I think the way you cook should be considered the “normal way” it’s home cooked/homemade , good ingredients, protein, veg, starch and fats, and your sauerkraut. It’s balanced. ❤ great video as always! The bump is looking cute!
I bet those fried pork chops were so yummy. You cook like my mother did and I still think her cooking was the best ever ! your family doesn’t realize yet just how Blessed they are to have a mother like you.
I love the way you guys live and the meals you guys make... I didn't grow up in that kind of setting...I have 9 kids and after my fifth, I realized the take out/chx nugget/Mac and cheese processed food from a box wasn't the way I wanted my kids to grow up...insert Lisa and Laura ...I literally got inspired from you two, 4kids later, we now eat 90% at home, and I always picture you guys when I'm getting ready to make food for my family...I'm so grateful for you both ...you all took out the heavy overwhelm that I imagined home cooking all the time would be ❤
Laura, the little chest vignette in the hallway is just the sweetest! What a great find! Last week, by chance your sister Andrea's You tube came up in my feed and I watched some of her videos. So great that all 3 have their own channels. Hope you are feeling good! Have a great weekend.
I believe the little oak chest you purchased is referred to as a dry sink. These were typically used with a pottery pitcher & bowl set used for washing up before running water in homes. I have one which was passed on to me from husband’s grandparents. I refinished it years ago and initially used it in my sewing room but after downsizing its now in my foyer. Very attractive useful piece, I’d say you scored! If also seen it used as baby changing table with a cushioned pad on top.
Hi Laura ( or is it Lara ? ) 😊 Here is a family favorite recipe that is simple and so delicious. ( German pork and Saurkraut ) Take a baking pan, layer peeled and cut lengthwise potatoes ( any type). Lay pork steak , pork chops or boneless ribs on top of the potatoes. Then top with sauerkraut. Salt and pepper. Cover and bake till potatoes are soft and meat is done. A hour ? 350 degrees. I usually let it cook slow all day. Either in a crockpot or oven on low. It’s actually better the next day. It’s a recipe that you can add more or less of any ingredient. The more sauerkraut the better. More tangy. I put a couple chunks of butter on top as well. Hope you try it ! Love your channel 😊
That's how i meal plan too. I just see what i have and throw it together. I also have a binder with recipes we like and ill use that too, but i always end up changing the recipe a bit just based off what i have :)
I love that small chest you found. Little pieces like that are so versatile, you can always find a spot in a room or hall to put them and they are a great place for storing towels or whatever, your house looks really nice. I know you said you don't mop much but I do recommend the spin mop if you ever need one. I think they do a really good job without having to get on the floor. Have a nice weekend!
@@ouroilyhouse I forgot to mention that the spin mop is really good for cleaning base boards without bending over too, lol you can tell I'm getting older ;)
You are a Great Mom & Homemaker!🫶🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You are creative in all you do to for your family! Meals are healthy; locally sourced meat/ Veggies! So long as ur family is happy it’s all Good! Enjoy ur Home!❤️😍🫶🏻
For lunches, many people have leftovers from the night before; various salads such as chef, egg, spinach, chicken, ham; hearty soups; sandwiches from leftover meats, chicken, etc. Something of a different temperature or texture from a full dinner meal.
I love how in the backround, your fireplace mantel is visible. It looks so good! You did a great job Laura! And that pork chop lunch, yum I’ll be right over!🤣
I’ve been I homemaker for 25 years and I cook like you. I don’t meal plan at all. I just stock up and cook my family’s favorite with lots of variations.
Laura, just a little FYI unless you just prefer there is no need to refrigerate your bacon grease. I have a small crock next to my stove that I strain mine into each time I cook bacon. It is so wonderful and I occasionally empty it and wash it but not very often. Just thought I would pass on that bit of knowledge. I realize bacon needs the refrigeration but the grease was actually used to preserve meat decades ago. Love your videos and Congratulations on your new addition!❤
I always enjoy watching you cook (I really hate to cook) I learn so much from you. I've often wondered too why such big lunches but you're probably right, the growing boys would have to eat 2 or 3 sandwiches to get full so may as well cook a big lunch! I love the little space you created with your latest find!! Thank you for sharing your meal ideas!!
When you made the chicken pasta dish I missed a few things. What was the white stuff you poured into that dish with the bacon, spinach, onions and HOW much of it? So you eat this dish hot ? What kind of shredded cheese and HOw much cheese?
I recently did the same thing…had an extra two hours so I scoured my kitchen cabinets. However 1/2 way thru I found some old cook books and for the next 30 minutes I sat on the kitchen floor going through recipes…and forgot all about the cleaning! 😂 Love your hallway decor, looks so homey yet very chic!!
I would love to cook proper lunches like that! I have a large family too with 7 kids but the price of food here in Australia is unbelievable so I simply can't afford to.
I have to say the meal looked spectacular to me!🤷🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was always heartbroken when my kid’s didn’t like something I had a huge pot of😬🙄 i still have to hear about my stuffed pork chops☹️☺️❤
Hi! Do you have a link for the fryer that you use for the French fries? By the way I absolutely love your channel content and I watch you religiously every week! And congratulations on the newest member of your family! Can’t wait to see! ❤
Normally… lunch is lighter for many people/ families. Leftovers, a sandwich with fruit or chips, soup and crackers, a salad etc.. Nothing wrong with how you feed your family, especially since you cook from scratch mostly, your children are eating healthier for sure.
I didn’t realize that they had a sister by the name Andrea You might be referring to their you tube friend that they have visited several times I have been watching all 3 of these ladies for many years if it is the Andrea that I’m thinking her I tube channel is (Pine & Prospect Home) Maybe that will help
I need some answers from the experts please. I recently started using dōTERRA oils and made a few roller bottles for my son and myself and I noticed an odd smell that lingers on the skin at the end of the day. I noticed it on out hair mostly. We both have long hair and we don't wash our hair every day and it got very stinky after a couple of days because I guess the oil that we put on the back of our necks got transfered to our hair. Is this because of the coconut oil? Did anyone else notice something like this? I have a very sensitive nose and it almost makes me want to quite using our roller bottles.
Lunch for my house- leftovers, sandwiches or frozen things. My family is so picky. If they all eat my home cooked dinners I have won :) I can’t even get my kids to have a home lunch, they all rather eat crap public school lunch and complain about it and how they don’t get enough food 🤪 so All that said - this is my biggest battle actually 😥 I buy healthy food and want my family to eat all healthy all day and nope

