    YES Mabel chicken eyes were a problem for me too! I have ended up making them my baby safe item and stitching eyes on instead 😂

      oooh i might try that out as well! the washers are working for me but its an extra piece i have to buy for the chickens. i've never embroidered eyes though so it might take me some trial and error haha

    I stopped burning my safety eyes bc the plastic would get too brittle and break, this happened with a few gift plushies so it wasn't just a one time thing. so now I use fabric glue and glue behind the eye before I pop on the washer, and that seems to be the trick that's worked best for me! it stiffens the crochet just enough and glues everything in place so it doesn't come apart and it takes a heavier beating before the eye will come out. someone would really have to work away at it to get the eyes to come out with this method. I think you can hot glue them as well but that seems to be a little messier to me and harder to control than fabric glue.

    Hii! If you remember me, I was one of the other crochet booths at fan expo boston :)
    Love seeing folks document their artist alley experience and hearing your thoughts about it at the end, it makes the whole process feel a lot less lonely haha

      hii yes ofc i remember you! :) totally agree - i love watching other artist alley vloggers and learning from their experiences!! i feel like its difficult for us crochet/fiber artists to compare though since a lot of AA vloggers usually work in other mediums so they typically have way more product than us so hopefully this will be good documentation for myself and other craft artists too :p
      also hoping we can grab coffee soon :D

    For crocheting at events I don’t do it with the intention of replenishing stock, I just do it to keep my hands busy and be working towards the NEXT event. So basically when I crochet on the go I do things that I can add eyes to and stuff later. Leggy frogs are perfect for that for me, but I also do bees, the pieces for turtles and am planning on doing chickens when I am in hospital later this year! 😀
    I know you don’t get the satisfaction of finishing it straight away, but I could never remember to take stitch markers, eyes, lighter, stuffing etc 🤩

    • @Crochetwithcon
      @Crochetwithcon  5 месяцев назад

      that makes total sense! i brought all the materials with me just to barely work on anything because i was stumped haha i'll probably stick to items like chickens where i can FO without needing to add eyes and stuffing yet. and i dont want to overstep but hope you are doing well and that your hospital visit goes smoothly!

      @@Crochetwithcon yeee! Hopefully it works for you too 🤩 I admire people who manage to remember to take everything to markets and add to their stock while they’re there, but it’s just not gunna be me unfortunately 😂
      And Thankyou! So kind of you - it’s actually an exciting hospital visit this time. I’m pregnant with our first child and it’s going to be a complex birth so it’ll be a bit of a stay. I can’t wait to meet him though! 🤩💕

    This is going to be a long comment so i apologize in advance lol
    I am in my 50's and due to a horrible car accident almost 20 years ago I am now disabled. For the past 11 years I have been making hair bows. I have over 400 designs that are available at all times so I have to batch make each character/print of 20-30 each so I don't have to turn right around and remake the same character after each event. ANYWHO The car accident I was in I braced myself with my arms against the dash and by the "laws of physics" I should have broken both of my arms but instead it smashed the carpal tunnel in both of my hands. I have had surgery on both hands. Any time I mention pain in my hands/wrists people always suggest carpal tunnel as the culprit which it's NOT. I have developed arthritis in the backs of my hands/fingers and wrists. I wear a brace on both hands and from someone who has dealt with chronic pain from my spine, hip and knee (I had my hip replaced twice due to the accident. still need a knee replacement and spinal surgery but the hip was a shhhhhh*t show so I'm not hopping on an operating table anytime soon) So all this to say over the counter meds do NOT usually work for me due to the prescription meds I am now on daily. The Equate Walmart brand arthritis cream is the ONLY thing I have found that helps to relieve the aching pains in my hands. It does NOT GET HOT it's not like the typical pain reliever creams that heat up and don't work. This stuff is under $5 and the most amazing stuff and I know pain, I don't recommend things easily!

      hii - first of all i wanted to say thank you for sharing and being vulnerable!! i'm so sorry to hear that you were in a car accident that left you with chronic pain. it must've been a difficult adjustment, but i'm glad that there are meds and other creams that help relieve some of that pain. i'll be sure to check out the Equate cream you mentioned. i'll have to be better at taking care of my wrists and making sure i'm not taking them for granted

    Is there a pattern for the Zoro 👉🏾👈🏾

    • @Crochetwithcon
      @Crochetwithcon  5 месяцев назад +1

      hii so i frankensteined my zoro together from different patterns so i can't make/sell it as my own but i used @amiguruku 's luffy pattern, modded it to zoro's outfit, and then used @LanitasDelRey 's zoro keychain pattern on YT and modded the hair to fit amiguruku's pattern.
      however, i saw @amiguruku just released a zoro pattern of her own so you should check that one out! :)
