Most people seem to forget that Adrien was only allowed to go to school AFTER his mother disappeared. Gabriel maybe extremely controlling and neglectful but we know with a little coaxing from Nathalie, he’s probably way more lenient than Emilie who never permitted her son outside.
According to Miraculous Secrets, Gabriel didn't let him go out AFTER his mother "died". Before that he could go to Chloe's place on his own without a bodygaurd following him everywhere. Then we get the origins episode and Gabriel finally managed to let him go to school.
@@edogawaconan4869 what I mean is school and making friends, Adrien was only allowed to be friends with Chloe and meet up with her. After his mother ‘died’ he was allowed more freedom than he had when his mother was around.
@@sirichandanaakarapu378 Disagree. Adrien had friends (Chloe, sometimes Felix) and he only wasn't allowed out when little. It's understandable they would want to protect him. After all, his parents are rich and famous.
honestly, I get so mad at MLB fans that say Adrien isn't being abused, and he only has a control freak as a father!!! like what the heck, the kid has no dreams of his own!!!!!! maybe he hasn't been hurt physically but has mentally and psychologically.
Ikr, I think lots of people have this mindset where mental and psychological abuse is not actual abuse because it is not physical which is,,, no it's not????? Mental and psychological abuse are still abuse
All we need is a group of either new villains or hawk moth and his akumatized minions calling adrien and chat noir Ki-I mean marinette’s buffoonish sidekick
That scene in Wishmaker where Adrien just wanted to do what both of his parents wanted him to do said it all. At least Gabriel's let his son go OUT OF THE HOUSE and to school, regardless of his motivations. It'd be ironic if Emily got the butterfly / peacock miraculous if she comes back too.
Kinda felt with Wishmaker it implied Adrian wanted to be what his parents wanted to be implied he wanted theme to love him for what he is showing he put himself to impossible standers like Chloe wanting people approval and social acceptance which backfired
@@tmntepisodesyoutubechannel531 I think it was meant to be him wanting their love and acceptance and the baby part is a part of him wanting to go back to his happy moments
I think Adrien’s parents were never satisfied. Good enough was never good enough. So Adrien wanted to satisfy his parents and be what his wanted him to be. And also his parents don’t seem to give him any love or affection. So he most likely thought “If I be what my parents want me to be, I’ll satisfy them and they’ll love me.”
That's exactly how narcissistic parent/child relationships work. So much more rational than, 'he's a sentimonster.' Like if you look at Zuko in A:TLA it's the same thing. The fact that Adrien has no dreams is not a clue, and if it is it's only proof this show is badly written.
You know what would be really disappointing for a season/series finale? If Adrian‘s mother gets brought back, it turns out she was super nice, and that all of the things we’ve heard about in the show about Adrian being isolated and clues about him being emotionally abused by his parents was just cartoon blah, put in there too make people feel bad for Adrian for little reason and give the writers of the show an excuse not to write him a better backstory. Not that I want Adrian to have been an abused child, but considering all of the context clues we have gotten about his childhood, it would just be disappointing if they all came out to be nothing. Not to mention the messages and awareness The writers could give About such treatment toward children, in the show. Thoughts?
Knowing writers and ESPECIALLY Thomas Astruc: 1. It is gonna be more focused on Marinette 2. Adrien is gonna forgive his father like the little saint they portray him to be, after some time of course 3. All of neglect and abuse towards Adrien won't matter, maybe a little, as the show hates Adrien
@2071Johnny It's not that we want it to be true. It's just that it would make sense if it were true. I'm fine with it going either way. It'd be tragic for Adrien and it'd be sad to watch him go through something like that, but it would be interesting if she wasn't as awesome as they made her out to be. When we look at Gabriel, it's kind of obvious he's abusive. He's cold, distant, harsh, etc. So if she were to be a villain/anti-hero, I would want her to be manipulative and subtle. She seems like she'd be that type of person if she was not the best person. This could be a way to bring awareness to how some children are treated and show that it's not okay.
I think it would be cool if: a) Adrian's mom turns out to be the actual main bad guy. Even better if Gabriel "brings her back" but she is actually possessed by some kind of an evil spirit or whatever, and that spirit isn't actually Adrian's mom. Or b) While trying to resurrect her, Gabriel struggles to control the powers of the miraculous and somehow turns into a weird monster that would lead to the final battle and the end of the series. But I'm pretty sure that won't happen, since I also feel like the creator/s would do that and ruin the show. After the whole thing with Chloe and how they had to ruin Adrian in order to give Marinette character development, I lost most of my faith in this show ngl.
I have always felt like Emilie isn't the angel adrien deems her to be. In the episode Simon says gabriel says acat noir's temper reminded him of Emilie......So it would be interesting to know who has been the real villain all along
Earlier in the show (when I saw the Simon says episode for the first time/ when it aired for the first time ), I thought that Gabriel was speaking about Adrien´s temper before Emilie "disappeared" and left them both broken inside that made Gabriel become Hawk Moth at some point (a year or so after Emilie "disappeared" as we know now) and Adrien to be less rebellious, thinking that his mom left them because of him, how he was not good enough and wasn´t as obedient as he is now... But this is a whole other level of realization @GAMERBOY YT It goes way deeper if you think about Emilie when Gabriel says that Chat Noir´s temper reminds him of someone and when you add to that the face Chat is making after that statement...it just hits on a different tune and it is worse than my first impression when S1 was the only season that we had to go on about so far. But now after the story giving more and more hints from S2, S3, and S4 (especially after ep Wishmaker) throughout the years I kind of came to fear for poor Adrien´s future and the plan the writers have for my fav kitty cat...I mean, thankfully he is "the main side character" in this show with the purpose of being the holder of the cat miraculous so at least he can have some fun being whoever he wants to be (he can be himself with the freedom of an ally cat and without the Agrest chains of manipulation and restrictions for his true self for the first time in his life) so at least that is something, I guess...but still, the future of the story could be a lot kinder to him. Adrien deserves to be truly happy without that fake modeling smile and better birthday gifts from his father/Natalie (you can never know if she was or wasn´t the one giving him those pens before - if Gabriel asked her to give his son a birthday gift from him once, there is no guarantee he didn´t ask her to do the same before).
@@Roi4Nekoshi I also wanted to think Emilie wasn't as bad as Gabriel but after Wishmaker I can't. Adrien's dreamed of being who his PARENTS wanted him to be can be read in three different ways: 1 He is a sentimonster that was controlled by Emilie 2 His parents didn't pay him much attention so he became super obedient to make them love him or 3 His parents were controlling and discouraged him from having any dreams of his own. I personally think it is number 3.
@@sotakovatereza352 I still want to believe otherwise because if not, than that is real sad for poor Adrien and I am sorry for him as in that case he never knew the loving and carring side of a family as it should be - as everyone deserves to feel loved and cared for...and there are families like that in the RW too, whitch is truelly sad and dissapoiting to know, because that only show us that majority of "our beloved" human race has became a real big dirty trash can full of a sh*tty character of a parenthood... Sorry for the bad language but even when I know and want to believe in a better side of us humans, there is still a lot of trashy people by character and I have met a lot more of those in my life then the good and better ones, so if you are offended by my opinion, I am sorry but...it is just my personal POV🙃
At least Lusamine is indicated to be sane before Daddy Aether went to fetch milk, and the fact that said alien Pokémon is injecting poison into her brain that made her the way she was when we do meet her
From Adrien's memories and talks of his mother, she seems to be a very caring and loving person. What would absolutely amaze me, and also sadden me, would be that Emile is the manipulative type. Like, she controlled Adrien by getting him attached to her, allowing her to make him do anything she wants. While I don't want my sunshine boy to have even more suffering done to him, I think a plot like that would be extremely interesting. All the foreshadowing of her being an amazing mother gets contradicted when you learn things like Adrien not being allowed to go to school, having like only two friends growing up or lacking any sort of childhood dream.
