Thanks for this clear, concise and informative video. My model's release button often gets stuck. I found that simultaneously pulling on the end cap and pushing the release button released the filter.
Thanks, so much. My Coldspot isn't exactly the same model as yours .. . but the filter, filter location and everything about the filter applied for me. Your video is clear, concise and perfect. Wish me luck!
I have a similar fridge at our home we just bought last year when we moved in the red light came on meaning that it’s time to replace the filter but after a while the light turned green with out changing the filter what does this mean is it good or not?
I have an old Kenmore model 106.51569104. Any idea how to remove the filter at the bottom of the fridge? It won't turn, lift or pull out. And would you know where I can order a new filter for such an old model?
Every time I pull out the old filter, water gushed out all over the floor until I get the new one in. I’ve tried turning the ice maker off and locking the water on the door, but nothing affects it - big mess every time. What am I doing wrong??
I have only had a few drips leak out of the old filter but if you are having that problem I would find the shutoff to the water line going to your refrigerator and turn that off and then fill a cup until the water line is empty. That way the only water you should have would be a little remaining in your old water filter. You will have some air in the line to get out after you replace the filter and turn it back on but that is the only way I can think of to avoid that problem.
I can't get the old filter out....the push button seems to be stuck in the already pushed in position - and the filter will not come out. Any ideas how to get it out?
I have had that happen before and sometimes you can try and push in the filter or slightly try and turn it and it will pop that button back out so you can finish changing the filter.
Midwest Dad thank you. I’ve tried those. The only thing that happens is the cap comes off. But maybe if I try turning the filter with a better grip like using pliers it will budge. Thank you for taking the time to answer! Appreciate it!
I think it could be done but may be hard to push it in until it locks you may have to use something to push it in all the way if your hand won’t fit. Also you will have to really use a flash light and make sure the filter ends are lined up correctly when you slide it in. Good luck & thanks for watching and commenting.
Need to get rid of previous ice too. Here at this rental the ice tasted like garlic!
Thank you! Just had to help my parents put a new filter in their fridge. I barely had the strength to push that back in place.
Thank you so much for this video!
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU! Stupid me didn't know to remove the cap on the end so it wouldn't fit. This was a great help!
Thanks! I just moved into a new house and had no idea the filter was hidden at the bottom! Lol

This was definitely the BEST. Explained it so well. THANK YOU!

I replaced the old filter I thought there would be some water in it but there was not, is that normal?
Sorry for the late response - my filter usually is still full of water and will drip a little when I replace it.
Amazing video
