Greatest shmup of all time, without a doubt. The aesthetics, the music, the gameplay, the bosses, the story, this game has it all. My only hope is that this gets on Steam Greenlight like Ikuraga just did. This game needs to be experienced by more people.
This is some insane high-level play. He gets grazed by the bullets to get more points (most of us try to avoid them and still die), he's mastered the color chain system...just a dream to watch.
For those new to RS, a lot of the bosses are homages to other shmups. "GALOP" for example is a reference to R-Type (invincible shield, sine wave lasers, missile pods) and "Armed Police Unit Gallop" was an R-Type game.
Eritsu, your last hours of your humanity might've been nothing but torture, misery and despair, but that's no excuse to take it out on humanity and it's destiny!
Story of the game: An octahedron-shaped artifact called the Stone-Like, along with a non-functioning robot, has been unearthed. Earth's secretary of defense, Chief Igarashi, orders the Stone-Like to be examined. Meanwhile, up in Earth's atmosphere, inside the spaceship Tetra, Commander Tengai issues Buster, Reana and Gai to test out the three new Silvergun prototype fighter crafts. Back on Earth, Igarashi relays information on the Stone-Like and the robot, claiming it has the serial number 00104, the exact same number of the robot aboard the Tetra, CREATOR 00104. Tengai cannot believe this be just a coincidence (partly due to Igarashi proving that it is, indeed the same robot), and has the three Silvergun pilots on standby. Suddenly, the Stone-Like starts to act up and destroys the facility containing it. As it overwhelms the Earth defense forces, the Stone-Like wipes out all life on Earth in a magnificent flash. Only the crew of the Tetra remain unharmed, as they were in satellite orbit. One year after the Stone-Like destroyed Earth, the Tetra, running low on supplies, makes its return to Earth.
Treasure sure were on a roll in the 90s. 3 games on the Mega Drive that were genuine 'Top 10' candidates and 2 for the Saturn. McDonalds Treasure Land wasn't bad either!
This game Radiant Silvergun is just MAGNIFICENT! i mean boss after boss battles are spectacular and the soundtrack is incredible, i got lost in the games music and i love it! Treasure you are a wonderful maker of shooters, God bless you guys.
One of my favorite games of all time. I was one of the lucky importers of the original...I did it on a blind purchase, and I've never been more impressed with a shooter. I also love how they got that R-Type homage in there with the stage 3 boss (notice that it uses all the traditional R-9 weapons). FANTASTIC. This is one of my Top games of all time.
Greatest Shootemup ever made. Colours are incredible, bullet patterns are so tech, the backgrounds are so cinematic and beautiful, and the soundtrack is bliss. Nothing beats it, the only that comes close is Ikaruga
Yes, back in the day, I spent $300 to buy this and a Japanese Sega Saturn, before it came to XBLA. Totally worth it.

We need a Switch port of this gem!

The techniques you use in your playthrough are of extreme elegance. I'm beyond words. I couldn't help but watch the entire thing.

Big ups to Treasure for making the most fun yet weirdly nihilistic Shmup ever.
the video didn't skip the intro cutscenes, so I expected to watch every dialogues... then at

A physical version of Radiant Silvergun has been released for the Switch. It comes as a standard version and a collectors edition.

The ending of this game was.... simply F**Ked up.. it cut deep to my heart like chainsaw, when i played it till the end.
I love how they got Hitoshi as the composer for this game. Great fit from Final Fantasy Tactics to Tactics Ogre and Valkalyria Chronicles.
