hi there . thats a good looking mill .looks like a lot of home made parts . lots of work there , been there .is that a 0 01 mill john
00 I believe! I might need to contact you soon to ask some questions! Best way to get in touch?
Looks like a 0 sawmill to me. But i base my knowledge with info from John frick n jeep.😊
I did some quick research:
Frick painted the sawmills red. Husks, carriages and ways were
built of high grade, Southern long-leaf yellow pine, accurately
mortised, tenoned and braced together.
Good to hear you're so busy with filling your orders that you have little time to keep on top of the cleaning. Looking forward to the rebuild of the Frick mill.
Paint red, white and blue. Or which color you wish. It is your mill.
paint the new mill the same as the LT, while you're at it, paint the circular mill too. It would be nice to get a tour of the and buildings.
My brother had a Frick mill like yours hooked up to a 4 cylinder Detroit Deisel he used for 40 years. I would paint it red since that is the original color.
Will be very interested in watching the assembly of the new saw will. Agree re painting it red.
Looks like a good project. I think a nice JD green would be a good color!
Look forward to the new sawmill going together. Paint it orange!!
I can see that sawmill in a bright yellow paint ! ...
I was going to say that
I thought that was a Frick mill. The one I started offbearing on in around 68 and it's still going. The grandson of the sawyer/logger is running it. It had a 4-71 that the numbers said was made in the early 50's but now has a 6-71 but the 4-71 just needs an inframe. It'll make you a good mill. Paint it red like they come with. God Bless
Congratulations on the new Sawmill!! I would go with a bright red. Great video guys!👍🏻
Fire Engine Red with White pulleys and hardware
Good morning Ernie from NYS. The new lumber mill you are installing uses a circular blade which will allow you to mill much bigger logs. Enjoy your videos.
Looking forward on seeing the new sawmill up and running.
I think it would look great in safety yellow with gloss black accents
Green for sure
RED!!!! Fire engine red.
You have enough orange stuff around there already.
You are ahead of us with all that flat ground.
The tractor helps too
We had a fork lift.
Can't wait to watch you build that new mill
I really like RED for a sawmill color. Can’t go wrong with red.
Congrats on your sawmill. Green is my choice for the moving parts red for the tracks.
Good choice!
A great find
Congratulations! Can't wait to see the transformation of your new mill.
You and me both!
I purchased a Frick 00 about 2 years ago and an trying to get it set up again. Running it with a 471 detroit 2stroke diesel. Good luck guys.
Would love to see it!
Where are you located
Looks like a nice mill.stay with original color.
Awesome, my uncle had one
Heck yeh, we want to see you put together and set up your new mill. Looking forward to it.
As an ol timer I have no doubts that you will have that new mill up and running in no time, I recognize your mechanical skills, I firmly give you 4 stars in a few years you will absolutely master the trade. So now you have two circle mills and two band mills..🤔 you have potential to have multiple set ups now for any job. Enjoying your channel and if you don't mind my suggestion, next time that blade glide roller goes out, consider replacing the inner bearing, that would be much cheaper and would be easy for you to do.
Battleship grey with yellow accents would be my choice.
Nice looking mill.
I'm in search for a board cut scale that advances as you saw, to get thickness.
Congratulations on the mill. Me and my brothers grew up around Frick sawmills . Would go get slabwood every weekend. If u need any replacement parts look up D&D sawmill service in Chambersburg PA .
Thanks for letting me know! I actually got their number today. I will be giving them a call!
Kudos on yous guys, hope your new sawmill works out better than planned. God bless 🙂👍
Color don't matter to me, prolly whatever color yous can get for cheap but of good quality. 🙂👍
I would keep it red......and that looks like a good deal to me...............
I definitely would like to see more of the pallet wood content.
Paint it a candy apple red, with a white streak on it
Hey like your new to you sawmill hope that you take us along as you set it up. Your wife is only wife that happy to buy another saw milll great video thanks for sharing
We love sawmills!
Allis Chalmers orange. 👍
Nice addition to your operation well deserved ! Red would be ok .
Good video, pant the sawmill red.