I agree that both the Agreste parents can be bad parents, and I also agree that Emilie might be worse than Gabriel. Gabriel have allow Adrien to go to school and have friends, even if he is still making his life busy. All after Emilie have ‘disappear.’ I think the type of person Emilie might be is that she is a manipulator on emotional and mental skills. She was the one who manipulated Adrien to be selfless and be the son they want him to be. Probably say something along the line of “We want you to be successful in life,” or “We just want what’s best for you” to excuse their actions. And I wouldn’t be surprise if Adrien had say no or rebel in the past, but Emilie guilt-trips him to feel guilty for thinking of himself. That would be what led to Adrien’s doormat traits he has today. Plus in the Shanghai special, Gabriel has said he have been searching for the Prodigious for fifteen years. Most of those times when Emilie was still around. So that would mean Emilie was involve with the Miraculous business for a long time, and not in a positive light considering the word ‘searching.’ I really hope we get a flashback or at least more informations about Emilie in the Gabriel Agreste episode, and I also hope she turns out to be the new villain because if it were true, she probably be a better villain than Gabriel whose slow in his goal, in which Emilie is faster and more ruthless.
Theory : What if after reviving Emily ,Gabriel puts himself in the position of emily (dead/coma) and the new hawkmoth is Emily. if I am not wrong there was a spoiler saying that the new hawkmoth will be a person who has always been in the show and she has never spoken but still her presence was shown
@@YurtunusSir Would be not as weird if it happens post Hawkmoth reveal tho since he'd then know about how the miraculouses can bring people back to life and know that was his father's goal all along.
Adrien could be the New Hawkmoth after he finds out the Truth to save his Family. And Yes i know their a Catnoir in the Future but that could be a Brand New Catnoir after Ladybug manages to get the Two Miraculous back.
You have to wonder why Emile used the peacock miraculous to the extent of putting herself in a coma when her and Gabe are living large in the lap of luxury. Like... what more could they possibly want by using miraculous?
@@everythinggirly916 That was my initial assumption but it seems so cartoonish even for this show lol... but given the writers' track record, I wouldn't be that shocked if that turns out to be the case. Poor Adrien though, having both his parents be evil villains rip
@@s-ss51 But the peacock miraculous is fixed and no longer harms the user. Though I guess she's too sick in general from all that use while it was corrupted to use it now.
@@PrismOpal64 im suprised she could even use the broken miraculous as long as she did, i thought 2 uses and she woild be gone, this just proves how strong she is
Little note on the pen gifts. Pretty sure those were always Natalie. Gabriel forgets to get Adrien a gift every year so he asks Natalie to sort it last minute and she literally just takes a pen from her desk. She got lucky with Marinettes gift.
I think people seem to forget that Adrien's childhood dream has more layers than just him being what his parents want him to be, but also what he craves more is his parents love because if it means that his childhood dream is to be what his parents want him to be it means that to get their love and affection he has to be what they want him to be, it's pretty much saying that either be like we want you to be or you will not be love what so ever. Not to mention I think that Emily is just as abusive as Gabriel, or at least more because the reason why Adrien talks so highly of his mother has to do with the fact that Emilie is dead/disappeared because people tend to only remember and think of the person in a positive light. When you talk about anything negative from their life, it's sometimes brought up in a joking way. When you think about Emilie, she is an actress, so she could've used her skills in acting to manipulate Adrien to make it seem what she's doing is for love and make it seem that Gabe is the bad guy and not her; she loves him and is there for him, it kind of reminds me of Lila with what she's trying to do to get Adrien all to herself with is probably why Adrien can see through her.
Hmmm what if Gorilla is Emelie's sentimonster to protect Adrien? I feel like she might be corrupt and a controlling parent, but she could be less willing to put other people in risks compared to Gabriel (who went insane because she went into a comma, she has no reason to be THAT evil). Plus I feel like her powers can be more dangerous as sentimonsters can blend in easily unlike akumas, so there might be lots of sentimonsters out there that she made for whatever mission she wanted to pursue before she went into a comma. Tho honestly I feel like i'm reading too much into it and giving the writers too much credit 😂
To me Émilie IS THE REAL VILLAIN OF THE SHOW. Maybe she wanted to take the whole Miraculous Box like Master Fu, but she got sick and can't go after the Box (maybe she is DESCENDANT of the Mage), so; she induced Gabriel who was a great father to look for the box in her place, but she died because of the jewelry damage) and he found that the Miraculous (principally 🐞&🐈⬛) could also resurrect people, but he just needed to find them first than some monk or Guardian.
Honestly I agree with the chance that Emily being evil as well. In the Wishmaker episode where you get that flashback picture, it got me thinking a lot. I had written this theory before and somewhere else but I hope you all don't mind me sharing it here as well. So here it goes! That damned picture with baby Adrien and his parents, I can't just over look that picture and think that it's nothing but an error. I refused, because if that's the case, they would have cut it out or something to fix it. But they still kept it in. Yes many would argue with me that, the artwork was really a slip up from the artist's part, and even Thomas had told us that is nothing important. I might be paranoid about it but what if it's something intentional that has a secret and deep meaning behind it? Theory: When I had seen it, it was so strange because of Gabriel's look and the switched eye colour. Then I once saw a theory that is including every single detail that are on that picture. Like Adrien reaching for the star while Emily has the moon by her side and Gabriel has the cloud on his side. Emily with blue eyes while the moon was hanging on her left side. . . And the first thing that popped into my mind was Chat Blank. Could it be that maybe the reason Emily got the moon and the blue eyes, maybe has something to do with Chat Blanc in a way, his return manye, or at least has some sort of a connection to it in a symbolic way? Or that maybe Emilie is actually the villain this whole time or it will be revealed in the future? That she is not the prefect little angel that Adrien and Gabriel describes and remember. . . ? But thinking about it more, she was the reason everyone got into this whole mess. . . She is in the coma and that caused the chain reactions to happen. . . so what will happen next if she will be brought back. . . that's still a mystery to me. . . but I have some creative ideas that has no happy endings. . . How convenient that there will be also a new episode, which will be named as 'Dearest Parents' and that happens to be the episode that is happening before the Special Episode. . . . Maybe there is a chance that we will meet Chat Blank. . . and Maybe in the Gabriel Agreste episode, we will finally get out answer about Emily, and who she really is. For Gabriel to have that cloud and green eyes, maybe that would indicate that his mind is clouded. Meaning at one point, Gabriel was, just maybe normal, but once he discovered the miraculouses, he became a greedy, which could have easily lead to another chain of events maybe. . . Like resulting the coma in the first place, but that's just a small possibility. Either way, Gabriel became devastated and soon desperate to bring her back. However, the farther he goes on the path he follows, the more he will be stuck in the fog, maybe becomes even more greedier. Or he is so blinded by the love he has for his wife. Either way, the results are the same. He is too blinded by all this that he can't see the truth anymore. And maybe his green eyes are indicating toward Adrien in a way, since his mind is also somewhat clouded in a way, which blocks him from the truth he is looking for in his own life. Speaking of eyes, could that also be why Gabriel's eyes are a bit hollow? I mean okay dark greyish-blue eyes, but he also has that darker shadow part on the top, making it look like he had lost a part of his soul. . . And as for baby Adrien. . . his baby hands reaching for the stars which would indicate to this quote that says "Reach for the moon, even if you fall short, you'll land among the stars. . ." or this "I have to dream and reach for the stars, and if I miss a star then I grab a handful of clouds." or "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for stars." There are many quotes that I had found and most of them has either the cloud or the moon in it. . . So Emily is the Moon that is far out of his reach, Gabriel is the cloud that he can still able to touch but Baby Adrien does not reach for him nor the moon, He is reaching for the star above him. . .
