    This is the most underrated tutorial of this on all of youtube, I tried every single tutorial of this beanie on youtube but found them all difficult. This was the easiest to understand, I made the beanie in 1-2 days(im kinda slow and a beginner so it might be easier for the rest of you who are used to this) highly recommend. You got a new subscriber

      @@CherilynQ but i wanted to ask you, everytime I would make this beanie, the stitches would start decreasing and I've tried it so many times and it still does that. Do you have any idea why this happens?

      I’m not sure. You can use stitch markers to help locate the first and the last stitch so you won’t miss them.

    i just finished making this for my brother and it came out so nice! i chose not to carry the yarn and the result looks nice, i used a smaller hook so the eyes have a more minimalistic look. thanks for the tutorial❤

    Cherilyn, excellent tutorial! I found your pattern on Etsy after a request from my Granddaughter. Though I have been crocheting for years (better at knitting!), I had not tried tapestry crochet.       Sure! I used 104 g yarn. Get a bit more that that just in case.

      This is only for adults., but you can make it smaller by working less rows and stitches. When you reduce the row count, make sure the eyes are at the center of the panel.

      I’m going to attempt to make venom using black, gray outline for outer eye edge and white. Wish me luck, I’ve never done graph work before.

    So I finally got to the end of this beautiful beanie and I just have a question… Why do you connect the first ten stitches and then flip it? What does that do? I’m so curious but I don’t hear an explanation in the video or see one in the PDF. Looking at it in the video, I’m not sure I see a difference 🤔 Would love your insight!

    I love this tutorial, but, a problem I have with crocheting beanies, they always warp? They keep getting smaller chains, then the sides are slanted. You get what I mean? Do you know how i can prevent this? Thank you so much

      I think so - it sounds like you decreased by accident. You can use stitch markers to mark the first and the last stitch of each row, so that you don't miss any stitches. Hope this helps!

      Hi! You can look up charts online. Usually, children's head sizes fall within in a certain range based on their age. Hope this helps!

    I noticed that i did an even number of stitches for the first half of the red and you did an odd number which stopped my black from popping out as much because the black would be hidden behind 😢

      Yes, the eyes will look smaller for one.

      HDC is taller than SC, so the colorwork will be stretched horizontally.

      The chain 1 is just for turning; it's not a stitch, so work nothing in it.

    why in the world would you start it on white if we were supposed to use red yarn? just wasted about an hour and a half’s work. maybe state that you’re using a different color for demonstration next time

    I just got this pattern and I am just getting to the colorwork. I just wanted to verify that the photo you included for it is different from the one you used in this video? So it’s actually showing exactly which rows to start instead of guessing based on where the brim falls? This is my first time doing colorwork 🫣

      Hi, yes, the graph that comes with the written pattern shows exactly where you should begin the colorwork in each row, provided you are using yarn of the similar weight to the get the same size as mine. If you need to
      add or subtract stitches to adjust the height of the beanie, do it from the top of the eyes / left side of the graph.
