Watch it high
I think you misspelled irritating
best teacher ever
You miss the carbon fiber wheels guys :v
Bintang Nugraha but wasn’t carbon fibre are only used on koenigsegg?
I thought the same thing but I'm not mad, wish Bart was my science teacher. lol
adam habri. No, carbon fibre wheels also use in another race car, like in bishimoto porsche. You can buy one if you have really deep pocket 😂😂
Yes they did Bintang, yes they did...
Not at all!
i love this series man i mean learning new things or learning the right things about cars are already fun these guys make it even more fun and easier to understand.BIG LOVE TO THE DONUT MEDIA
Next week, spoons and how they work.

This channel makes really good quality content. I just love it..i learn more on this channel than my college 😂 hope you guys get million subscribers real soon.. wishing you guys luck..love all your efforts thanks. Love from India 💕
asif shaikh Bob and vageneies?
ThisCreatedAccount I agree I mean that shit on streets and eat their babies
Happy to see this many educated people trying to get some extra knowledge from this channel.
ThisCreatedAccount ThisCreatedAccount sometimes RUclipsrs and content creators (which u are not so u won't understand) want to know and are curious about from where their audience is watching.
Then you're going to a pretty shitty college.
A dude who makes (comedic) explanational videos about cars explained inertia better than any physics professor or textbook I've had ever has.
Hey James and Bart I got those new set of nipple clamps, I mean jumper cables today.
😳🤣
I never thought about how important rotational inertia is but it makes sense.
Also I love this series, can you do an episode on Overhead Cam vs Pushrod?
Come on you gunners ❤🤍❤🤍❤🤍
This series and "everything you need to know" won my subscription, great channel, great content!
Hey James - is there a way to bring him and this segment back? My fav part of the channel along with “Up to Speed”.

EvilBox that's the question that no man knows
EvilBox 😂😂
Better get Sir Attenborough for a documentary like that.
Easy. They want stuff. It's not the same stuff you want. Done.
They don't 😂😂
This channel taught me more than automechanich school keep it up the great work
In the case of the 18 inch vs the 20 inch wheel, i wish you had added the impact of the increase in circumference. I think the 20 inch would cover an extra foot per rotation but not sure to what extent that offsets the inertia
that's an interesting topic to discuss.
Wow Thanks i had no idea wheels could rotate! I never knew for what those four round things on an car were for...
Notice the animations are getting way better in these videos. Keep it going!
You guys surprised me once again with another creative, cool, and original content. Love you Bart and all the folks behind the scene.
No carbon fibre wheels? Koenigsegg is disappointed. 😔
Ali Mahfooz Same with Ford
We're planning a future episode entirely on carbon fiber, and wheels will be in there!
fibre
I wish this guy would come back. He was awesome
I love to see donut media. Every video is interesting. 😀
This guy is always happy every time I watch his videos no matter what the subject is
Wheels are donuts!
Low Drop Or are donuts wheels?
🤔 *Hmmmmm*
You know what’s great about this channel? It seems no matter how basic the car part is and how much you think you know about it, you’ll always end up learning something.
Jeez i literslly took my headphones off ‘cause he always screaming lol
Always wanted to know what mag-wheels were all about thanks donut!
0:04 oh i thought you should call them "alloys" 😂
Nothing demonstrated this for me like switching from my overall smaller winter setup back onto the "all-season" setup. Winters were same wheel diameter but narrower with smaller section than the all-seasons. I really notice it when turning where the all-seasons take more effort.
One way to boost your Cool-meter 😎
Can you do a vid on how fuel-injection is superior to injection from a carburetor DOWN TO THE ATOM?
Carlos Barberena carburetor for life!!!
Aluminum is 1/3 the mass of steel per volume, but it is also 1/3 the strength. So to make 2 wheels of the same design and of equal strength the aluminum rim would have to be 3 times as thick. That means they would essentially weigh the same.
Steel wheels are also excellent on your off roading monster. More weight and wider tyres = better traction AND less ground pressure. Hell it even applies to tracks. That's why the German heavies like the the Tiger H1 were almost as fast as the American Sherman medium!
I’ve been thinking about rims for so long and man I think you just talked me out of it
Koenigseggs carbon fiber rims though!🔥
yea they are really strong and easy to lift even with just your pinky
I love you guys at Donut Media, I've learned so much from all of you guys.