I don't believe Thomas would blurt it out saying THIS IS A BIG POINT haha and I wonder is that really Gabriel? We haven't seen Felix's father. So why Felix and Adrien have the same looks and everything, except that one is good and the other is bad...
Tbh, I don’t really have any faith in Thomas Astruc’s writing, it’s not exactly the best, which is why complicated theories are probably wasted on the show. Btw it’s Chat Blanc, not blank.
Adrien doesn’t know what a good childhood is especially since he’s been surrounded with a friend with an absent parent (chloes mum) and a friend which also didn’t have a good childhood
I've always wondered if there was some sort of merit to Adrien saying that Gabriel was "good until Emilie disappeared". Gabriel seems incredibly codependent on Emilie so I don't think their relationship was all that well and good. Either way, bad parents all around.
That's what I've been saying! She's so crowded with mystery and the fact that she let Adrien be isolated is just NO. As far as we know, Adrien's family is creepy and are probably crazy too so I won't be surprised if she's actually worse than any Agreste or Graham De Vanile. Geez, someone. Pls take Adrien away from those people. He's gonna lose it.
Completely unrelated to this video but you speaking about searching Gabriel’s house made me realize just how big brain it was to put buttons on the painting. As an art buff myself I would never dream of touching a painting full-on. And with his reputation that would be taken as a major no-no.
probably NOBODY cares and needs to know this but i relate to adrien so much- - forced piano, language, martial arts, dance, etc - controlling parents - no childhood dreams - private school all my life (yes even now) - only 1 bestie that i've known since 3 (dont get me wrong i love her) - a dad that's literally an asian gabriel agreste and an aunt that would be nathalie - a pretty pure/nice person overall so if anyone needs a living female adrien.. here i am 🤠🤠
I never really thought about people's lives actually being like his. At least there is no possibility that you r a sentimonster. And your father isn't fricking hawkmoth.
Crazy theory: what if emilie actually wanted adrien to have a normal childhood, but gabriel was kind of an abusive husband and didn’t let her have a say, so what if emilie was using the miraculous to get away from gabriel and ended up fall sick and going into a coma…
I had a theory that Emilie was going to die even BEFORE she used the broken miraculous. But she used it BECAUSE she was going to die anyway and wanted to leave a sentimonster behind to take her place... Specifically.... Natalie. A sentimonster SO strong she is more human than sentimonster. Which if his wish gets granted without a loss, we get that whole revelation... Imagine hawkmoth finding this out and realizing he WASTED his time, that he should have spent that time WITH his son instead.
@@electrobob992 Though it's an interesting theory, we know that Nathalie has been with the Agreste's for quite some time and was the one who found the miraculouses for them.
I viewed as he was mature at a young age and he decided to impress his parents from the get go but did not comprehend how unhealthy it is. Considering how Adrien never badmouths his mom makes me think the situation is more complicated than it looks. Maybe Emelie did try to help him as best as she could but was trapped in her situation as well. Maybe I just do not want both of his parents to be controlling or evil.
I think Emilie being villainous as well would be an AMAZING twist. Especially if Gabriel turns out to not have known about it & pulls the "I know I was bad but, Emilie-darling!‐ this is too far!"
The thing about Wishmaker and Adrien is that the transformation 2D thing was of him as a baby. Baby’s don’t have childhood dreams outside of eat, poop, sleep and entertain me. I’m convinced that his ‘be what my parents want me to be’ thing is a interpretation of that. They could of been clever and said his childhood dream was being a model (which would of made his father happy) and he doesn’t remember it because he’s been doing it since childhood so couldn’t remember it being a dream
So does this mean he wants to be a baby? XD I'm sure his parents did say something... and this has a mirrored Peter Pan vibes. In HOOK (1991 flim), the setting was Peter didn't want to be his mother's expectations. In this case, Adrien turns out to be the OPPOSITE of Peter Pan. He wants to become what they said.
@@edogawaconan4869 I wouldn't say it was that far, as wish makers power spends more time affecting the immediate moment and what its targets wanted to be when they were children there and than There are many layers as to what Adrien's dream could be, if it is to be what his parents want him to be, and if Gabriels specific vision was modeling and as Emilie is in a coma right now, we don't know what her side of the vision for his future is which could be addressed in one of the two films, or seasons 5-7 Wishmaker's ability can only work on single facets where it is a straight path, as Adrien's is a more multifaceted path where it is as it is stated, Wishmaker has a harder time using his powers as if you're living for others how would a person live his own life path? Since the ability does as it does by force even if the target doesn't remember what the dream is, Wishmaker has no control over his own stars regardless of whether or not it is actually being enjoyed or not the major weakness being he has no offensive capabilities like with his creator Shadow Moth (previously Hawk Moth as that suit has already been established as unable to attack or go on offense and was intended for defense) and as shadow moth can be on offense and actually fight with duusuu's help where with nooroo alone he is unable to engage in open combat for a very long time, and Wishmaker can not undo his own ability when the dreams are reality, his abilities don't work once they attain realization where he's useless on offense where this champion has to know when to defend So going back to Adrien being multifaceted where he hasn't really mapped out his own life path, wish makers abilities stop because he's useless on offense, dream realization which is his power is only able to work when a dream is specifically known and can attain reality, as Adrien didn't have anything to attain reality with a dream to call his, Wishmaker's powers stop at that moment
What if Emily was controlling? Adrien didnt go to school when she was around. Gabriel let him. What if she made Gabriel think he cant live without her so hes in chains to her...?
“My childhood dream was the be what my parents wanted me to be,” he says that quote so cheerfully but… it’s so sad it hurts. This poor child has literally never had any individual ambitions, his whole existence revolves around how he can please his parents. Even if Emily was the more warm loving parent when Adrien was around that just smells narcissistic parents to me and I am not okay with that.
