HOW TO JOIN FLEECE BACKED EPDM MEMBRANES ONTO ADJACENT FLAT ROOFS USING TERMINATION BARS

Tools required:
• Tape measure
• Scribe
• Spirit level
• Paintbrush
• Penny roller
• Silicone roller
• Sealant gun
• Impact driver or cordless drill
• Leaf blower
Materials required:
• FlexiProof Spray Contact Adhesive
• FlexiProof 6 inch Mechanical Fixing Tape
• FlexiProof EPDM Primer
• FlexiProof Water Block Mastic
• Termination bar
• Self-sealing termination bar screws
• Circular patch
• FlexiProof Lap Edge Sealant
• Surgical gloves
• Glass cleaner
• Black plastic cover caps
Things to be aware of:
• The prepared roof surface must be clean, dry, and free from dust and contaminants (bitumen, oil, etc).
• This EPDM roof detail may require applying long strips of Mechanical Fixing Tape. Be sure to carefully align the tape along the join and keep it straight. To mitigate problems on windy days, use weights to hold the tape in place. Or use two installers - one keeping the tape straight, the other holding it in place.
• Before applying Mechanical Fixing Tape, make sure the EPDM membrane is dry (especially following rainfall or dew), but avoid scorching it.
• Remember, all FlexiProof tapes are pressure-sensitive and require rolling to activate.
