as the theoretical six-hour shift often extends much longer in practice). Soldiers face a multitude of challenges, such as enduring rigorous physical activity, working in adverse conditions, receiving lower-quality food, experiencing inadequate rest, and having subpar accommodations, as well as limited access to welfare services, canteens, rations, transportation, and lower salaries. On the other hand, officers enjoy more comfortable roles, involving issuing orders, indulging in recreational activities, partaking in high-quality dining, having better accommodations, accessing superior canteen facilities, and enjoying both peace and operational missions with better pay and other provisions. I am not exaggerating; celebrating without regard for the relevance of time is another matter. It requires a significant amount of time, manpower, and resources to host such a party. The individuals who bear the hardships of preparation, for the enjoyment of a few class officers, are the soldiers. It's worth noting that soldiers are often assigned to perform menial tasks (hope many of us have heard of how buddy system works in the army).
Both comes back from work. The officer is greeted by a team of staff ready to cater to his needs, ensuring his full comfort. However, for the soldier, it is uncertain whether the food in the dining area is still warm or if there was any left over. Unfortunately, if the soldier happened to be a junior among his roommates, he had to fetch water, food, and more for the so-called seniors before he could eat peacefully, freshen up, and then the whistle would blow again. It's just a daily routine, and he is accustomed to this enduring life. Even the difference in the guard of honor at the death of a soldier and an officer. What? Is the sacrifice of one more supreme? It's sad. The list of disparities is endless. There are too many differences and divisions often leading to unfair treatment. In summary, the Indian army should shed the British tradition of underestimating Indian soldiers. It's time to align with modern trends for the sake of efficiency, humanity, and creating a fairer system within the organization. The media and higher authorities should not merely boast about the benefits and welfare programs offered to soldiers without ensuring that these benefits are actually delivered on the ground. I'm not demanding excessive privileges, but given the context of the modern age, it's important to recognize that if we can treat officers with reverence, we should do the same for soldiers who endure an equal or sometimes even greater amount of hardship.

Do you know, approx 1.4 million soldiers are there and handpicking a few & quoting it as the tradition, you’re really good at this. Do you know what are the operational requirements, operational responsibilities, what & how to be done. Knowing nothing & still pretending to know everything & over that making it as your own suffering, I must applaud you for this

Ranks in and of themselves have no power. It's the appointment that an officer tenantes that gives him power, or not.