Of course miraculuos made it way into giving up on redemption arc, but I don't feel like Gabriel is unredemeble. I will list a points, easier that way for me: 1. He is capable of putting lives of people he cares about above his main goal. Many people commented on fact that he wacked Black Cat in CHat Blanc episode, but he knows the power of miraculuos, so he probably knew how hard can he hit without actually hurting him. And he let go of Ladybug once, because he wanted her to save his son, wich speeks to me in HIGH VOLUMES. If he is capable of doing that even once just for the sake of his son, without any futher goal in mind, he can incorporate this into his behaviour permamently. And he does this not only for his son or family. He does this for Nathalie as well. Saving her instead of going against Ladybug, when they both rushed towards people they cared for, shows that he is able not only to care for his son, but to also form a relationship with human beings. He also cares for her outside, forbiding her from using Peocock miraculuos just because she can hurt herself (for time, but he allowed this bcs she was persistent, not because he wanted to). He is capable of caring for people more than his goals and forming somewhat loving relationships, so yeah, he is able to change. 2. With Emily out of picture, Gabriel actually allowed Adrien to have some freedom and get socialize. Most of the time he is bad parent, but more and more he incorporates traits of an actual father. So with enough patience and help from outside people he respects, like Nathalie (who we know arranged Adriens schedule so he CAN go to school, so she clearly has a influence on him) he can actually change for a better parent. I am not saying he should not face consequences for his bad acions, or that damage on Adrien's life is not done already, but for future, he can at least stop being a jerky father, and maybe become an actual grandfather. 3. Not many people seem to pick up on fact that Gabriel wasn't just born rich. We know from one of the episodes he was some random designer who was made famous with help of Chloe's mom. So he might be normal man thrown into wealthy, spoiled enviroment that influenced him, maybe even at quite young age, maybe he was like Marinette at first, but thru people like Chloe's mom he became what we know. And that got me thinking, what if Emily was one of the bad influences on Gabriel. What if she was the one to actually create this isolated enviroment and drag Gabriel to this. Gabriel reacts almost agressivly to the idea of "replacing" Emily in his life, so what she made him codependand on her, as much as Adrien was codependant on his parents. Maybe thats why Gabriel is actually able to sometimes show true father traits with her out of picture. Dead wife in a healthy relationship leds to moaning her for some time and then moving on with your life. If Gabriel wasn't born this way but made like this by bad influence, good influence can at least partially reverse the cards. All this makes me perceive that redemption arc would not come out of blue, if any is planned.
That's interesting. I don't think he is unredeemable and for me in Chat Blanc, he was out of character. He showed multiple times in the show that he doesn't want to hurt people he cares about. Also, he could easily akumatize Adrien everyday if he wanted to, but he doesn't. Now I do believe he deserve to go to jail for the rest of his life, but it would be cool if they gave him a redemption arc (a real arc, not something they throw at us) that allows Adrien to forgive him.
@@dejonaiburton5284 In the Origin we learn that the only Adrien's friends were Cloe and Felix (or we don't know somethink) and he didn't go to school before where we know. His mother is gone for a year. So, it is certain that his mother at least allowed this to occur, althouth it is possible that Adrien didn't fell the need of more socializing until he lost her and is possible that Gabriel is responsible for all of this while Emily is truly good person. But for all evidence, it don't seem she is saint.
@@mathuraphael9196Emilie is sorta shady, but seemed to be a good mother, so she could be morally grey. Yes, because she was overprotective. Homeschooling isn't isolation. It's not like he was even forbidden from interacting with the other kids when he went for things like basketball, unlike Kagami where she was literally forbidden from making friends.
Gabriel was a super interesting character with a really interesting and morally grey moral compass. But the writers shafted his development in cat Blanc for the sake of an easy plot. Sigh, hopefully the prequel comic does his character some justice.
so was emily as angelic as she was remembered? This kinda reminds me of rose quartz in steven universe who we were led to believe was a saint until later on in the series we learnt she wasn't as perfect as we were led to believe.
I am absolutely so in love with the new season! They have done great at making sure it's full of action, nothing repetitive, and kept it very entertaining! I'm glad they've also worked hard to build up on smaller and less major characters and their stories as I really wanted to know more about backstories of more minor characters. Amazing so far!
My impression was that in the Agreste family, Gabe controls both Emilie and Adrien. When she 'died' and Gabe focussed on bringing her back his controlling of Adrien got less effective. So Adrien (now without the loving influence of his mother) just feels the cold control of Gabe, and rebels. Thats what i think the show runs with. But I get really suspicous about what Gabe and Emilie did while they both used their miraculous. What were they up to? Is that how they got their fame & fortune? So they kept Adrien close so that they could protect/control him? Very weird. Did they have a goal in mind about their family that required focus and control on all aspects? This would be extended to Adriens childhood too. Hoping we get some clarification this season!
To be fair, Andre being nice to Zoe isn't him being a doormat. Audrey doesn't even care for Zoe. Plus, at the end of Sole Crusher, Audrey and Chloe tried to get Zoe kicked out the house while Andre found and excuse to let her stay.
Personal theory, but if Gabriel succeeds with waking up his wife the price he has to pay is probably gonna be he himself or maybe even Adrien going into that comma. Just a thought
Adrien reminds me A LOT of myself, and one thing I'd like to mention is that I agree about Emilie being a bad parent. I for one remember I used to think my mother was a great parent and stuff, kind of like how Adrien remembers her as such a good parent. But in reality I was just brainwashed. His dad on the other hand may be a bit bad (like mine) but a lot better than she was, but he feels otherwise because of being manipulated. That could explain why he deems her as such a good parent. I'm kinda rambling anyway-
Gabriel might of gotten worse since his wife "disappeared" though it seems like he was still a bad parent. I am wondering what would happen in the short term if he had told Adrien he is Hawk Moth, like he nearly did at the end of season 3. Adrien would have every right to yell at him and could list all the times he has nearly died or otherwise gotten targeted by a super villain as Adrien. Even his own room isn't safe as it has flooded while he was in there and his nightmares have come to life.
With how Amilie acts around Gabriel and the fact Adrien was only allowed to visit public school after his mom disappeared, I sure liked to think Emilie was basically about as controlled by her husband as Adrien is by his dad. Maybe a little more, a little less. But with his mom around, Adrien may also felt a little less of a need to have more contacts outside his home, as she provided some emotional warmth his dad never gave him. But it also never was enough to have him develop any dreams of his own or Emilie never contrasted her husbands demands/wishes.
And this kind of thing is exactly why Gabriel will move on from Emilie, marry Nathalie instead, and get Felix suspicious about the family and become his uncle's future successor vow revenge and try to revive his dad back to life BAM future Hawk Moth development here
there is a label in asia for parents like gabriel and emily: tiger moms. The only difference is that this family hires people to control the kids for them. honestly, i would not be surprised if adrien really was a sentient monster because it just sounds like his parents hid him from the world. The boy just wanted to do what his parents wanted him to do, he was accepting the isolation, and had no aspirations whatsoever. I hope there will be an episode where someone will confront these two about their son. yes, whoever will do that is being nosy but someone has to say it.
Also, talking about Felix, that does bring up a point about Emilie as well. Like, her sister rewarded Felix for his bad behavior and doesn't think theft from family is a big deal. Isn't she like Emilie's twin? What if Amelie also enabled Emilie's behavior since childhood? Like, made excuses for her, covered up for bad things Emilie did, etc?
8:29 If Gabriel were to combine the ladybug and the cat miraculous to make a wish, the entire history would be re-written, so Emelie "dying" would've never had happened. But this was probably posted before the episode Ephemeral, where they explained this buy I just wanted to say that.
Also I was just watching Simon says and when Cat Nior talks back and snaps at Gabriel he says he has “quite a temper” and “reminds him of someone” and then looks at the portrait of Emilie I definitely don’t think Emilie is some perfect angel
I do like the sentimonster theory that a lot of people have been having, but before you make a video on it, Thomas Astruc confirmed that Adrien is not a sentimonster
He never actually confirmed it was false (I keep up with all his tweets and all the sentimonster rules he mentioned still keep that theory alive), he did laugh at it though. But remember this is Thomas and we know sometimes he likes to joke and deny some things for the good of the show….
Adrian goes through all of this psychological and emotional abuse and he's still kind. And then you have people being dramatic over Chloe because her mum can't get her name right
fr he is the NICEST person in the ENTIRE show even tho he's been emotionally abused and his mother just died, but people (especially in the gacha community) like to villainize him. Like he's the biggest cinnamon roll ever like wth?
