Very good job, I have to say! Especially put the printed label on the cup, and then add the epoxy resin coating, so there is no need to worry that the epoxy resin will flow onto the table top and cause the label to be fixed on the table top.
Haha.. thanks. Practice, practice, practice. I'm glad you found value in its content. We have more video tutorials all relating to epoxy resin use and application. Thanks again.
If the camera has no moving parts, you can use the MAX CLR resin as a clear potting or embedding resin. When the resin cures, it is permanently bonded to the Arduino PCB. We have a customer that uses this resin system for potting and encapsulating lights and underwater cameras for deep-water diving and cinematography. ruclips.net/video/655A6Nevaac/видео.html

The image was downloaded and color laser printed on photo paper. You can use glossy or matte finished paper, actual photographs, or posters. The thicker the paper stock the better to prevent curling once the MAX CLR epoxy cures. All the other items needed are noted on the video demonstrations. laser photo paper was used made especially for use with laser printers, not inkjet devices. It is also called digital paper, and it comes in a variety of finishes. Laser paper has a special coating that seals porosity and prevents absorption of the epoxy dome coating.
Yes, I'm sure it can be done. If you plan to use a patch made from fabric, it needs to be sealed or impregnated with the MAX CLR resin first to seal the porosity. Once cured, place the patch on a level surface and then do the dome coating application as demonstrated in the video. For a dome coating to work, there are two factors that are important. One, the decal, image, or patch has to be non-absorbent, and secondly, it has to be flat enough to create the meniscus or domed resin.
Polyester resins will limit the type of printing you can use to print the image. Polyester utilizes styrene monomer in its formulation, which will cause the printed image to run and bleed more readily compared to epoxy resins. The shrinkage factor may also be of concern since polyester tends to shrink more as it cures from a liquid resin to a solid plastic. Too much shrinkage will cause curling and warping to occur. Other factors such as polyester flammability, strong odor, and durability make epoxy the resin system to use over polyester for this application. The resin system used in the video is the MAX CLR A/B epoxy (www.ebay.com/itm/223471668009). It is a low toxicity formulation that is also FDA compliant for direct food contact coatings. Once fully cured, MAX CLR is inert, making it suitable for casting body jewelry that comes in direct contact with skin and not causes an allergic reaction to occur. As long as the rock is flat so the resin will self-level. When applying an epoxy coating over a previously coated or painted surface, you need to check the wettability of the surface to make sure the epoxy cures with good adhesion. Is this mixture friendly with electronics? Could I waterproof an arduino camera with this? 🤔
