No, Captain and Lieutenant ranks are probationary ranks and are under guidance of Major and above rank officers. They may be on paper leading a platoon but in action they will observing and learning from senior and experienced JCOs in how to lead and make decisions.

The problem with our army is that it still follows the British system where some officers consider non-gazetted personnels like ORs as inferiors and this hurts me alot. I don't want to compare but US army doesn't have such discrimination in them. No doubt most officers are very kind and respect everyone in the army but due to the long running rituals there is a solid line between officers and soldiers. Jai Hind Jai Bharat 🇮🇳

if you were a BA LLB grad. you would still have the chance JAG entry, now you can only join territorial army