Gabriel is the distant, strict parent, but I feel Emily would've been the helicopter parent. So even if Adrien wanted to go out into the world, she may have went all Mother Gothel on him. Actually now that I've said that, I really do think it. Since Rapunzel was a doormat until she met Flynn and experienced the world. So Gabriel who's just blunt and wants to protect his son (in some cases, not many though) and Emily could've been secretly a very manipulative person.
Great video I knew that Gabriel was a terrible father from the start, but I honestly hoped that his wife was at least better than him and more loving. But, after watching a lot of videos about Emily Agreste I was SO WRONG I seriously want Gabriel to be arrested for all the terrorizing to the parisian and lose custody of everything he owns even Adrien. (I'm sure Nino would have him stay at his place or his bodyguard could take him in) Also do you think you can do a video about how shady the rich parents are or rank which parents in Miraculous are the worst?
Theory: If Gabriel wishes for Emilie to come back, he will lose Adrien. So bunnix will go back in time and alter the past so that Gabriel never gets the miraculous and they defeat him.
The 3 theory of Adrian being a senty monster might be possible because in the episode which the villain used his own power (catechism) an Adrian he didn't become dust or died, just like I senty monster, they don't die or become dust they just become corrupted and week... .
Season 5 finale: Gabriel was seen and celebrated as a hero because Ladybug (?) told the world he helped defeat Monarch and had a statue built in his honor before making his wish and dying. So you guessed right.
All points are valid and on point, Gabriel is a much better parent then Emilies sister, his given Adrien freedom and sometimes even if unintentionally scolds his son for doing something wrong, but Felix didn't even get a warning glare for his obvious theft of Gabriel's ring when he clearly wasn't parting with it knowingly
I. HAVE. NO. DREAMS. EITHER. watching this made me realize how much i relate to adrien.. my dad's such a gabriel agreste and my mom's basically a lost cause- controlling parents squad 😀✌️
@@Allthingsasian thanks.. life is a bit better now that my parents have been divorced for 3 years (oh also my dad has cancer now sooo things are just taking a turn for the worst)
To 100% be fair with the pen, if Adrien’s room was decked out by his parents, then birthday gifts in particular may not be worth their time unless it’s like a responsibility thing like most parents. “Getting him a pen will make him into a shining young business man.” To also be fair with the childhood dreams, this could also be why Gabriel has his schedule so packed, maybe because Adrien himself said he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. I mean in both cases those were the wrong type of answers, but they seem to be in an attempt to help Adrien.
@@lilymadkins3558 That must be wrong tranalation or something because it's different in english. How could his father had forgotten his birthday every year when in the Bubbler he remembered it and asked Nathalie to get him a present? Not to mention that not remembering birthdays is Chloe's mom. It must be a mix up.
With the childhood dream thing it wasn't like he didn't have his own interests. He said he likes anime, gaming and was shown to like fencing. With the pen to it could be Gabriel thinking that Emilie would get him a present, so he wouldn't have to bother much.
@@dejonaiburton5284 I just rewatched the ending scene of Bubbler, there Adrien literally says "D'habitude, il oublie tout le temps le jour de mon anniversaire" (translation: "he usually forgets my birthday all the time") to Nino when addressing the scarf, so no I didn't get mixed up. Also the original script is written in French so if there's anything wrong or mistranslated, it's the English dub.
My theory is: Luka found out cat noirs and ladybugs identity in “wishmaker” so I think if Luka gets akumatized, he would go straight to adrien’s and marinette’s house to get them. And marinette hadn’t created the magical charm, in the episode of “truth” and luka hadn’t gotton the Magical charm. And I think marinette and adrien wouldn’t expect that coming, and that’s when bunnix comes in. Sorry for the long theory
Honestly, this makes me think about the fact that the only enrichment in Adrien's London prison cell in season 5 was a foosball table, and think that that was actually him trying. Gabriel did the bare ass minimum for his son by walking into his room, taking note of exactly one thing, and deciding that he'll include it in his ace parenting plans for ruining Adrien's life.
i like how the comments section is filled with more crazy theories, including making random people sentimonsters. imo, i don't like touching the whole sentimonster border of theories, so i'll just keep it simple here. good video as always, nice to ser that the clips are back!
Or perhaps Gabriel and Emilie were both villains way earlier on, but not evil parents, just not good parents. Given the social circles they moved in and how many people there neglect their parents - like Chloes mother - or are controlling - like Kagami's mother - they might have well been - at least as parents - a product of upperclass society. They could have had good intentions but in execution they utterly failed at keeping Adrien both safe and happy. I'm just saying that apart form the "no dreams" part of the season four - keeping in mind children pick up their dreams from media and the things they see around them. If he were kept away from anything the parents might have deemed dangerous, even this could have explained why he only really thought of being what his parents wanted him to be. Or, what his parents "wanted him to be" could have been "what his parents assumed would be a good job for him" and they might just have serious miscommunication issues, because being a parent definitely isn't easy or something people will automantically be perfect, or even good at.
I'm conflicted by it. At first I don't think the writers would make such a plot twist and make Émilie a villain. I see it more like this : she stays dead or is shortly resurrected but only to refuse that the consequences of such a wish. She happened to be loving and caring. However I think it would make sense. Gabriel didn't raise his son along, and there is probably a reason why she is using the miraculous (please, not the sentimonster theory, I'm tired of people talking about it as if it was confirmed).
Gabriel is a weird, abusive dude. He wants to revive his wife with the miraculous so that they can be a family together but in doing so, he’s putting his own son’s life on the line
As someone who was homeschooled until the 7th grade, I got way more social interaction homeschooling than when I started going to school. Homeschooling you have so many more clubs and events and playdates and you usually end up ahead in school to the point where you can skip grades if you want to. You can learn at your own speed without a class of 30+ people holding you back or going too fast.
Crazy theory: what if emilie actually wanted adrien to have a normal childhood, but gabriel was kind of an abusive husband and didn’t let her have a say, so what if emilie was using the miraculous to get away from gabriel and ended up fall sick and going into a coma… I mean think about it, adrien remembers his mother so fondly, but his father he kind of dislikes for lack of a better word. So maybe gabe was a tyrant who was overly controling of his family and emilie wasn’t having it but didn’t want to leave because she wanted to be there for adrien. She maybe started using the miraculous and didn’t know the effects till it was too late.
It would be interesting to see if all along Emilie was just a very naive woman who only saw the good in others, which would explain the manipulative people she's associated with, as well as dealing with Gabriel's crap. Adrien is in a way made out to be similar to his mom, and we all know how forgiving he can be
@@-thestorypurrincess- it's been on my mind for a while now. Maybe Emilie was similar to Natalie and became so blinded by her love for Gabriel that she eventually took things too far
Nah it’s a good theory but I don’t think it’s going to happen- Emilie is probably just as bad. Gabriel being abusive to his wife from a writing standpoint would undermine the narrative of him wanting to bring Emilie back. I remember on Twitter someone had asked Astruc about the fact that Emilie never let Adrien out of the house and whether that would be explained, to which he replied that her personality will be heavily revealed in the prequel comic. The reason why they have not yet released the comic is probably because of spoilers of Emilie’s true personality. Vanily (Emilie’s maiden name) also translates to ‘persuasive’ and the peacock represents the idea of vanity- so it’s entirely possible that she’s very entitled and toxic and in fact she was the one who was toxic to Gabriel. After all both husband and son are completely obsessed with her which she may have enabled. You never know she may have even enabled Gabriel’s emotional neglect and the distance between Adrien and Gabriel in order to avoid them getting close- because that meant Emilie stopped being the centre of their world. This is just speculation but I doubt Emilie is an innocent victim- I would go as far to say that Adrien and even Gabriel are victims of her abuse and emotional manipulations.
