Taiko performances are not only exquisite audio experiences but also an exceptional visual treat. For me it encompasses all values of Japan. Dedication, precision, discipline and respect. A must see live experience!
I don't think they're fully improvising tho. There may be a few improvised solos but if it were a full jam session they would have to improvise the whole thing. There are clear signs of there being some kind of form and stuff.
Japan's cultural heritage is very beautifully powerful and mesmerizing. So much so, that many years ago, it has come to be one of my most favorite nations and cultures on Earth. My love for Japan has grown stronger to this day. One day, I shall travel to this amazing country and experience the beautiful culture with my own eyes. Love from the United States. 🇯🇵🇺🇸
@@shiningarmor2838 Taiko, Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare and Toms are great for use together in cinematic arrangements. The one thing that eludes me is how do people beat those huge taikos crazily fast and not have to muffle or dampen them in anyway? When you play Bass Drum it rings out if you play fast and you have to muffle it to get more attack. Doesn't seem to be a problem for taiko players.
Their co-ordination is beyond any belief ... and unlike an orchestra they don't have a conductor and a script, everything is in their mind, just incomprehensible ...
I. Love. This. First of all, the instruments are works of art and then the performances of each drummer is wonderful to watch. My favorite is the woman because she looked like she was having fun, her style (way of drumming ) is beautiful to watch and she made it look effortless.

Ruiya Xiao guy above is right. The drumming originates from China and basicly japan took it and made their own version. still though the chinese variants are really amazing
China in general has influenced Japanese culture a lot. Things like Sensei, Koi Fish, Bonsai and other things you’d think originated in Japan wouldn’t be if not for China.
Remind me of the Summer festivals in Japan. I miss that Taiko vibration, the lights, the noise, we kids following the Mikoshi. Thank you for posting this.
Amazing to watch from the drums sound, their body movements so synchronized I can see how much times they have been practiced and their dedication it just amazes me ❤️❤️🥰🥰😘😘💕💕😍😍

This would literally be my all time dreams of playing taiko drums on a level of spirituality and love for drumming. I would say this has to be an awesome drum session lol. :D
I just have to make a comment on this: I have a whole collection of songs that supposedly represent different eras or ages as portrayed in fiction, with this collection being one of them. I would have fit this in the Medieval Age, tying that with songs concerning the Crusades or Warhammer Fantasy, but I decided that it sounds ancient enough to mix with the Classical Period. Well done!

I have seen a live group; I agree, it's a must-see experience. They are amazing!
I think taiko is first timing fitness musicality precision correct right behaviour
They are a physical and emotional experience. Whole body, mind and sole. The timing the performers exhibit...words fail. One must expeience.
This music is addicting! I love how it gets your blood pumping yet is tranquil and soothing at the same time.

It is called chapa
Right? Total commitment.

It's so nice to see her play and at 5:25 when she starts smiling and you can tell she's having the time of her life...
Awesome video
Dude at 10:20 beating that drum like it brought home a report card with straight Fs 🤣😂🤣😂
