Rewatching this scene and appreciating the details sa lola's house. The capiz lamp, the giant fork and spoon, floral printed rice cooker, the pandesal on the table. UGH! 👩🏻🍳 🤌🏽
You forgot to mention the Santo Niño
@@notme6753 and the native sword display thingy.
Kopiko at the top of the fridge
Where are the plastic cover around the couches
@@flippoy lol they are at 1:16. I guess not couches but the sofa chair things. But Lola for sure has the dining table covered on top of the plastic lace of course
A normal lola will do the sign of the cross, shout susmaryosep or get her tsinelas (flipflops/chancla/slippers) or walis tambo (soft broom) and hit Spiderman repeatedly while probably shouting 'demonyo!' 😂
.. and scolding MJ for wasting the pandesal! HALA!!😡
HAHAHAHA SO TRUE
I was wondering if that was pandesal lmao. The disrespect to Pandesal though 😩
Tama
Tagalog Lola = will say "susmaryosep!", throws a tsinelas and runs to tell her neighbors.
Ilonggo Lola = will say "Yo de Puta!", throws a bakya and will get her Karambit Blade heirloom and try to slash the intruder.
Cebuano Lola = will say "Pisting Yawa!", throws a silhig (broom) shouts to the neighbors and gets her husband's bolo and will try to stab the intruder.
Tausug Lola = will say "Halipuloh!", throws her freshly made Pastil then runs to his grandchildren where each will grab their Magnum .357 or 9mm to shoot their Lola's Intruder. "Welcome to Mindanao Madafaka!!!"
The way Andrew said "Sorry Lola" xD is just so cute and funny
I so agree!

_as a Filipino myself; lola was just your average nana, who secretly gives you extra bucks, gave more food until you got tummy full and also being wholesome and has a selfless love_
And then your mother keeps it hehe
@@arcsadventure5245 that is why I hate moms keeping your bucks
Selfless love comes from grandparents.
This scene was sensory overload. Seeing him have a Lola and at her house was more than enough and then realizing that this was the reveal scene, I was freaking out. The tagalog just made me pass out 😂
There was almost no time for me to mourn Aunt May cause I was already applauding the Lola and house reveal!
Finally we can see what Lola is saying in the subtitles. The translator pegged it as Cebuano, not Tagalog, but still a language in the Philippines. It hints at Jacob's background as more than Hawaiian, like his character Ned.
Nope. I speak Cebuano. What Lola is speaking is Tagalog. But based on her accent, I can say Tagalog is not her first Language.
I don't know about you but, as a Filipino, the pronunciation is on point. The accent is somewhat off on some parts but majority of the times, she nailed it.
@@ToonMageChannel exactly. The accent gave it away. The Lola lacks the sly intonations when pronouncing the a's and e's. Not Tagalog, but definitely not cebuano. It's too soft be cebuano.
@@user-bm5ht8ze2t According to an interview, she's from Iloilo but is now living in Hawaii.
@@roalf Well that explains it. She's ilongga.
While everyone was cheering In the cinema my uncle was screaming HE HAS A LOLA!
You know how we Filipinos are
My mom was like "your lola had the same knives on the wall"
It’s so weird watching this for the first time without the screams and jumps from everyone in the movie theatre lol
You go to the theater?
I must say.The house was well thought of.A very typical Filipino home. All those subtle details, furniture of Pinoy home.
Kudos to the production team.
-The giant spoon and fork on the wall.
-Altar with Sto.Nino and Mama Mary.
-The capiz lights/lamp.
-The Curtains.
-The Dining table with embroidery covered in plastics.
-The sofa covered in plastic.
-The family pictures.
-The graduation picture.
-Kopiko.
-The condiments like the suka.
-The flowery design rice cooker.
-The pandesal and kakanin.
-The sewing machine.
Sabi na kopiko yun e haha