Gabe has only gotten worse since his wife got fridged, he was straight up mentally torturing him in conformatory in the last episode. But since Emily isnt not alive anymore, we can see how bad she really is.
We know from the Time-Tagger episode that Gabriel isn’t Hawk Moth in the future. What if, Gabriel succeeds and brings Emilie back and then She double crosses him and becomes the new Hawk Moth. Another theory if Lila or Felix do but Emilie would be something no one would really expect.
If they redeem Gabriel and keep on saying Chloe is irredeemable, I'm gonna lose it! At least make it consistent and let him go to jail. Adrien could visit him and then aftee some time he could MAYBE see the errors of his ways. My personal theory is that when he wishes Emilie back to life, he switches places with her. That would at least be ironic, but I doubt they would really do it (without undoing ist later)
I think we can't pass judgement on his mom. I know wishmaker does make it look bad but unless we see what she was like it feels wrong to just decide she's controling without learning what she was really like.
The conversation at 8:40, I'm betting Gabriel's wish isn't just to bring his wife back. I'm betting that Gabriel wants to turn back time and prevent his wife from even going after the miraculous anyway. Because he knows if he wins it'll all just be erased anyway.
adrien’s defense of his mother reminds me of kousei from your lie in april, even though she was hurting him, he still wanted to believe it was them vs the world and she was doing what was right
My mom is a bit like them tbh. As a child, she did allow me to do things, but she would always badmouth my friends, my dreams, etc to the point where I stopped having them in order to please her. She's only ever happy if I did what she wanted, even now I'm an adult. I literally didn't go for my dream for a couple of years and tried studying accounting because I'm good with money and that's something she considers a 'proper career'. Whilst having no money herself, her sister does and she and her husband are even more Agreste-like. I hate my family, and thankfully I've found my inner Cat Noir and decided to just do what I want, even if I have to be all alone with no one to rely on. It's better then having no life.
Agreed. The reason Adrian doesn't have a childhood dream is likely because he's never even been asked that before in his life. Homeschooled and only child interactions with Chloe and Felix growing up. Nobody in his immidate social group growing up ever would have once consider that Adrian would have thoughts and feelings of his own to express. He's never known how to express himself, because nobody wanted or encouraged him to do so. If nobody else would have, why are people assuming Emilie was some angel? We have no proof that she was nice. All we know is Adrian is more devoted to her than his father, obviously because Gabriel is more distant. But that doesn't mean she was a good mom. By who her husband, sister, and friends are, I assume Emilie is somewhat similar to them and they're all not nice. As a kid who grew up poor in a rich county. I can verify that the richest of people are prone to the worst Psychological damage and Mental issues than the average human. Whether you're wicked like Felix, a villian like Gabriel, or completely lost like Adrian. The lifestyles of the rich and famous will destroy anyone's mental state.
I think a lot of his rebellious nature comes from being able to be his true self by being Cat Noir and by being able to have actual friends now. They empower him and give him the courage to stand up to his abusive father. 😊
I've heard some people say that Adrien remembers his mom's eyes as blue because Nathalie has blue eyes and he thinks of Nathalie as a mother (supported by the fact that he got super excited when he thought his dad was going to confess he and nathalie were in love and says that Nathalie is already family)
There is one thing I don’t get about Gabe. He currently has possession of a miraculous that grants anyone any power and a miraculous that basically manifests semi-OP imaginary friends into existence. Unless we’ll be getting a flashback episode that show failed attempts, I am seeing a huge plot hole behind this scheme of his. I can already imagine a couple of methods he could have done before even thinking of trying to get the red herring aka The Wish. Method 1: use butterfly miraculous to grant someone ability to heal any ailment, especially magic-induced kind. Method 2: use peacock miraculous to create a sentimonster, born from self-sacrificing-related emotions, to take on the affected persons burdens/ailments. Your thoughts?
Even though my childhood was rough and isolated at home, I still made a ton of friends and the earliest dream I remember is just… having a better life, making my dream family become true then I found the way to do that by sucking myself into my own stories. I enjoyed being in my own fantasies/ stories that my new dream at 12 was to share them with others and be an author. Even years later, I still hold onto that dream. I feel more bad for adrien than my own life
I know alot of people are saying they think Lila will be the next hawkmoth but what if it's Adriens mum who becomes the peacock miraculous holder and she's like avenging Gabriel somehow
i hope they show Adrien having more fun and open in more future episodes.. Adrien as Cat Noir is more confident because no one knows him and he's feels really free.
I genuinely believe Gabriel and his wife were good parents but when Adrian's mom got sick, Gabriel got controlling and bitter due to his desperate attempts to save his wife. And now hes so consumed by his goal to save her that he ignores Adrien. I think Adrien just wanted to do what his parents told him bc he loves them and he's a sweet kid. That's my thoughts anyway.
I have a feeling that the episode’s gonna play out like Gravity Falls: Not What He Seems, where cops are invading Adrien’s house, and the cops are finding out his identity, sending him to live with someone else, and then Adrien knows his identity.
There's one thing that always disturbed me and really made me question whether Emilie was truly dead. When people die, the body turns VERY rigid. So rigid that if someone dies in their sleep, they are forced to be buried (or cremated or whatever) in the position they slept in as fixing their posture is likely to break bones. So in the episode where Felix and Amelie are introduced and Gabriel takes the ring off Emilie's hand, the way her hand was lifted very gently and elegantly doesn't sit right with me. Unless this is just MLB universe biology and I'm just reading way too much into it...
"Gabe has improved his parenting since his wife was put in the fridge"

Most people seem to forget that Adrien was only allowed to go to school AFTER his mother disappeared. Gabriel maybe extremely controlling and neglectful but we know with a little coaxing from Nathalie, he’s probably way more lenient than Emilie who never permitted her son outside.
According to Miraculous Secrets, Gabriel didn't let him go out AFTER his mother "died". Before that he could go to Chloe's place on his own without a bodygaurd following him everywhere. Then we get the origins episode and Gabriel finally managed to let him go to school.

Thoughts?
Knowing writers and ESPECIALLY Thomas Astruc:
1. It is gonna be more focused on Marinette
2. Adrien is gonna forgive his father like the little saint they portray him to be, after some time of course
I agree with all this and now I'm depressed because its a 50 - 50 chance it might happen
knowing thomas he would either do exactly this or somehow make it all about marinette, he hates the fact that adrien is a fan favourite
I think it would be cool if:
a) Adrian's mom turns out to be the actual main bad guy.
This is why there HAS to be an episode on the agreste's family back story.

I have always felt like Emilie isn't the angel adrien deems her to be. In the episode Simon says gabriel says acat noir's temper reminded him of Emilie......So it would be interesting to know who has been the real villain all along
Mmmmm I forgot about that :o
Earlier in the show (when I saw the Simon says episode for the first time/ when it aired for the first time ), I thought that Gabriel was speaking about Adrien´s temper before Emilie "disappeared" and left them both broken inside that made Gabriel become Hawk Moth at some point (a year or so after Emilie "disappeared" as we know now) and Adrien to be less rebellious, thinking that his mom left them because of him, how he was not good enough and wasn´t as obedient as he is now...
But this is a whole other level of realization @GAMERBOY YT
It goes way deeper if you think about Emilie when Gabriel says that Chat Noir´s temper reminds him of someone and when you add to that the face Chat is making after that statement...it just hits on a different tune and it is worse than my first impression when S1 was the only season that we had to go on about so far.
