Excellent. Thanks! Love the super-fast review section at 5:47, but actually, put that at the beginning in future videos! Some of us just need that quick high-speed overview and that's enough, and for those who need more they can keep watching the rest of the video for the additional details and narration. Again, well done. And thank you.
Thank you! I'm ready to tackle this myself. What type of impact wrench do you using. I need to buy one! What do you recommend for all around use for vehicle and other jobs?
I found KYB 343412 online but it seems this may not work for a 2017 mazda 5 according to the various providers. Any idea what the part# is for a 2017 or if the 343412's work? I am having issues finding this anywhere except the dealership who want to charge $245. Thanks
Anyone know the thread pitch of those 12mm nuts? I need to free up one of them with an extractor or other method, so it will need to be replaced. I'd like to have it on hand before jacking up the car, again. Thanks!
Good question. I don’t see any KYB set, only found a set by Monroe Brand. I used rock auto.com to get the KYB’s. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
I purchased my 2013 mazda5 at 25k miles and is almost at a 96k, is a well made car, apart from regular oil change this suspension replacement the engine are suspension are running as new. The engine uses a timing Chain instead of timing Belt so you wont need to worry on replacing it in a while.
We bought our 2007 new & it has 125k miles. Really well designed. Cargo space is much more useable than our outback & can often load more than the outback. Recently spent time with four other friends (Tesla & RAV4). With our 3rd tow we could easily get everyone in our car and the old girl still had oomph to get up hills at speed. The sliding doors are great. I wish they still sold them in the U.S. or an e-version. Perfect for hauling kids and getting into tight spaces. 5 stars.
KYB had a rebate offer on rockauto.com, I’ve used KYB brand previously with no issues. Try to go OEM if you can, most of the time it’s better than aftermarket. In this case I couldn’t afford OEM so I went KYB. Paid less than half with rebate vs Original Equipment.
Mazda 5 CR19 year 2007 its rear suspension is crap, I have a problem with banging and creaking, I changed the 3 suspension arms, the ball joints, the shock absorber, the shock absorber support, the pad and the shock absorber ring, only the spring that I did not change, but there is still the cloccloc and the squeaking, the manufacturer of the Mazda 5 is an ass
To be more concise, most manufacturers are asses. One way or another. If you've changed everything and you've had plenty of alignments, find a community college with a laser level for body work. They can pull your frame out if need be. If you can't get straight with stock stuff then your crooked😅
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thank you so much.
I thought suspension jobs were complicated, but this is great! Thanks for sharing, including the torque specs.
Front suspension is complicated. Mostly just rusty bolts and nuts.
Working on my Mazda 5 now.
Compliments to you.
Easy to follow
Torque numbers
Pretty good camera angles
This is an awesome video. Thank you so much! You saved me probably $200.
Great video. Everything went exactly as shown. Thank you for including socket sizes and torque specs. You got a subscriber.
Nice that you include torque settings for the bolts.

Thank you for this man...very helpful

Чувак ты лучший, помогло, молодец.
Do you know How to increase the ground clearance?

Are these torque measures for pounds per inch or pounds per foot?
Thank you 🙏🏿
Does kyb have the shock and spring kit for the front ? I really don't want to mess with the spring compressor..

Thoughts on when to replace the rear spring?
If it’s broken. Otherwise don’t worry about it. The spring just sets your ride height.
What are your thoughts on the mazda5? I’m thinking of buying one. 2013 with 80K miles currently.

Good job
Thank you!
Great vid
Any specific reason why you went with KYB?
KYB had a rebate offer on rockauto.com, I’ve used KYB brand previously with no issues. Try to go OEM if you can, most of the time it’s better than aftermarket. In this case I couldn’t afford OEM so I went KYB. Paid less than half with rebate vs Original Equipment.
@@thanelach How many miles did you have on the 5 when you replaced the rear? Thanks.
Kyb is the only company still with a stock offering that's stiffer than OEM. Some people don't appreciate the sway
Great video thane, thinking about doing a few things to the evo. Would you like to help?
Thank you for watching! We can get something done together. 👍🏽
How do you like the KYB Excels, is the ride close to stock/oem. I have the KYB monos and there too stiff for family outings.
Thx
What if you still hear a little rattling?
Check the rear spring.
Danke :)
Buen video
Nice but that is a shock absorber. Struts are at the front of that car.
Not sure where you live, but no suspension ever comes apart that easy.
