Listening to you in this video reminded me of how much I’ve learned and changed. God opened my eyes and my heart through your teachings. I have to remember not to put you on a pedestal but to realize that God used you mightily in my awareness of His work and His people. What I thought were truths were not always so. Thanks for being one of the voices in my life that lead me closer to God. I pray for you my friend. 🔥

Ive just made it to the New Testament and walking through Matthew with y’all. When you started getting into the parables I immediately thought of a book I’ve been simultaneously reading “Short Stories by Jesus” by Amy Jill Levine so it was nice to catch a reference to her. Really appreciate what you’re bringing to the table because I’ve truly never been more interested in the text, rather than the teacher. Don’t get me wrong I think you’re an incredible teacher but I have to commend you because what has been instilled in me this far is “what does the text say.” And I find such a freedom in now being able to say “I’m not sure…”. Because the background I came from was very independent “we know the way, everyone else is wrong & it’s our responsibility to make them aware of their wrongness.” And thankfully that never settled well within my spirit. Keep on keepin on!

Well handled! Great exposition on training the tongue to keep a private boundary space, both personally and theologically. This challenges me in my preparation.

I've always appreciated where you come from. And I learned something new about the new Paul thinking from a New Testament Jewish perspective. I never knew there was such a thing. Thanks 😁

Marty, thank you for your honesty... since discovering Bema and the discussion group I have (which is people I trust to wrestle with) I have really felt safe to ask questions and to really re think a lot of things without feeling I was disrespecting God... and His Word... my faith is really all I have ... I mean Jesus is all I have and I protect that dearly... thank you for the many good books suggestions...currenthly I m reading the book on the sermon on the mountain I am really impressed by Amy Jill Levine...wow... and heard her on a few videos on ytube and wow... I m truly impressed... and David Forhman has become a favorite... well you are really responsible for that.... thank you...

As a minister in the Church of Christ it kind of blew me away to find you at least worshiping in my historical roots.
I definitely would not fall in the traditional COC category but have been listening to you for years and would not have guessed that but I also have resonated with your theology and have wondered if you had a similar theological background or roots as me.
I appreciate this video I am also all over the map on who I find common ground with in my understanding of both Old and New Testaments.
This is not take as offense because I absolutely love you and your work but I tell people all the time when I suggest you. He has some of the absolute best stuff out there and some of the worst, but all the stuff in between is rock solid. Hopefully you can find the humor in that.
I appreciate you, your team, and your work. Thank you

I like Matthew Thiessan's work on Paul within Judaism. I want to read his books. I wonder what the implications theologically of "Paul within Judaism" are.

Have you heard of "Paul within Judaism" view of the usage of Law within Pauline Literature? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks!