Not everyone can do that and that’s ok. We need to respect others and the way they feed their families. We all do the best we can
Your family are so blessed to have such a wonderful person that cooks normal in my opinion!❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!

And that pork chop lunch, yum I’ll be right over!🤣
Was just pouring my LMNT in my water when you started!! Love it
I also make up meals on the fly. Love your antique store finds.
Awe, so happy for the new addition to your family!
That pasta looks delicious!!! I love watching you cook for your family!
I’ve been I homemaker for 25 years and I cook like you. I don’t meal plan at all. I just stock up and cook my family’s favorite with lots of variations.
Yes! It's the best way for us!
I love the hallway piece. It's so cute! I love the pork chop meal. Great cooking as always Laura.

Thank you! Most the time it still has some bacon bits in it so that's why I put it in the fridge 😊
Same Debbie I keep mine easily assessable by the stove :)
You inspire me to get into the kitchen and cook !!!!!
HAPPY Friday Laura, family, and fur babies. Loving how you are decorating your home. STTB
I love your channel. I cook the same way 3 big meals a day.
Great video, Laura! I like the slower narrative. And the content is very good! Love it!!
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you so much!!
you and i cabinet clean the same way!! when they sleep, just keep going 🙌🙌
Great meal suggestions. Thanks
Love the your new piece in the hallway!

Thanks for the video!! Have a great weekend!
The pasta looks amazing!! 🤩
Oh yes, your antique find is beautiful. I prefer pork than beef. I hope brooklyn NY is one of the states your sister can ship to.
I love Branch Basics too. ❤
Your videos are so calming, and pretty.❤
When you made the chicken pasta dish I missed a few things. What was the white stuff you poured into that dish with the bacon, spinach, onions and HOW much of it? So you eat this dish hot ? What kind of shredded cheese and HOw much cheese?
I cook two to three meals a day from my kitchen and like you its always a full meal...
Everything looks delicious!
Can you send me the link from your light green pot?
Thank you Laura, love your channel ❤🙏🏼
Great video
Enjoyed.
What’s your cleaning solution? And what’s in the spray bottle at your sink that you wash your dishes with?
I recently did the same thing…had an extra two hours so I scoured my kitchen cabinets. lol, who can resist reading an old cookbook ~ I would have done the same
I love how you made those pork steaks for lunch. Your family is lucky to have you. ❤
I would love to cook proper lunches like that! I have a large family too with 7 kids but the price of food here in Australia is unbelievable so I simply can't afford to.
Hi Laura I’m wondering if you sew your aprons or purchase? I love that style and would love to know if you are willing to share
Thanks for sharing, love you!!!
What size IP do you use? I have a 6qt but thinking of getting another for back up since it’s 7 years old now. Thinking of an 8qt
We are a family of twelve and this is how I was raised to cook; big meals for all three meals.
Yes! So much easier with a large family!
I have to say the meal looked spectacular to me!🤷🤣🤣🤣🤣 I was always heartbroken when my kid’s didn’t like something I had a huge pot of😬🙄 i still have to hear about my stuffed pork chops☹️☺️❤
I always enjoy your videos! 😃 I am wondering how you decided on the name for your channel?
My channel started off as an essential oil education channel, a couple years ago I started sharing different content but kept the name 🤪
❤Pleasant video.
Laura, where do you get your aprons?
I have them linked in my description box. 😊
Laura, I love watching Lisa from Farmhouse on Boone too! Have you heard of her?😂 you both are awesome ❤❤❤ Blessings!
🥰🥰🥰
Love your channel 👏🥰

Yes! It's on my Amazon shop. It is a fry daddy!
And thank you so much!!

I would be interested in your sister Andrea’s RUclips can you tell me the name of it
I would also. If someone could share her channel, 😊that would be wonderful.
It's Andrea Vehige.

@charlottecoker4036
😊it's definitely their sister. She looks like Laura a lot but sounds just like Lisa 😊
It's Andrea Vehige
You're smart to cook three bigger meals. You're cooking anyway, and this makes for leftovers. Easier overall 😊
