  • Mahabharata encompasses the essence of Indian ethos in its epic story. It gives a rich glimpse into the psychology of its characters, and thus into the various shades of human nature. In the vast array of Mahabharata's iconic characters, there exist many intriguing women, who indicate the lives and realities of women in ancient India.
Today, on the International Women's Day we are delighted to launch a Chitra Katha Series on the Women in Mahabharata. The first story of the series tells the tale of strong willed and independent Shakuntala, as she appears in the Shakuntala's Upakhyana of the Mahabharata.

Though I knew the story from Mahabharata, your rendition made the real difference. You have a gifted voice, Gauri ma'am. Yes, we must all know the real Shakuntala and how she stood strong and tall.

Extremely well rendered. Only one kind request. Please ensure holy marks on foreheads of characters.

Take this video down. Dushyant was a confused husband ???? Bhandarkar - Management needs to take note of such atrocious material being dispensed under the name of our Itihasa.
