Um. Excuse me. HAL Laboratories has never actually confirmed that Ado of _Dream Land 3_ and Adeleine of later games are the same person. In fact, the most they've done is toy with the idea that they're separate. This is a travesty, in fact. _Unconscionable._
It is heavily implied they are the same, though. They have the same abilities, and they were intended to look the same. The design that Ado was intended to have looks very similar to Adeleine and ended up looking different due to sprite limitations, and early designs of Adeleine, some of which you can see in the credits art in her game, have details that exist on Ado but no longer exist on Adeleine.
In my opinion, they are the same. In Star Allies, Adeleine has a move called "Ado's Painter." She takes out her canvas and paints bosses like she does in Dream Land 3. Both of their designs and boss fights are very similar. Not entirely sure what people would gain from saying they are not the same. Both are artists and have the same abilities. What are your thoughts, though?
