In dit filmpje geven wij een inzicht hoe uw ontwerp afgedrukt wordt op onze Roland VersaCamm VS-300 die tevens de contour uitsnijd en het ontwerp klaar maakt om daarna van vloeibare epoxy te voorzien of als alternatief met een doming als het sneller moet gaan.
the epoxy pre made domes are the shape of the final products, lets say a 50mm round that is cut out of the thinnest transperant sticker vinyl you can get, just add the epoxy and let cure, after a few hours just cut the sheets in smaller portions and stock for later use, now when needed you always have pre made domes in stock for fast runs, don't worry about the adhisive from the vinyl, it will not be vissable in the end product :-)
I have a question, why doesn't the liquid flow out of the margin how does it stay in place?
How did you make the domes that were already shaped and dried - before adding them to the stickers (on the second batch) - it looked like you had domes that were just backed with adhesive and stuck to the stickers?
No, the epoxy can be used directly on the printed label, let the lable cure for 24h (inkt) before applying the epoxy and it will not give any problems.
I use ecosolMax inct so it is a mild solvent inkt.
Hi Kurt, I have the same VS-640 but I was wondering what kind of paper or metallic material you are using cause I made some test in metallic materials here in Mexico and the ink doesnt fix to it. Does it has some special treatment or which brand or something that may help for me? Thanks for your useful information, and I must say great equipment you have! :)
Does it need to be laminated or coated before applying the epoxy on printed labels?

in reaction to SoundmasterX for small batches of lets say 50mm I would charge about 1,5USD up untill 200pc's and 10% discount for 200-500pcs and a 20% discount for orders over 500pcs.

+Yikkon14 In belgium you can get it from Mavom a company who sells special adhisives and epoxy's but you can also try liquidlens they make epoxy for doming or just go on alibaba and do a search for A+B glue and ask for a doming product :-)
Your going to need to just give a call to an ink manufacturer and ask them. I suggest Nazdar, they are the highest quality. Are you screen printing your inks? If so probably a UV made for polyester if you are printing onto metallic 'vinyl' which is usually polyester of some sort not just vinyl
The brand of epoxy is Robnor do a google search, we get it from a company in Belgium Mavom but the supply most of the EU.
Hi, I just use the EcoSolMax inct from Roland, the material is R-tape paper they are mostly known for their application tapes but they have some realy nice vinyl in their decorative line, just go ahead and visit them online at rtape (.) com, I use the indoor version as they are domed with epoxy any way. thanks for the compliment I just bought a Haas CNC that I will be showing on youtube soon and some other cool stuff like screen printing etc...

in reaction to alice sun's post, the reason why your epoxy and sticker are seperating is because you are using the wrong epoxy, everybody calls it epoxy but this is wrong, go ahead and buy some polyurethane resin like the one one www.liquid-lens.com and start with that, once you find your way you can find cheaper resin if needed. but the advanced 2 from liquid lens should get you started right away.
