I just recently switched to calorie counting! I did WW freestyle for 8 months (Jan- Aug) and really liked it BUT didn't love it for maintaining! I had been maintaining my weight since April, and It still felt like I was just eating so little food! I know enough about nutrition to know how little I was eating so I was enjoying a few "cheat meals" each week and recently just felt the need to make some changes!! I love that you are eating in a good caloric intake and showing others its possible to lose weight and eat more than what the norm is!!! I settled in at 1700-1900 calories just to see where my body would maintain at. So far I've lost weight and next week am going to push to 2000 and just keep slowly adding in until my body settles! Just want to say thanks for showing the switch from WW to calories! Its been really encouraging to watch! I (and i'm sure many others!!!!) know when something doesn't fit my needs anymore but don't like change because of fear that something new won't work! Cheers Mindy!!
I am so glad to hear it! I feel the same way. I like WW for a lot of reasons, especially because it addresses the whole mindset thing and talks about habits. I think it's a good jumping off point, but it wasn't working for me for maintenance. I needed less restriction and to be able to eat a little more. It has really helped me not go overboard on the "non-compliant" meals/treats, too, because a candy bar just costs me 250calories instead of half of my points for the day! To each his own, but I'm liking this approach.
All I know is that 40 years ago I first heard about calories in versus calories out. I started counting my daily calories and kept it around 1500 calories a day for the rest of my life. These days it's much easier with apps like MyFitnessPal. I eat the foods that I like and eat mostly whole foods. That is simply because you get more satiety for fewer calories that way. I am never hungry. My weight has stayed at the recommended level of 185 except for one time when I stopped counting my calories for about 6 months. People have asked me what my secret is for staying at weight. All I can say is that it is a matter of persistence. P.S. - I threw out my bathroom scale decades ago. I simply monitor the notches in my belt to see how I am doing. The only time I get weighed is when I go for my physical.
I do Calorie Command on ITrackBites and it is nice to see someone else not afraid to eat over 1500 calories. I see so many people who feel like they have to only do 1000-1200 calories / day. I do Calorie Cycling so my days range from 1260-1890 with 1575 as my standard at the moment. Sorry to ramble - I just wanted to say I am a new subscriber and I'm looking forward to following you. Thanks for sharing with us.
You're not rambling! Thanks for the comment. Yes, when I think about it, I am shocked that I ever entertained eating at such a low caloric intake during several "diet" stints in my life. My BMR is around 1400-1500, so I am finally realizing that the arbitrary 1200 calories a day for weight loss is crazy! I hope I can show people there's a gentler, less drastic way to do it. Especially as we draw close to our weight range.
The Blonde espresso at Starbucks is naturally sweeter. Some of the beans come from Latin America so they're not as strong and have a sweeter flavor. Also, the beans are not roasted as long as normal Espresso beans. Just thought I'd share. I use blonde in my drink to help decrease my sweetener.
I too count calories and have lost close to 20 lbs. I started in June and as of today, 20 lbs. I have to write everything down. I also TRY to figure out how many calories are in everything I make. I needed to do this and it has worked out well. I try to make sure I'm eating the right foods (and most of the time I am). I also have bad eating days, which I make up by eating very light. I feel great losing those 5lb bags of sugar off me!
You always have great videos! Wow did that chicken bubble up look yummy. I’ll have to make that one soon. I always love those casserole type dinners. Especially with fall approaching. Thanks for taking us on your day. 🌼🌼SusY 😃
I really like it and it's super easy, but I always think it's a tad salty (which is saying a lot because I like salt!), so I need to figure out how to remedy that.
Yep, I feel great! I naturally have dark eyelids and darker skin under my eyes. It's something I correct with makeup. Sometimes I don't wear any, though, or it wears off. Also, that day I was wearing heavier eyeliner and shadow than usual, and sometimes it rubs off under my eyes throughout the day because I'm bad about rubbing my eyes! haha!

No eating sticks of butter, and lbs of bacon cooked in lard wow I actually found someone on RUclips who isn't pushing KETO and had results.
actual results?
Word! I went to 1650 and dont eat my exercise calories. 72 ounces water and 7-8 hrs sleep. Guess what? It is coming down again.....
This is such a balanced and realistic way to calorie count and diet. Thank you for this video 🧡🧡
Glad it was helpful!

@@SeeMindyMom yes, yes and so much yes. 😊
This was very helpful! I’m also aiming for 1700. Tracking seems less overwhelming now. 👌🏻

I plan to try this next time. Thanks for the tip, Denise!
Thank you for this I have tried everything except counting calories. I’m starting today. ❤️
Premier Protein with 2 shots of espresso is my go to crack 😂
It’s sooo good. Love your video. ❤
You crack me up.
I needed some Mindy this morning.
Love these type of videos! Very motivating

What was your daily intake to lose your 20lb?

I love peanut butter and almond butter
How tall are you? I’m 5’0. So I have to eat 1200 of less 😰
That chicken bubble up looks delicious. I can never cook asparagus to the right consistency so I always order it when I eat out~~~Sandy
I still don't get it right all the time. The blanching is the key.
Very helpful, thank you for sharing 😊
Omg, I do that all the time! Nothing better than a scoop of peanut butter....Jif in my case!😝
I'm a Peter Pan fan, but I buy Jif, too. :)
What’s you’re weight and workouts
I'm doing calorie counting also at 1700. :)
1650 me
I eat peanut butter that way as a snack lol. I love me some pb. Have you tried the jiff whips? I really like it and less calories
Yes! I normally eat Jif Whips. Peter Pan is my favorite of all time and they now make a whipped PB, but I can't find it everywhere.
Gotta try that bubble up casserole! 👍😄💕.
It's delicious! I think it's a tad salty, so I plan to use less seasoning next time, or buy a lower sodium soup to use with it
I’m in Arizona where it is 102 degrees, but we do not have your humidity
Last week, the temperature was 99, but the heat index was 114!!! The humidity is a killer.
Definitely NOT uncommon!! LOL That's my nightly treat...
Great day!💖
thanks, Bee!
Love PB! 😋
Me, too. If I could only take one food with me to a deserted island, that would be it!
Enjoyed your video😊
What church do you belong to ?
We are at Asbury UMC in Tulsa
Mindy, are you okay. You have dark circles.