I felt that ned’s Lola stole the scene, which is quite a feat considering what I was NOT expecting from this scene when I first saw it.
One the best and biggest moments I have ever experienced. Finally we saw the three spiderman brothers coming together. Really feels like a dream. ❤️😍
And there's a Lola!!
Filipino moviegoers must have gone berserk when they started hearing Tagalog.
oh yes we did 😭
Hearing Tagalog in a Hollywood movie is such an honor
Unfortunately it was postponed so long that most of Filipinos already watched the leak online. And few got to enjoy the Endgame like roar in this scene 😔
Took us by surprise in the theatre.
@@vincentlopez6271 i didn't haha.. I held back as much as i can hahaha...
As someone who grew up with the Toby Spider-Man I cried when he came on screen. It’s such a dream come true. He is my hero
I love how she smiled at tobey
Yeah. I also loved how they waved at each other.
Lola just thought "ay gwapo." 🤣🤣
Can anyone explain if I’m missing something here? Like did she know him?? I’m confused with tobeys entrance because it seems like he’s in on something.
@@beltrancastonshe is the litte girl who that toby saved her from The building Buring from Spider-man 2 (2004)
as a american girl born with ofw parents from cebu, this scene really made me crack up and smile because I just loved the representation of "lola" and im proud to say i understood every word of what she said.
I showed this scene to my parents and they were really pleased and even laughed at this scene lol. I remember this being the biggest surprise I had in the film because I expected everything except this😂😂 It was just an absolute honor to have our culture represented in this historic and legendary film even in it's slightest.
Such an iconic tagalog scene
Thank you Marvel and Sony as well as Amy Pascal for representing us Filipinos (and by extension, us Filipino-Americans) in such a heartfelt yet comical way and using our language. It's so wonderful to hear my native tongue in arguably the best Marvel movie since Avengers - Endgame.
Why to represent flipino
And why do you get one like?
I miss my Lola, she speaks like that when she tells me to clean my room.
when Tobey peter parker look at Neds lola (grandmother) and they both smile to each other, that is a indication that aunt may on tobey's timeline is already gone. Tobey peter just saw aunt may presence to Ned's lola
Andrew Garfield: Oh, sorry lola
Every filipino: HE'S INVITED TO ALL THE COOKOUTS!!
2 reasons why i was happy at the lola scene
1. Im filipino
2. I DONT HAVE TO LOOK AT SUBTITLES 🤩
But I’m Filipino that doesn’t speak any Philippine languages or Spanish just bland English and ASL
@@jacobwong2230 we're you not taught to speak Tagalog?
@@jacobwong2230 Ned's Lola mentioned the spanish words basura and pero. so she spoke Tagalog and some Spanish. We call it Filipino.
@@ronberi7773 Yes.. I see it more as Filipino than Tagalog.
My lola would be upset if someone throws the pandesal she served 😞
Yes, Filipinos would never throw food at each other. THAT is sacrilege!
Pandesal is too yummy to waste.
Okay...call em whatever you want, bread rolls, Hawaiian rolls, whatever but the thought of Zendaya throwing pandesal at Andrew Garfield just makes me laugh every time haha.
I want to show the world how heartwarming a 'Lola' is
Being American born Filipino, seeing Filipinos in arguably the biggest entertainment studios in Marvel gives me hope in being in a marvel movie in the future. 🤞🏽
it’s weird watching this without the audience cheering and screaming! i saw this opening night in california a dat after our trip to new york last december! it was the best christmas gift i received, thank you marvel and sony
Yeah, I miss the pinoys cheering with tears of joy and hands on their chest.
I love that she was so distrustful to Andrew Garfield's spiderman but Toby's she was like I trust him there my loveable dorky spiderman.
Lola & i have the same smile when tobey appears. He was my first spidey hero & my favorite peter parker.
I've seen it multiple times but I still jump up when they start firing cobwebs at each other. :D
i was waiting for the lola's "Dios mio" reaction, i hear that a lot from my mother, aunts and lolas hhahaha
It feels weird to watch this alone without crowd shoutings just like in cinemas 🤣
Yeah, felt silent. Nothing beats of a cinematic experience with a fellow audience cheering and shouting seeing this movie.
Hahahahaahhahahaha. That's so true.
When Ned said, "Great it's just some random guy", I bet the entire theatre laughed xDDD
Ahhh I love this scene so much! I'm so happy we got to meet Ned's Lola 🥰🙃
The chemistry between Zendaya and Andrew Garfield is just another level.. 😭 I'm sorry Tom
Weirdo
Girl what they barley meet a year ago tom meet her over 6 years ago stfu like Tom and Z are together get over or
Let’s be honest, Andrew has chemistry with everyone he does a scene with! He’s great
No that’s just Andrew
@@marggiepv i agree with you
I love Ned's lola especially the accent it is just my favorite part abt this whole movie😭💅🏼✨
3:15 ~ Context Translation: "Ned, Tell that man to remove the cob webs up there in the corner."
The Tagalog threw me off and that was great. Even my mom was surprised too. We didn't expect a Filipino scene moment and of all of the movies, in an MCU movie especially.
Nice to see Filipinos speaking Tagalog in movies ♥️🇵🇭🇵🇭
Proud to be Filipino 🇵🇭🇵🇭
Woooo peenoi fried! Pilipinsnambawan!
Di yan filipino grabe di mo ata alam accent mo ah
Cringe filipino prider…
I was screaming so much on the inside when Toby came in
The best thing about spidey is that he is also in netflix
Cool how one of the most coolest scenes in the mcu also has a filipino reference
Love Ned's Lola.. ❤
Plastic cover still on the sofa. Lol. How accurate 🤣
Omg this is hilarious. MJ is hilarious. Z is hilarious. She is perfect in this role
IKAW HUH? NAGKAKALAT KA NANAMAN 😂😂😂 every nanay's words sa makalat nilang mga anak 😂😂😂😂
Man i got goosebumps all over this scene was AMAZING
It's funny, I watched this with my parents and while everyone had no problem with it and actually loved the representation, my parents thought it was 'baduy' when she started to talk. Funny how generations are different in how they see media.
It's not about the generation, I'm young and I thought it was a bit cringe too, maybe the way she delivers it, but all in all I still appreciates the representation
It was cringey for me too. I think it was a combination of the dialogue (not because it was Tagalog) and the acting. And the script...Lola asking Andrew's Peter to clear the cobwebs, then after a couple of mins just saying she's off to sleep. And even Zenadaya's acting of MJ's reaction to Andrew...(they say Zendaya is a good actress but I guess not in this scene), and also Ned suddenly having magic and knowing how to create a portal multiple times, when it took Doctor Strange (supposedly "the best [sorcerer] of them all" a long time of training just to get it. I love the nostalgia and super love Andrew but overall, cringe.
@@stardust761 yeah and the way ned and his lola exchange words is kinda off too, it doesn't radiates "lola and apo" kind of vibes, it would've been better if they both speak tagalog but knowing that the actor can't speak it, it would've been cringier
@@etriganthedemon666 It's also weird that so many people consider it the best Spiderman movie of all time..when the script and execution leaves a lot to be desired. It's fine, but not that great.
@@stardust761 this is unpopular opinion but I don't really like any of the spiderman movies that much, unlike many other people
Lola’s are the best😍
I just love how they pass power and supernatural abilities out like candy.
Epic scenes👏
Lola’s are the best! I missed them. 🙏🏼🕊
Ahaha🤣 wow lola ginawa mong tagalinis ng kisame si spiderman nyahaha 🤣😂
As a Filipino, shes a scene stealer on this scene🤣🤣🤣. She steal the grand entrance of Tobey and Andrew lol🤣🤣🤣.
Proud representation!
I love it!! Just love it!¡

