I am emotional person myself and doesnt matter how many times i watch episodes that made my cry first time, they will make me cry again. Also having good memory doesnt help. Do not watch the Netflix adaptation until you get past Water7/Enies lobby. They changed some things for the adaptation that involves a character letter on, being used in this first east blue saga. So to avoid potential spoilers I suggest u just watch the anime and then a year or so down the road when they have a Season 2, watch S1 and S2 of the netflix adaptation.
The same thing happens to me with episode 3, it doesn't matter how many times I watch it, but the story of Shank and little Luffy always brings me to tears, Shank is definitely in my top characters in this anime, obviously counting on the mugiwaras, there is also another character I have a special affection for him, I will not say his name so as not to give spoilers I will only say: "I will die with a big smile, because if one day you remember me, I want you to remember me smiling" whoever understands understood ♥

My reaction to The whole Shanks missing an arm situation was just like yours. However, I have seen clips with Shanks fighting and it NEVER crossed my kind he was using 1 arm the whole time so seeing that moment on my first run of getting throughthe series genuinely rocked my boat a bit!

SHANKS is he important ofcourse he is he is like the core of this story always appearing in 3-5 years maybe long and.. is he strong he is like the final boss of the game that he just wanders off anywhere without any hesitation like just maxing out every skills to 99/100 in the game there are only a very few characters like him in the actual story.. the bounty he has on his head at the time you saw him in this ep is mind blowing beyond our imagination.. like even the fans just find out like 1-2 years ago when flim red premiere in Japan.. he is tip on the top!! He as all the juices you can ask for.. he is HIM!!..