Show settin up the old (new) sawmill . 😊
Paint the mill kubota orange🙂 congrats on getting the new mill
Not to worry, i am going to follow on this fine Frick mill.
Thanks!!!
Mill looks to be in fairly good shape. A power unit and a blade and a lot of hard work and it'll be making lumber.
Paint it original factory colors.
As an alternate suggestion: All moving parts, i.e. carriage, mandrels, pulleys, etc. paint them red all non moving parts, i.e. husk, tracks, foundations, decks, etc. paint them 'dirty off white'....and this isn't a lol moment, I'm being serious!
No paint! just Owatrol, love it just de way it is!
Looks great I can't wait to see it set up looking forward to it. Great find nice addition to the fleet👍
You and me both! Thanks!
The Frick machinery was really well made. Your mill looks great! A nice deep red or maroon would look great. I did notice some kinda rough welding on the spokes of the big drum at 9:57 - I'd suggest an inexpensive dye penetrant crack test on the spoked ends, after sandblasting it. If the welder knew what he was doing there won't be an issue, but if he didn't there could be cracks under the paint. Hope not. Cheers!
Thanks for the tips! I’m planning on replacing most the welded bits!
The color to paint the sawmill? Orange is a great color for the sawmill. It will match the tractor. Are you setting up the sawmill using concrete piers or some permanent setting arrangement ?
Noice frick n sawmill guys 🤣♥️🍻🌳🌲👌👍😎
I would go with Rustolium cherry red 😊
New subscriber. Can’t wait to see the Frick in action. Been on the hunt for one for my property. Looking forward to seeing you guys/gal get it going. What’s the power plant going to be?
How about Cat yellow, make it look completely different!😂
Hey guys, I think you should pant it the orginal color!
I think you will love the old frick. thanks.
Awsome love the content. I pulled a 0 frick out od the woods a couple years ago and restored it. My main advice is get the bottom of the saw atleast 2 to 3 feet above grade. You have good support equipment and sawdust removal is always a pain.
Thanks for watching!
Do you already have e a power for it
We ran ours off steam tractor fir a year.
We then got a Greyhound 366 Detroit.
Setting our Frink up took two years
All the wood had to be replaced. We reported many of the babbitt bearings.
Hi like yalls vids so far. Had an idea if ya add in some cow poop to saw dust pile and compust it down. You could have a side hustle . In saleing compust to gardeners
Thanks for watching! Not a bad idea.
You could add it to your garden . Or put in 40/50 lb bags sale for 10 to 15 dollars a bag. 100 bags . It'll be 1000 to 1500 bucks
I would like a Frick mill to saw just pine.
I agree with others. Keep it red.
Keep it Red.
Pink. Pink Frick yea that's what I would do.
Paint it red. It'll look great
Looking forward to the sawmill project . Maybe Oliver green with yellow lettering. Working with wood is dirty hard work it will be cleaned up when it happens,, let the complainers come and do it for you. Enjoy all you guys do just keep doing what you're doing.
Thanks so much for the positivity!
Early Frick sawmills were brick red.
I had one in the 70s
She allows you all the toys 😂😂😂
His and Hers sawmills.. how romantic...
Isn’t it?!
I'm really young (joke) tomorrow the 5th of October I will be 78. To answer Brittney on the color. Every sawmill that I can remember, except one, has been red or yellow. The one that was as the back of the house, grand dad painted it black because that was the only color of paint he had. One suggestion: As you do the videos on the reconstruction- Number them so maybe you can go back and make a solid movie later. My hat is off to the both of you. Very few husband and wives that work together like you do. Southern - mean that too.
Good job Britney knows all about it- looks like its just been lifted off the deck of the Titanic ready for recycling` . With those legs she'll have it running by next weekend !
Orange be awsome color
Frick mill has to be red.
