@@DJDarylBennett how do these compare to the uking one's? This being 3w that puts them into a class 4. I believe the Uking you reviewed is a Class 3. I plan to do a laser show from my Yacht aiming towards the water :D Trying to see what setup I want to run. Thanks.
This might be a stupid question. But can you create your own animations/images? Or is it all preset and you can only mess with the effects? Thank you in advance! I guess kinda in comparison to laseros
@@DJDarylBennett Can you name some software? My bad I’m looking to get a production system but I wanna do all the research first before just jumping into it.
Hello again I finally got this the other day and OMG it is amazing and fun. Here is my question..If I use ILDA program will the laser automatically know it is ILDA program? There isn't a setting for ILDa only DMX 512, Auto then the preset programs. I am thinking and hoping the laser will recognize the ILDA program and I will be fine. Thank Jason
@@DJDarylBennett ok I ordered the dongle interface today. So I am hoping that I can use that to connect to my laptop and then just download southswitch. And that's all I should need to program the lasers to do what I want.
Soni want to buy this one 3watt or berter yet the 6W..this whol fda variance paperwork is really intimidating. If i am looking at this.paper work. I have to send them detailed diagrams on where i will be using it. It won't be for public use just having some fun and learn dmx and some of the DMX software out there. If i am reading it correctly everytime you want to use the laser younhave to file plans with the FDA?
From how I read it, it's every time it's a paid gig. Their own website sounded like it was a gray area if it's a free event. But it wouldn't hurt. Also you can use it at your own house by yourself, no problem
I am in the process of doing the FDA variance forms. These forms seem very intimidating and complex. Doni have to fill out every form on the FDA website. Everytime i use the laser will i have to let the FDA know and give them information on the venue. I am hetting this only to mess around with it at home and using DMX and i am hoing to buy the software too. Thanks for any help on 5he FDA forms wiuld be appreciated. Ty
Hey Daryl, Would you considering doing a setup video for this product? Truth be told I hastily purchased one without much prior knowledge, and I'm struggling to get it functional. I have the DMX in connected to an Entec DMX to USB adapter (which is connected to my pc,) but I cannot get the laser to turn on using SoundSwitch. Think you could help me out? Great content btw.
@@DJDarylBennett hey Daryl, Got my issues resolved - was missing a driver for my adapter! Have about 10 minutes of visuals & lasers put together so far, all thanks to your tutorial!!!
Umm, I don't know how much experience you have but it's called an e stop. Emergency Stop Switch and it's external, most lasers will not power on without a direct signal from an e stop going into the data port.
So what?@@Flash-fw9mq I'm talking about laser zone projection mapping, which is not possible using Soundswitch. Zone projection mapping prevents lasers from pointing at a crowd.
Without proper training and understanding of what you're advertising, I'd advise you to refrain from such videos in the future. You can literally burn your house down with a laser like this but you have no warnings. You don't cover e stops. You don't cover precautions. I don't believe you to have any real world experience with lasers. I understand these are crowd scanning lasers but there is absolutely no excuse for giving instructions for operations without information about precautions. Also your laser balance is off and you're lucky you didn't kill your camera by letting the laser hit it. DJs have absolutely no business reviewing lasers on RUclips.
We have another video going over laser safety which I reference in this video. We just go over some of the main specs provided by the manufacturer, which includes safety instructions, and I advise everyone to review
can you do a soundswitch video on lasers. not many videos out there for soundswitch and lasers
Just gotta use a bunch of attribute cues. I've got a couple shows with a pair of these on my channel.
yeah I agree, please do a soundswitch with lasers there aren’t many of those
I kinda go over that in this video, as well as in my other laser video. But I can make one that is more directed at laser workflows
Sick
Just a side note, you could use that door in the front to shield the laser from going lower than a certain point
Great point
@DjShannimal the door is a mandatory safety standard. Kind of like a hard stop.
Is the Laser dimmable and how can you do it in soundswitch? Awesome video btw :)
The laser is not dimmable. Check out the uking laser video, I go in depth how to use a laser with SoundSwitch

What hazer/fog machine do you suggest for smaller events? Just to get a light haze near the booth?
Can these lasers do white dots?

@@luimang4996check out Pangolin Quickshow and the FB3. Yes, it's pricey at $550, but you get control over all aspects of the laser.
what program is to connect this laser

Yes it is with the ilda

Depends if you're in the US and the type of event you do. I linked the FDA page in the description

You should not be using such a high powered laser with Soundswitch. There are NO safety features built into the software.
