I have doubts regarding how much the nomad has to earn in order to be able to apply successfully to this. I work for a company but as a freelancer, and I've asked this to quite a few immigration lawyers from Spain and they've said that in my case, I need to earn €2,200 per month, or €26,400 per year. However, some others have said that I need to earn €32,000 per year, like in this video's case. So which one is it? The lawyers that gave me the first numbers claim that they already submitted applications for people that earn around €2,200 per month or €26,400 per year, and they got approved.

Just to get the full story here from someone who has already gone through the process
    1) The special tax regime is only for people working for a company, if you're self-employed, there's no special regime.
    2) The fundamental issue with people working for a company is that if your country of residence doesn't have any treaty with Spain, your company would have to pay your social security here, which is something most companies won't be willing to do.

yeah it kinda sucks there's no incentive tax-wise for self-employed individuals. Probably most digital nomads are self employed

They told us we could apply as employees and now they're telling me Americans can't!
      Very dishonest people!

@@okay4636 Yeah, be careful. there's a problem with a document related to social security. (I'm not American, so I don't know) but don't trust if a lawyer tell you it is easy to get.

@@okay4636 Can you elaborate more on your experience? Is it that Americans cannot, or people working for an American company cannot? I'm American, but have been in the Netherlands for 4.5 years working for a Dutch company. This is the company I plan to apply with.

Thank you so much for making this video. It was super helpful. I've subscribed to your channel. :)
I have three follow-up questions which I hope you can answer.
To give you some context: I'm currently working for a UK-based company fully remotely from Pakistan. I meet all the minimum income requirements, plus I also have a bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience in my trade. However, I'm currently classified as an "Independent Contractor" in my contract with my company. Here are my questions:
    1. Do I classify myself as an employee or a freelancer?
    2. If it's the latter, do I also need to have an established business (like an LLC) in my home country (Pakistan)? For reference, I currently do not have one.
    3. If the answer to my last question is 'yes,' how old should my established business be?
Would really appreciate your help with this. Cheers!

I'm no expert, friend, but I'm in a similar position to you work-wise and from what I've gathered, you'd apply as a freelancer, and you'd have to become an "autónomo" in Spain, because technically you're not an employee. And you don't need an established business in your home country, but the company you work for, which would be like your client in a way, needs to be an established company with more than a year of existence

Can you kindly advise on two things - how does the letter of the employer look like? I have three different contracts and my annual income is between 45,000$ to 72,000$, depending on the seasons and business. I have independent contractor agreements and been working with the three of them more than two years. I need to know if i have to prove a certain fixed amount from each or i can simply prove that each employer pays a certain fee for each servive and use the invoices to show the amount of requests I use
One of these employers wont provide me with this visa and another one will provide me with document proving they pay me 1200$ monthly. Do i need to prove how long will i keep this contract? These contracts are open and renewal is not guaranteed.

Once I get this visa, do I have to spend at least 183 days per year in Spain? Or is it enough to have a local address and I am free to travel in other countries?

What if applied and got rejected and went back to my country of origin, is it going to affect my chances of getting a Schengen visa again ? Will it be reflected on the immigration system that applied for that residency and got rejected ? Or the embassy got no access to this system ?

Did I read correctly when they said you had to have €25,000 in your bank account? That's a lot of money! They obviously don't want to attract that many people if they're asking that much up front.

he didn't say you need to have that saved in your bank account in order to get the visa approved