What color the mill should be should include what you like instead of following everyone elses ideas. I ran a mill set up for just cutting Ties for our own little train that hauled tailings and product from a small lead and silver mine. I had to pour new pillow block bearings and other small things that had to periodically be fixed. I wanted a color that made me happy to stare at all day. I painted the tracks a bright gray or silver color. This by the way was back in the seventies so paint options were just not that plentiful so I had choices from other equipment companies for the durability. We had a old Link Belt loader and dad had bought paint for it but got rid of it before we used the paint up. I liked the red color of that loader and so used the Red for the Link Belt loader on the carriages, the tooling for the logs tooling..... I am drawing a blank in my head as to the names of the stuff that holds logs in place to be sawed but if you would please forgive this seventy four year old subscriber of you'ns, it would help to rest my mind a lot. I have to tell you that my mill set on logs for skidding it to different places because hauling the logs to the mill was a issue. This was in the cascade mountains of washington state in a area that did not see much of the outside world and so doing with what ya have. Lots of times we would dump all the trees in a small river and take them down river to a location to skid right up on the mill or decks. Our mill ran most of the time on two shifts because what we didn't need, Burlington Northern bought from us for their systems. Almost all old growth timber where trees ran a hundred foot without a limb on them..... DOUG FIR! We also had hemlock and it made nice Ties as well. Occasionally when someones house burnt down or just a young family starting, we would stop, figure out how much was needed of what sizes and such, and then just saw the logs to lumber for that new house to be built from. These are the days of when even though rent was pretty high, as in two hundred a month was the average.... now wouldn't it be nice to see times like that again! Everyone pretty much worked for the mill and that includes store folks too because without tools or food, no one is going to be happy. BACK TO THE COLORS/LOL. We tried to make it easier to see things that move or what ever it was that needed attention most ...... make it easy to see any problems like cracks or wheel wobble, bearings leaking grease and such. I don't know just how this mill is set up but guessing the problems with a poured bearing has been upgraded to a bearing that uses grease fittings and stuff too numerous to name. This is probably enough for one comment as too long won't get read. Thank you for sharing your line of work kids
green
You're doing good. If you haven't worked at a sawmill you might not understand. Like my dad always said this bossing job sure is hard on gloves.
are you going to sand blast the new mill
Paint it Red, that way blood won't show on it. 😅Besides, it looks like it was already red, and your tractor is red.
Keyboard haters -
I don't get why folks seem to think they have the right to tell others how to run their lives and take care of things. These people have nothing to do with the operation, and would have no idea that it existed if it were not for the channel.
For those who think they need to tell others how they need to do things - GO TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN LIFE!
Forest Green for color
Nice looking frick. Been rewooding mine. Lots of work. Good luck
Thanks 👍! I will be working on this one soon!
@@wallacefarmandsawmill excellent looking frick! Was it a running mill when you bought it? Also, what are you gonna use to power it?
It wasn’t. Been parked several years now.
DARK GREEN, DARK GREEN and DARK GREEN!!!
And I would put it at the end of the Corley mill and inline
Fire Engine Red!
RED is the only color for FRICK MILL!!!
From Australia. Are you going to put a hand wheel on it so Brittany can work the handle and get it working otherwise you need to find a decent Diesel motor to run it. Probably need to take out shares in WD40 and Penetrene as well.
THANKS!
I watch a old fellow that has 2. His Chanel is fricknjeep. He knows a heck of a lot about them. He started his channel for information about Frick sawmills.
Need to find you an old Detroit diesel for power.
Put fluid in your tires front and back it will help, I enjoy watching what you all are doing, you make it look too easy and I know it's not, be care full ! also you have a good wife to help.
Frick Red
forest green
Whatever color it was back in the day
YELLOW
John Deere Industrial Yellow
That looks like fun to restore. Are you going to leave it as a line shaft or change to something else?
Red from Lowes $30 a gallon
Hey Tyler, did you happen to notice your name isn't correct on your t-shirt?
I did,,,lol.
Pink
If you are working 6-7 days a week, you have enough business to hire help. To make money, you need to hustle the work, and have people doing the work for you. Maybe another mill might be a good idea if you are wanting to do the work, too.
One day.
O0 frick I have one just like it you will like it
The original colors….Green with orange handles and knobs.
Victory red
Did you get an edger or power unit with the new saw mill?
You're very lucky that you have a woman who is on board with you. She is on board, right? Lol!