Like mother like son:"))
@@Roi4Nekoshi I also wanted to think Emilie wasn't as bad as Gabriel but after Wishmaker I can't.
Yes I want nathalie to be gaberials true love and soulmate they have so much chemistry and nathaloe is the butty to gaberials beast
I agree that both the Agreste parents can be bad parents, and I also agree that Emilie might be worse than Gabriel. Gabriel have allow Adrien to go to school and have friends, even if he is still making his life busy. All after Emilie have ‘disappear.’
I think the type of person Emilie might be is that she is a manipulator on emotional and mental skills.
So that would mean Emilie was involve with the Miraculous business for a long time, and not in a positive light considering the word ‘searching.’
I really hope we get a flashback or at least more informations about Emilie in the Gabriel Agreste episode, and I also hope she turns out to be the new villain because if it were true, she probably be a better villain than Gabriel whose slow in his goal, in which Emilie is faster and more ruthless.

You have to wonder why Emile used the peacock miraculous to the extent of putting herself in a coma when her and Gabe are living large in the lap of luxury. Like... what more could they possibly want by using miraculous?
Yeah, I think they both wanted world domination and neglected their son.
@@everythinggirly916 That was my initial assumption but it seems so cartoonish even for this show lol... but given the writers' track record, I wouldn't be that shocked if that turns out to be the case. Poor Adrien though, having both his parents be evil villains rip
Nathalie used the peacock miraculous loads, one more use and she will be joining emilly
@@s-ss51 But the peacock miraculous is fixed and no longer harms the user. Though I guess she's too sick in general from all that use while it was corrupted to use it now.

Little note on the pen gifts. Pretty sure those were always Natalie. Gabriel forgets to get Adrien a gift every year so he asks Natalie to sort it last minute and she literally just takes a pen from her desk. She got lucky with Marinettes gift.
"SINCE HIS WIFE WAS PUT IN THE FRIDGE" PLEASE I CANT 😭✋🏽-
I think people seem to forget that Adrien's childhood dream has more layers than just him being what his parents want him to be, but also what he craves more is his parents love because if it means that his childhood dream is to be what his parents want him to be it means that to get their love and affection he has to be what they want him to be, it's pretty much saying that either be like we want you to be or you will not be love what so ever.
"Or they'll ruh away to China so that's why Adrien has to learn Mandarin"😀✋🏻😭😭😭
Lol
Rural China you mean
Hmmm what if Gorilla is Emelie's sentimonster to protect Adrien? I feel like she might be corrupt and a controlling parent, but she could be less willing to put other people in risks compared to Gabriel (who went insane because she went into a comma, she has no reason to be THAT evil). Plus I feel like her powers can be more dangerous as sentimonsters can blend in easily unlike akumas, so there might be lots of sentimonsters out there that she made for whatever mission she wanted to pursue before she went into a comma. Tho honestly I feel like i'm reading too much into it and giving the writers too much credit 😂
i like that theory
To me Émilie IS THE REAL VILLAIN OF THE SHOW. Maybe she wanted to take the whole Miraculous Box like Master Fu, but she got sick and can't go after the Box (maybe she is DESCENDANT of the Mage), so; she induced Gabriel who was a great father to look for the box in her place, but she died because of the jewelry damage) and he found that the Miraculous (principally 🐞&🐈⬛) could also resurrect people, but he just needed to find them first than some monk or Guardian.
@@Starpinklittle WOAH- i like that theory-
I've seen a few theories on that, and I admit that I like that idea
She went into a comma... how does one fit into a punctuation symbol?
Theory:
When I had seen it, it was so strange because of Gabriel's look and the switched eye colour.
I mean okay dark greyish-blue eyes, but he also has that darker shadow part on the top, making it look like he had lost a part of his soul. . .
And as for baby Adrien. . . his baby hands reaching for the stars which would indicate to this quote that says "Reach for the moon, even if you fall short, you'll land among the stars. . ." or this "I have to dream and reach for the stars, and if I miss a star then I grab a handful of clouds." or "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for stars." There are many quotes that I had found and most of them has either the cloud or the moon in it. . .
So Emily is the Moon that is far out of his reach, Gabriel is the cloud that he can still able to touch but Baby Adrien does not reach for him nor the moon, He is reaching for the star above him. . .
I don't believe Thomas would blurt it out saying THIS IS A BIG POINT haha
and I wonder is that really Gabriel?

And with his reputation that would be taken as a major no-no.
probably NOBODY cares and needs to know this but i relate to adrien so much-

- controlling parents
- no childhood dreams
- private school all my life (yes even now)
- only 1 bestie that i've known since 3 (dont get me wrong i love her)
- a dad that's literally an asian gabriel agreste and an aunt that would be nathalie
- a pretty pure/nice person overall

Crazy theory: what if emilie actually wanted adrien to have a normal childhood, but gabriel was kind of an abusive husband and didn’t let her have a say, so what if emilie was using the miraculous to get away from gabriel and ended up fall sick and going into a coma…
I can't say I'm convinced but it's a cool theory
Noice theory
I had a theory that Emilie was going to die even BEFORE she used the broken miraculous. But she used it BECAUSE she was going to die anyway and wanted to leave a sentimonster behind to take her place...
Specifically.... Natalie. A sentimonster SO strong she is more human than sentimonster.
Which if his wish gets granted without a loss, we get that whole revelation... Imagine hawkmoth finding this out and realizing he WASTED his time, that he should have spent that time WITH his son instead.
Cool theory, it would be interesting to explore if Thomas Astruc wasnt so focus on convincing people that toxic relationships are quirky
I think Adrien’s childhood dream would be his parents being proud of him. He has a terrible childhood and so much discipline.
XD
I'm sure his parents did say something... and this has a mirrored Peter Pan vibes. In HOOK (1991 flim), the setting was Peter didn't want to be his mother's expectations. In this case, Adrien turns out to be the OPPOSITE of Peter Pan. He wants to become what they said.
@@edogawaconan4869 I wouldn't say it was that far, as wish makers power spends more time affecting the immediate moment and what its targets wanted to be when they were children there and than
There are many layers as to what Adrien's dream could be, if it is to be what his parents want him to be, and if Gabriels specific vision was modeling and as Emilie is in a coma right now, we don't know what her side of the vision for his future is which could be addressed in one of the two films, or seasons 5-7
Wishmaker's ability can only work on single facets where it is a straight path, as Adrien's is a more multifaceted path where it is as it is stated, Wishmaker has a harder time using his powers as if you're living for others how would a person live his own life path?
Since the ability does as it does by force even if the target doesn't remember what the dream is, Wishmaker has no control over his own stars regardless of whether or not it is actually being enjoyed or not
the major weakness being he has no offensive capabilities like with his creator Shadow Moth (previously Hawk Moth as that suit has already been established as unable to attack or go on offense and was intended for defense) and as shadow moth can be on offense and actually fight with duusuu's help where with nooroo alone he is unable to engage in open combat for a very long time, and Wishmaker can not undo his own ability when the dreams are reality, his abilities don't work once they attain realization where he's useless on offense where this champion has to know when to defend
So going back to Adrien being multifaceted where he hasn't really mapped out his own life path, wish makers abilities stop because he's useless on offense, dream realization which is his power is only able to work when a dream is specifically known and can attain reality, as Adrien didn't have anything to attain reality with a dream to call his, Wishmaker's powers stop at that moment
"Or are they going to run away to rural China and that's why Adrien has to learn Mandarin" omg best theory love it XD
I will list a points, easier that way for me:
I don't think Adrien was isolated or that Emilie is evil, but I agree with the rest.