Yo your energy is off the chart I love it keep it up
hi guys! in one of your videos about wheels, you talked about the advantages of small-diameter wheels, and that the engine needs more force to spin large wheels. BUT doesn't a large diameter increase the speed? After all, in order to overcome the same distance on large wheels, you need less engine spin, isn't it.
Love the energy. I was completely engaged. It's like Bill nye but with cars!
Isn't wheel tyre + rim ?
Guten Tschüss depends on whom you are asking. In Japan, the wheel is just the physical part attached to the hub, while tires are separate. In the USA, they typically refer to wheels as rims, and tires separate, or sometimes both together like you mentioned.
God help us
The rim is the... rim. The part on the outside of a multi piece wheel. A wheel is a wheel. A tyre is a tyre. A rim is a rim.
*D o n t c a l l t h e m r i m s*
no
Can you do a video on how turbos and fuel efficiency works? (Like how your engine cuts out while idling more specifically)
*RAMCHARGERS!* 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Man I love your videos 😂, this is the best way to learn more about cars. Thanks bro 👊
Transmission | How They Work
It's coming!
This is good stuff. You should do an episode on tires and rubber.
They just go round and round 🤷🏻♂️
HARDBASS RUSKI KVASS VODKA shit chill out dude...
and round and round and round over and over and over again... ... lol 😂
Armour Shooter
Now this guy has a brain, unlike the rest of ppl who replied
yes man they rotate
MLNDR
Amazing, isn’t it?
I love the way he explain things!!!
they spins
(wait Ive never been this early)
man, i wish you'd use wheel, rim, and tire like this:
wheel, a combination of tire of rim
rim, metal disc with spokes that supports weight
tire, rubber donut that supports friction and weight
*Please don't call them rims...*
SDSBBQ why
coleman because your an adult.
AngryBooth
How does that make sense
Angel G.S agreed
AngryBooth you're*
You guys deserve everything!! Great work!!
Straight cut gears | how they work
I don't care what anyone says, that ice skater example put rotational inertia into PERFECT perspective lmao. It all makes sense now, also the audio clip of that guy saying "boo you suck!" never ever gets old lmao.
*spinny boi*
Can you make a video on why we up shift/ down shift please, I've been wanting to know and only have a general idea of why?
I like "THICC" WHEELS
Hey can u talk about offset and how the shape of a wheel affects performance?
You'll get a heart attack from your voice. Lol!
You're getting closer and closer to becoming my favorite car guy
Do a colab with engineering explained
could you make a video explaining wheel sizes, offsets etc?
Do a suspension video
They did.
Can we get a How Transmissions Work? Donut is always worth watching fun and educational 😃
UP TO SPEED ON THE TOYOTA HILUX!
Jason Voorhees wasn’t that done already
The Coronet Shop nope, it was mentioned in the 4Runner video once, but they didn’t touch on it much
isis would flood the comments
Zemzem Dağdelen most definitely 😂
Barto, I hope you know you're the Bill Nye of car enthusiasts. Cool vids man!

Rimming
Forever in my Favorites Playlist. Y'all a buncha good mans's over there at Donut.
So what your saying is that a 5 inch aluminum wheels is better than 18 inch wheels on a sports car?
No small wheels have pros and cons just like large wheels
Yeah, this was my complaint with the video as well. By their logic, old 13 inch wheels are pretty spiffy performance pieces. :p
For acceleration and deceleration, yes.
Tirerack did a test with a Golf GTi. 20" vs 17". The 17" took a .5 second off 0-60 because of the weight savings. They also reported that it was noticeable more comfortable on broken pavement. Look at indy cars or nascar. small wheels / large tires.
You need a bigger wheel to accommodate better performing brakes though. So it is a balancing act.
you need room for brakes
Can you tell us how a sequential shifter works and why they're louder than the conventional transmission?
Why you gotta shout everything ?
Its the reason i follow donut media tho
This channel has taught me more that my high school automotive teachers have taught me
You guys need to do an episode on engine oil weights. 👍
I like big reems
That break in character at 3:50 saved my soul.
I'm early wtf do I do?!!!!
Hi1773 Plays run with your sky master?
Got a great recommendation for you guys. Shorty headers, mid- legth header, long tubes , and exhaust manifolds.
Wheel = tyre + rim
ALostHappyPanda the rim is the outter part of the wheel... imagine the first wheel the caveman made for fucks sake did it have a tire
What would you call the tire and wheel together?
Because in Sweden we refer to the rim as the "wheel" (Fälgar) while "wheel" (Hjul) here is tire + "wheel"
ALostHappyPanda English has a way to say damn near everything , I know some Spanish buddies who I ask how to say something for instance the rainguards on the window and the way they tell me how to say it translates to the black thing in the window lol , just how it is bud
The definition of a wheel is a circular object that rotates on an axle. A rim can't rotate on an axle (Because a rim has no center to be fixed to an axle). It has to be part of something that can (The wheel). Also, think of it this way. Would you think it's stupid to call the rim a barrel? "I really like those barrels you got there". Why not? By your logic, any part of the wheel can be the name of the entire thing.
The tire and wheel together are just called the wheel. When you mount the tire, it becomes part of the wheel. It's like when you have three piece wheels. You have the wheel center, and the outer and inner rims (which includes the barrel of the wheel as well). Collectively, they're just referred to as a wheel.
I think my favorite car I've owned was a FB Rx7 rocking 13" steelies.
Ok, but tone down the silliness.
WHAT? I COULDNT HEAR YOU OVER ALL THE EXCESSIVE LOUDNESS AND YELLING! lol
You must be new here...have a seat 🛋
nope
I’m glad you’re educating car people properly.
I learned a lot from this video, I can't wait to get my car idk when but in due time
Hands down best show on youtube
nice collection Guys , Simple and complete...
could you make a video about cars electrical parts? ECU, BSI, and so on.....
make a part 2 with figuring out wheel specs!
Best channel on RUclips hands down
Lol great video. Do one about tires and tips on performance!
GOTTA LOVE SCIENCE GARAGE
I wanted to know how the number of spokes affect the weight and strength combination as well as rotational inertia. What is more advantageous a thicker 5 or a thinner 6?
you guys are gonna hit 1M subs pretty quick
This was wheelie educational Bart!