The iconic "HA?"
An angry Lola that wants her house clean and a mother holding a slipper are the 2 most terrifying people I have encountered in my life.
Love you Lola 🥰
Sana all Lola.
This is epic🔥🔥🔥
I watched No Way Home during the pandemic in Quezon City when I visited and yeah I’m actually an Fil-Am from Queens THIS SCENE was so hilarious and awesome they brought these 2 legends at sa bahay ni Lola talaga, ASTIG!🎉

Love how Lola randomly just speaks English 😂

My heart still stops when I see this
I love spider man so much and I love the ned's lola scene
Omg i love lola so much shes so sweet amd acts cute. It might not look sweet and cute to you but it is for me XD
I can still hear the audience going wild in this scene. Also I’m Filipino, and I found this so amusing to watch
Hehe nkkatuwa c lola
I miss my lola....
Love 💘 representation. Good job lola
This was my favorite part of the movie.
I know that Lola acted differently for the movie but she was too tired to throw her slipper at Spiderman hence after her dialog she said she was going to bed
LMAO ANG FUNNY PINA-ALIS NIYA YUNG AGIW KAY SPIDERMAN WILD
Wasnt expecting this lmao i shower it to my family after i saw this scene
This is one of my most favorite scene. Next to Tobey's apperance. Damn, I love Marvel.
