- In todays video my MPC 611 IS FINALLY WORKING AGAIN! After a long 7 months 611 can finally run forwards again and it came back right in time before my vacation! For graduation I got the MPC era passenger car set for this exact locomotive so now I finally have another complete set! I hope you enjoy all the fun action in todays video! Thanks for watching!
Hey Corey, there are several add on cars that came along though the years. A dome car not to long after the set was released, a full dome car, a dinner car and a sleeper.
This locomotive was the best choice to be brought back by Lionel in 1981
I have a Lionel catalog from that year.
Nice video Corey! Everybody should have a little baby 611!
And when you see "The Queen Of The Fleet" herself at Stasburg, trust me, it's something you'll remember the rest of your life! Awesome machine!
Yesssss!! Love this vid!! I have this very loco still brand new in box!!!
There is a dome car for that passenger set it's #9567 and there is also a Dining car for that set #7203 that was an add-on. I have that set and it is one of my absolute favorites. I have the Post War 746, the 6-8100 (the same #611 that you have), the 6-18040 #612 which are all excellent examples of conventionally operated N&W J-class steamers.
Awesome set! I actually have it packed away, I bought it after just seeing the Queen of Steam herself! But after watching your video I gotta unpack it! I honestly don't remember how many cars came with it! Lol. The fact it was your grandfather's? Priceless!
Looks like it still has some traction issues, but glad it's running nice and smooth! The rake of passenger cars looks perfect behind it.
Nice hat ad sign 😉
Wonderful video, I recently just picked up the Chessie System Steam Special MPC Set! Once I get an opportunity, I’ll have to film a video on it!
It's always nice to get a locomotive out for repair back on the home tracks. Very nice indeed! I see you like the remote switches verses the manual switches. I have one remote and the rest are manual. I just enjoy the feel of manually throwing the switches. Nice video. Liked and subscribed.
Ozark Midland & Southern Railway thank you so much! The reason I like remote is because I donʻt have to run across the layout to flip a switch haha! I understand exercise is important but my model trains come first especially if theres about to be a wreck or something haha! Thanks for the comment!!
Glad to see that awesome 611 set back on your layout! Sorry I missed you all at Strasburg!
That is a Beautiful looking train I am glad it is working again.
Great looking train Corey. I am glad the 611 is up and running again.
That's a nice set that you've got there. The cars look wonderful 👍
I have the MTH RAILKING 611.Its one of the very first runs.It has a position type smoke unit.I like it
very much..And it is fast. And I took a trip behind the real thing.611 has one the deepest sounding whistles.
I have ever heard.I will never ever forget it.
I love MPC trains.
hi corey hey like your video's ,especially your latest on N&W 611,i too also have the same set but minus the baggage car but was able to get the right dome car for that set ,they can be hard to find &a little pricey but worth it if you can find one ,well wish you a good vacation ,enjoy it ,and keep on running those trains thanks walt
Those are great pieces! Glad to see it back on your layout. 🚂💨👍🏻
What a beautiful consist! Great to see the engine running again!
🚂 Cool - Classic Lionel 😎
Fabulous!
That's a nice set-up! I really like your layout! How many trains can you run at 1 time? Any chance I can get a copy of your track plan?
Lionel made a full dome, vista dome, dining car and a sleeper car for this set!
Good to see it run, Where do you live, I am in Newport News, not far from Norfolk. Where is 611 now.
To my knowledge 611 is at the Strasburg Railroad and running there until sometime in October. Check the Strasburg website for particulars.
When not running it lives in the Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke.
Wow.
I just got this same locomotive today and cars and I’m wondering what size turn radius are you running it on?
