Took your advice on some of the cleaning products which worked great with my 2nd job last week. I recommend the Kenmore Spotlight for a good car shampooer, id be suprised if your $1700 one is much better. This Kenmore was super quick and pulled all the dirt right out. I'm running this business in the back of my Hyundai Veloster. Currently I am requiring hose hookup and power and customers are cool with it. About to start my 2nd Facebook add tomorrow to start getting appointments for next week! I have 4 SUV's and a boat interior to detail this week. Never cleaned a boat in my life lol.
I'm doing exterior as a bonus, I try to mainly sell people on the Interior with a +$20 Foam Cannon hand scrub pressure wash. This is ONLY to get additional money out of the people who only want interior.

I found success with the Rigid 4g 5HP shop vac for dirt extraction for shampooing. There is a $200 attachment you can get which will give you results like the Mytee. I'm using spray bottles and P&S 3 step currently. Also, are you running your generator outside of the vehicle? After reading the instructions I decided to put mine outside but I literally just added "At your work" yesterday.

Just one question for you I've been curious about- do you ever have any issues with keeping chemicals stored in your van in extreme temperatures? I have limited storage and have been hesitant to leave mine in my car.

I have detailed 9 vehicles so far and I am wanting to go so much fruther with it. I want to post but I am a little nervous to post that I am taking customers due to the fact that there is another full time detailer about 4 miles south from me and I am actually pretty cool with him. I don't see him as competition BUT i do get nervous that I wont get many customers. He has his own shop, does ceramic coating, paint correction, and bug/tar removal alongside detailing itself. Any tips at all? Any advice?

This makes sense if you have no place to store all your equipment or if you are taking same day jobs as you go but if not it seems excessive to carry all that. If you know the jobs you have for that day, just bring all that you need for the days job and not the whole kitten caboodle.

You should switch out the steamer to the front & put the extractor in the back. Looks to tight with the generator in the way.

So with your gas pressure washer you need to buy a external water pump like the comet one?
If it is a belt drive unit you don't need any external pump to prime it, so I'm assuming the pump is belt drive.
Do you wash and buff and wax trailers? Do you have any videos of trailer care? I have a painted .040 aluminum pet grooming trailer that has some scratches I want to minimize.

I think there really slammed at the moment. I signed up about a month ago and I think I’m just getting into the rotation. Few weeks of spotty response emails or no call backs but I believe in the system so I’m cool with waiting

Do it! Trust me there’s plenty of people who just want exterior washes! Nobody wants to wash their car, especially in this heat. Then once you start interior detailing, you’ll already have clientele!