Hoping we get some clarification this season!
he was really chill when Natalie just asked him to let Adrien go to school
I'm kinda rambling anyway-
All of this- my thoughts exactly! Seriously, there’s just nothing right about this situation, I can’t even fathom how awful it is for Adrien.
That was so comforting as lots of facts has been mentioned which less channels had talk about
With how Amilie acts around Gabriel and the fact Adrien was only allowed to visit public school after his mom disappeared, I sure liked to think Emilie was basically about as controlled by her husband as Adrien is by his dad.

If Gabriel were to combine the ladybug and the cat miraculous to make a wish, the entire history would be re-written, so Emelie "dying" would've never had happened.
But this was probably posted before the episode Ephemeral, where they explained this buy I just wanted to say that.
Also I was just watching Simon says and when Cat Nior talks back and snaps at Gabriel he says he has “quite a temper” and “reminds him of someone” and then looks at the portrait of Emilie
I definitely don’t think Emilie is some perfect angel
I do like the sentimonster theory that a lot of people have been having, but before you make a video on it, Thomas Astruc confirmed that Adrien is not a sentimonster
He never actually confirmed it was false (I keep up with all his tweets and all the sentimonster rules he mentioned still keep that theory alive), he did laugh at it though. But remember this is Thomas and we know sometimes he likes to joke and deny some things for the good of the show….
I mean there isn't THAT much of a difference if a person is a sentimonster right? So we really shouldn't worry about that?
Adrian goes through all of this psychological and emotional abuse and he's still kind. And then you have people being dramatic over Chloe because her mum can't get her name right
fr he is the NICEST person in the ENTIRE show even tho he's been emotionally abused and his mother just died, but people (especially in the gacha community) like to villainize him. Like he's the biggest cinnamon roll ever like wth?
People cope with trauma in different ways
Gabriel is the distant, strict parent, but I feel Emily would've been the helicopter parent. So even if Adrien wanted to go out into the world, she may have went all Mother Gothel on him.
Actually now that I've said that, I really do think it. Since Rapunzel was a doormat until she met Flynn and experienced the world.
So Gabriel who's just blunt and wants to protect his son (in some cases, not many though) and Emily could've been secretly a very manipulative person.
“Plans to rule China and that’s why Adrien has to learn Mandarin” had me on the floor 🤣
Great video
I knew that Gabriel was a terrible father from the start, but I honestly hoped that his wife was at least better than him and more loving. But, after watching a lot of videos about Emily Agreste I was SO WRONG
I seriously want Gabriel to be arrested for all the terrorizing to the parisian and lose custody of everything he owns even Adrien. (I'm sure Nino would have him stay at his place or his bodyguard could take him in)
Also do you think you can do a video about how shady the rich parents are or rank which parents in Miraculous are the worst?
Yes that would be interesting 👀😊😏

How he will lose Aiden?
I'm ALMOST CERTAIN the no childhood dreams thing is a result of him being a sentimonster.
Its true
The 3 theory of Adrian being a senty monster might be possible because in the episode which the villain used his own power (catechism) an Adrian he didn't become dust or died, just like I senty monster, they don't die or become dust they just become corrupted and week... .

@@aggeloskarlis5788 it's mostly a possibility , and possiblity's never die if not in the show maybe in a fan comic.

Yeah, I agree. People just love to overexaggerate.
Actually in the French dub, Adrien says that his father forgets his birthday EVERY YEAR. So yeah it's bad no matter how you put it.

Also the original script is written in French so if there's anything wrong or mistranslated, it's the English dub.
My theory is:
Luka found out cat noirs and ladybugs identity in “wishmaker” so I think if Luka gets akumatized, he would go straight to adrien’s and marinette’s house to get them.
I hope Gabriel doesn't get forgiven like Akito in Fruits Basket (that was too quick) but I hope Adrien isn't scarred by all this
I hate akito
if he isnt that’d just be bad writing. He has to be scarred. Years of abuse and no scars? Thats stupid
Crazy theory: what if emilie actually wanted adrien to have a normal childhood, but gabriel was kind of an abusive husband and didn’t let her have a say, so what if emilie was using the miraculous to get away from gabriel and ended up fall sick and going into a coma…
I mean think about it, adrien remembers his mother so fondly, but his father he kind of dislikes for lack of a better word. So maybe gabe was a tyrant who was overly controling of his family and emilie wasn’t having it but didn’t want to leave because she wanted to be there for adrien. She maybe started using the miraculous and didn’t know the effects till it was too late.
Or maybe it was the other way around..and emilie was the controlling tyrant
@@timakasa8804 It could be i mean his father let him go to school and make friends there which he never did with her around.
i love seeing these theories because it makes me more invested in the story please keep it up :DD
It would be interesting to see if all along Emilie was just a very naive woman who only saw the good in others, which would explain the manipulative people she's associated with, as well as dealing with Gabriel's crap. Adrien is in a way made out to be similar to his mom, and we all know how forgiving he can be
I like this theory
@@Allthingsasian I really don't want to believe this But you could be right too
@@Allthingsasian it's hard to say at this point. I just want Adrien to be happy because he's gone through too much
Gabe has only gotten worse since his wife got fridged, he was straight up mentally torturing him in conformatory in the last episode.
I just realized the funniest part of Adrian being an amuck is that he is allergic to feathers and he's made from the peacock miraculous
Yeah, we had a bit of info abt her but bo where near enough.
The conversation at 8:40, I'm betting Gabriel's wish isn't just to bring his wife back. I'm betting that Gabriel wants to turn back time and prevent his wife from even going after the miraculous anyway. Because he knows if he wins it'll all just be erased anyway.
Yeah but he knows everything has consequences. So something might happen there.
adrien’s defense of his mother reminds me of kousei from your lie in april, even though she was hurting him, he still wanted to believe it was them vs the world and she was doing what was right
so true. i never really thought about it but when you just say that out, it's awful😢
Hey... Did anyone else notice that in the flashback when Adrien was in the cot Emilie's eyes are BLUE?!?!
Not green. Blue.
Theorists, have at it.
I've heard some people say that Adrien remembers his mom's eyes as blue because Nathalie has blue eyes and he thinks of Nathalie as a mother (supported by the fact that he got super excited when he thought his dad was going to confess he and nathalie were in love and says that Nathalie is already family)
@@bitebackbunny I think it was just an error, but that's actually a really sweet way to explain it.
Plot twist Emelie is gonna become the new main villain after Hawkmoth has been defeated
Hard agree, my guy. Completely agree. I just want a backstory episode. Them choosing to homeschool their son is really just overprotectiveness.
I have a feeling that the episode’s gonna play out like Gravity Falls: Not What He Seems, where cops are invading Adrien’s house, and the cops are finding out his identity, sending him to live with someone else, and then Adrien knows his identity.
4:40 as a homeschooler the is true I have friends that are not homeschooled
There's one thing that always disturbed me and really made me question whether Emilie was truly dead.
When people die, the body turns VERY rigid. So rigid that if someone dies in their sleep, they are forced to be buried (or cremated or whatever) in the position they slept in as fixing their posture is likely to break bones. So in the episode where Felix and Amelie are introduced and Gabriel takes the ring off Emilie's hand, the way her hand was lifted very gently and elegantly doesn't sit right with me. Unless this is just MLB universe biology and I'm just reading way too much into it...
