Well its a decent game but rr7 is better in any regard. It is a ps3 exclusive just like rr6 is exclusive to xbox 360. If your son wants to customize cars, that can only be done in rr7. Other than that rr6 is fine if you can live with sub 1080p resolution.
Both games have a bumper cam. In terms of handling, you have to get your hands on them to know the differences. R5 feels weightier and lines in shallow corners mattering a lot. R7 doesn't feel worse but different. Like you're guiding your along a guardrail.
@@goodie2shoes874 Bumper cam is different bonnet cam. Bonnet cam is where the bonnet is seen in front on bumper cam commonly known as chase cam is where its just the road only. Thanks for your comment
There’s no bonnet cam in either, unfortunately. Both games feel very different but both fun. RR5 is heavier and less drift-focused, you can do drifting and sometimes it’s the best choice, but usually a grip turn will be faster and more efficient, and the racing is a bit more realistic with the weight and the way it feels, but it does make the game feel slow and heavy sometimes. RR7 feels *amazing*, it’s like you smoothly slide around but in a way you can perfectly control, and drifting feels amazing to pull off. It’s usually the best way to do a turn unless it’s quite light, and the nitro boost you get helps make up for lost speed. It’s less realistic but it feels really light and fun, it’s hard to describe without playing for yourself.
Of course 7 looks better. But I like the treatment of 5 way more because it feels closer to the vibe of the original arcade game. Ridge Racer 6 and 7 were slowly deviating from the simple arcade roots that made Ridge Racer what it was and it went all wrong with the horror show that's unbounded. Ridge Racer Unbounded may have been technically a good game if taken on its own merit. But a Ridge Racer game it is not. They should have just called it "Racing Unbounded" or something and it might've sold more.
6 and 7 were different but they were still ridge racer games. They just built off of the fundamental set by the previous games. I don't think nitro would mix well with the weighty handling of 4 and 5
Great video and channel! I also got some RR comparison vids on my channel, if you wanna check them out. I particularly liked your GT6 path tracker videos. Great stuff!
I never played either of these games but both seemed to have lost the charm of the original arcade game. The PSP version of this track is a better recreation to my eyes
RRV really holds up still. Crazy how well it looked when it came out.
It's awesome to see how good namco was at catching the speed.
If you play both games in chronological order it feels home.
Throughout the games, ridge city has gradually developed with each entry. Hence why you see more building and routes going from game to game.
Still absolutely love the track playing when you select your car in RRV.
I wish 7 also included Ridge City Highway. Seems hollow to just have one but not the other.
This game just needs it's original desgin and art style in HD like daytona did
Fucking right, man! RRV, right?
My son asked me to get rr7 for Xbox 360 but its not available but rr6 is.
Is rr6 still ok for my 9 year old son to play?

Ok, i didn't knew
Load times for Ridge Racer 7 are much shorter once you install the game to your HDD.
Epic!!!!!

RR V was basically a remake of the first RR, hence the feeling. I read it somewhere years and years ago. Still one of the best RRs.
I also see rr5 was never released for the original Xbox, Why?
PS2 Launch title.
Vが好き
rr v cars were faster he had to use nitrous catch up to rr 5 car, played than all.still playing rr 7 online still today

RR V has arcade version Arcade battle
Lee Robson though i'm a fan of the original 7 is very very good. Look up the other tracks. Great vibrant colours and fun nitrous upgrade system
