Ks will make 220 and even 250 whp with bolt-ons and almost minimal effort--they respond much better than B-series--plus your K24A2 makes 205 bhp to begin with (TSX, right?) The B16B is somewhere in the realm of 180 bhp stock--so even less whp in stock form. A jump to 230 whp is probably around 250-270 at the crank for this engine.

Everyone should stop the B vs K deal, why not appreciate both engines for want they are. On top of that, let's not forget the when the b16b, or heck, the first b16's were made. They were never worried about displacement, they created well-balanced, bang for buck, geniously-engineered motors. Though the B18C5 is hands down the cream of the crop B-series motor, the B16A/B defined what Honda was capable of in the late 80's and 90's.

Just so you know, not all RHD Civics are made in Japan. The Civic in the video still has the full dash and door trim, making it hard for me to believe that it has been stripped down to save weight. I am not saying that the car is heavy, I'm only pointing out what I see in the video. I would really like to know what mods were done to this car.

Johnny Salvattore From what I know. TypeSH, Honda NSX, and S2000 is the only Hondas that was actually meant for racing. Civics weren't really meant for racing up until the Type R or Civic SI I believe.
This was interesting to watch and truly an amazing feat for that civic driver. All I really see in these comments is about how the civic is crap too win or how the GTR is too fast to lose. It all comes down to how each driver drives in addition to the car. You're still right: the GT-Rs have always been highway "jets", and you can see once again on a stock NSX-R '92 against a stock '99 R34 GT-R, running on a technical circuit..
I think the power and speed of the gtr are over exaggerated by its legacy, when in reality its heavy and can be outperformed handling wise by a lot of nimbler cars, you can clearly see the gtr woulda won if not for turns, this was by no means a suprising outcome to me, that gtr coulda had 1000hp, it still wasn't a estimated 2000 lb MAX (for that Honda) range nimble car built for track

Zyopino GT power also played no factor in this race either. its a fairly technical track. the civic driver was also keeping him self calm by gesturing and genuinely nseeming like hes having a blast. would have made no diffence if they both were in gtrs or all were this driver knows this track. presonall i still like the gtf thou unlike its predecessors in the 34 down to 32 it is very much a hevy car. the stripped down civic had the edge in every corner. the gtr also had a high disadvantage having to slow its own weight upseting its ballance losing what gave it its avantage whitch is purly its power alone
Proof! Fwd cars are pretty decent track monsters. The awd gtr is still nice at a launch, hard to beat that but when the little fwd four banger starts to pull and pull away it becomes a drivers race.

nycpark he probably has a really stiff sway bar at the rear. Stiffen rear suspension parts and you can get it to oversteer with a little weight transfer

This Civic, like that S2000 (I had a 2005...loved that car) are drivers car. No electronics assisted whatever... plus, he took some great lines to make passes. Great driving overall but I'm still a fan of the GTR...I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I think the power and speed of the gtr are over exaggerated by its legacy, when in reality its heavy and can be outperformed handling wise by a lot of nimbler cars, you can clearly see the gtr woulda won if not for turns, this was by no means a suprising outcome to me, that gtr coulda had 1000hp, it still wasn't a estimated 2000 lb MAX (for that Honda) range nimble car built for track
The GTR is a GT car as well, so great for road driving. It's good in a track but a Lil too heavy for tight bends etc...

Zyopino GT power also played no factor in this race either. its a fairly technical track. the civic driver was also keeping him self calm by gesturing and genuinely nseeming like hes having a blast. would have made no diffence if they both were in gtrs or all were this driver knows this track. presonall i still like the gtf thou unlike its predecessors in the 34 down to 32 it is very much a hevy car. the stripped down civic had the edge in every corner. the gtr also had a high disadvantage having to slow its own weight upseting its ballance losing what gave it its avantage whitch is purly its power alone

Proof! Fwd cars are pretty decent track monsters. The awd gtr is still nice at a launch, hard to beat that but when the little fwd four banger starts to pull and pull away it becomes a drivers race.

The civic of course is setup perfectly for this track and very light weight id say around 2000 pounds with all that weight reduction as opposed to 3800 pounds the GTR has. I think you guys need to compare a mildly tuned gtr and this civic to really have an argument.

The driver on the GTR braked too early and looked scared around corners. The civic driver looked like he raced that track for years!

nycpark he probably has a really stiff sway bar at the rear. Stiffen rear suspension parts and you can get it to oversteer with a little weight transfer

That's what I was thinking. Not taking anything from the civic beast ass cars but this looks like race modded Hondas chasing down a stock GTR to me and if not that GTR driver sucked. I'm almost pretty sure a race modded GTR vs any race modded Honda FWD it will chew. The GTR is a track beast too. Love Hondas my favorite brand because they do things others do but take a different approach. Nissan Second favorite Brand.

Watch the 1st few seconds when the Gtr takes off then has to slow waaay down to turn. Still love the gtr but I'm a proud Honda man!

This Civic, like that S2000 (I had a 2005...loved that car) are drivers car. No electronics assisted whatever... plus, he took some great lines to make passes. Great driving overall but I'm still a fan of the GTR...I would buy one in a heartbeat.
