      His English was better here and in Hello than it was in 2017 , also it was better in Adagio from Sochi & Vitebsk 2018 than it was from Adagio 2017 . His English in Across endless dimensions was pretty good . He's getting better and I love when he can actually sing the words correctly because I can connect more with the storytelling aspect of the song . The only recent performance with " Dinglish " is Your Love , but it wasn't a problem with his pronouciation , he chose to skip over some words for the sake of the melody .

      @@kolgerrard1964 why must the whole world singing in english? It's not the most beautiful language. French, spain or italien is more beautiful. And by the way, I prefer to hear him singing in kasakh, because there are more emotion. You don't must understand the words, but you can feel what he sings, samaltau, qairan elim, daididau and more others. It's my opinion....best regards from berlin, have a nice day:-)

    Important context for this performance: It occurred at the inaugural Hainan Film Festival (China's version of the Academy Awards). As part of the event, the film festival did a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the film "Titanic". In attendance were the songwriter and the producer for the film's iconic title song "My Heart Will Go On" (Jack Horner and Walter Afansieff). It was they who chose Dimash to be the one to sing their song on this important occasion. It's not my favorite song and it's not among my favorite performances from Dimash. But I honor that it was a solemn tribute to the song's place in cinematic history, and very little artistic freedom could be allowed. Within the constraints of the context, Dimash knocked it out of the park. Incidentally, Walter Afansieff is currently working with Dimash on a new song with instrumentals by the Paris National Opera orchestra. Some of us are pretty excited.

    • @ijl6921

      Oh, I didn't know about his meeting with one of the leaders of the Paris orchestra. Interesting!

    • @edukid1984
      @edukid1984 4 года назад

      Where did you get your "important context" from? The songwriter is JAMES Horner and he tragically passed away in 2015; I hardly think he rose from the dead and attended this event! People need to check their sources before spreading misinformation. It's not that hard with Google and Wikipedia!

    • @Snarky_Tart
      @Snarky_Tart 4 года назад +2

      @@edukid1984 Afansieff and Franglen (soundtrack producer for Avatar with James Horner) produced "My Heart Will Go On" for Celine Dion. Dimash did some preliminary recording with Afansieff in Los Angeles in 2017. Afansieff invited Dimash to sing "My Heart Will Go On" at the Hainan Film Festival tribute to "Titanic". You're correct that James Horner composed the music. Will Jennings (American songwriter) wrote the lyrics. Afansieff is currently producing a new track for Dimash, "Love Is Not Over Yet".

I know you are not so much interested in music videos but please please react to his new song Quairan Elim. It’s something completely different than we are used to from Dimash and he shows us another side of his artistry. He doesn’t „only“ sing, he also directed the music video together with a well known Kazakh movie director. It’s his directing debut. I‘m really interested in how you think about it.

If you haven’t watched already, I’m sure you’ll love Dimash’s cover of Hello (Lionel Richie) on Singer 2018, where he was a guest. Awesome arrengement with middle eastern vibe, simplistic but beautifully dramatic staging based on lighting and a heartfelt, multicolored, powerful performance by Dimash. He transformed the song!

    I had the same concerns before watching Dimash sing this song... it has been sung to death... but I really liked how he made it less monotonous and boring by using different tones and textures. And of course... the ending is super awsome.

      Finally someone feels the same as I do , some people were criticizing him for not singing the song as " it should be sung " espicially in the compariso made between his version and Marcelito version . I prefer this one because he made it his own and still delivered an emotional and engaging performance with vocal agility & gorgeous low and high notes & a story told through his movements , expressions and vocals . While the other guy was a human parrot , imitating Celine to the point of irritating me .

    • @evawettergren7492
      @evawettergren7492 4 года назад +1

      @@kolgerrard1964 I just find it meaningless to imitate someone. If I wanted to listen to Celine Dion I would listen to Celine Dion. I hope Marcelito uses his talent and develope his own style for his future career because he is really talented.

    Surely the glittering heart represents the Heart of the Ocean from the movie? And am I the only one who notices that every time Dimash sings the refrain “my heart will go on and on” as “my heart will go OND and on”? Which is actually the way Celine sang it originally, so I’m blaming her, lol. Am I also the only one who couldn’t refrain from singing along? ☺️ Loved your reaction/review! Greetings from Florida.

With your knowledge of what is going on inside, does his hand movements match his vocal movements? This performance, especially at the end, seems to be a good example. Or is he just being naturally expressive? Your thoughts? Thank you for your excellent analysis of Dimash! I really appreciate listening to you. :)

    Listening to Dimash live, and listening to this again, the first 2/3 does not sound like how he sings live.

    It still feels weird they wheeled him there behind them lol. They didn't plug him in yet he might crash the entire electrical grid. 1:23

    I was wondering if he was sick too because he looks very pale and his eyes aren't as lit up as they usually are.

    I find this Dimash-thing irritating after a few songs. Every song he needs to show how high he can get. Sometimes it belongs to the song, like with SOS, but there are times when it gets tiring to listen to. Just sing the song.

    Dimash is a brilliant technician with super duper range. But no meaning, no emotion, no storytelling, no soul. I can't relate. (Also the range he sings in is not one beyond normal human conversion, and so not suited to storytelling or moving emotions; it's the range for some classical or chant but not story telling.) He's cutting edge moving us towards genderless transhumanism. So, opposite on the scale to Angelina Jordan. I'm pretty stunned at how popular Dimash is. I see his talent, but I have not seen a single performance of his that moves me an inch or gets one synapsis in my brain to fire
