    To everyone who dislikes these individuals based upon the fact that they are emulating a foreign culture.....really? At least they have the heart to do something with themselves and not be a sad little internet troll. This is coming from a guy who forges both Norse and Japanese styled blades. I suppose that makes me "not add up".

      +Josh McNeal Well said, Josh! At least two of these guys have trained extensively in Japan so it's not as if they are 'wannabees". Is every non-American who plays Jazz, every non-American rapper or every person who studies a foreign martial art also worthy of scorn?

    Was taught Taiko by Mugenkyo many years ago and have seen them perform numerous times. The physical stamina required for this art form is beyond belief! Love Mugenkyo!

    I saw these guys perform several years ago in Solihull. It was an amazing experience. There's a certain emotion that's brought to the surface when you don't just hear, but physically feel this sound and it's near impossible to describe. Wonderfully performance.

    Very good video but only gives you a flavour of how awesome this group really is! Every time we see then (19 times so far), they just get better and better. Can't wait for the Autumn tour to begin!

    Saw them performing at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil yesterday evening. Absolutely incredible and not to be missed. A standing ovation at the end, an enthusiastic and quite long encore, then another well deserved standing ovation. The theatre was almost full. Better than first class.

    I saw them perform live in Lancaster and all the performers were great. You can close your eyes whilst listening to the drumming and think you are Samurai Jack!

    They're showing in Weston tonight and I really should go. I didn't even know it was on until a couple hours ago. Thankfully there's still some tickets left!
    If no one has heard of Wagakki Band, check them out, they use Taiko drums in all of their songs. :)

    They're good. if you can't get to the Matsumoto Taiko festival (it was last week - and I was there) then this is the next best thing and the best you'll see in Europe.

    One thing I hate about this video is the screaming completely ruins the moment

    • @TheVioletangel1
      @TheVioletangel1 5 лет назад

      The ' screams' are sort of a part of the piece being played, like a kind of communication between the drummers.
      I've been lucky enough to see Mugenkyo Taiko perform 4 times now, and one of the founders, Neil, explained why there are little noises & gestures throughout the shows...👍

    • @FeatherzMcG
      @FeatherzMcG 5 лет назад

      They call the shouting Kakegoe. It's used similar to how Kiai is used in martial arts. In a performance, it's often like egging each other on, as some pieces can be quite physically demanding. From personal experience, it's quite powerful to have your fellow performers behind you like that. It's also just a manifestation of the raw energy these guys are putting into it.

    IS THIS A JOKE!!!!! REALY.... IS THIS SOPOSE TO BE KODO????????????

  • @Fleischmann773
    @Fleischmann773 10 лет назад +2

    Far from the "real" thing.
    Just a bunch of gaijins trying to copy some Asian culture.
    It would be like watching Swedes dance a national dance from some tribe in Africa, it just does´nt add up.
    Looks pretty stupid.
    Disclaimer: I know im a Gaijin myself, and yes im also a Swede.

    • @moominpic
      @moominpic 9 лет назад +9

      +twovikings abroad Considering a number of them trained extensively in Japan before founding the group suggests they are not just trying to "copy" Asian culture. What's the difference between them and a Swede like Dolph Lundgren fighting in a Japanese style of martial art? Wouldn't say Dolph was just a gaijin trying to copy Asian culture.

    • @Fleischmann773
      @Fleischmann773 8 лет назад

      Dolph is a 80´s something joke.
      He does that for money. Thats not for "the art" like i think these guys do it for.
      It just looks so wrong seeing them take on something like this. A bit awkward acctually.
      Just as awkward a Dolphs acting.
      Just my thoughts

    • @Fleischmann773
      @Fleischmann773 8 лет назад

      Watched it again, and they just seem to lack the intensity and power i seek in this kind of performances

      twovikings abroad *Yeah! Let's judge them because of stupid reasons!!*

    • @Fleischmann773
      @Fleischmann773 7 лет назад

      So what reasons do you accept when judging art?
      Lack of intensity aint good enough?
      Its just stupid you say.
