Swedish and Finnish police are much the same. 99% soft, 1% hard. When push comes to shove you do not want to face a Nordic officer.

I was a police volunteer when I was younger. The officers can be really firm if required. But they are always professional. In most situations, it is adequate to be kind and helpful. We had even a bad case of domestic violence in the neighbourhood with children involved. The dedication of the phone operators and officers was impressive.

we do in many areas. but other than that the general attitude towards police is good. but our police also basically always had a good attitude towards us. even if he has had a bad day.
From an outside perspective it seems like you guys have gotten stuck in a bad cycle of:
Police doing something stupid -
people lose trust in police -
people start behaving badly towards police -
police have to start excepting people to be dicks towards them -
Then that police does something stupid and escalates things again because of bad expectations...
Aaand the cycle continues and gets more and more extreme

@@Poifoprill It also doesn't help that the police education is only about 6 months. It takes a longer time to become a barber or a plummer than to be a certified police in the states. I'm not one to judge, but one key area that I've noticed from videos is that they rather escalate than deescalate.
