My husband used a measuring tape + careful scribing to draw on the board, then circular saw and jigsaw to cut. He filled the small gap with wood fill instead of caulking so it would be hidden, then sanded it a bit to avoid over sanding! I don’t have video of it unfortunately!

Love this! Thank you for the video! What paint color are your walls and on the shiplap? Thank you!!

It took me forever to find the can of paint! It’s Benjamin Moore shoreline for the shiplap and then just their stock white for the walls and ceiling. Thanks for the comment!

What product did you use for the shiplap and top cap? There are many types that I'm seeing at Home Depot. Thank you. It's lovely!

We used 5.5 inch primed MDF from Home Depot and the cap was 1 x 4” modern door casing that was left over from our attic renovation. Thanks for the feedback!

Great video with step by step instructions and footage! About to bite off the same project to replace 1960s tile that went up 48". Can I ask what you used for the top trim piece? It looks like it overlaps the vertical boards rather than butting up against the top, and has a nice finished look.

Hi Jeff! We ended up using some extra modern cut window casing which is a bit thicker. We saw options for wood at Home Depot as well that were a bit thicker than the MDF shiplap that we bought!

Great tips as you went along and simple explanation. It's funny how many people don't plot out what they'd like to say and turn a 5 minute video into a 20 min mess of useless rambling. Thank you for not doing that haha! One question, did you guys cut the MDF into boards or was it already at the 6" width (or however wide you did it) in advance? Thank ya

Hi Chris! Thanks for the positive feedback! Yes we did buy pre-made/cut MDF from Home Depot that had the grooves in it to make the gaps all the same size! We had to cut the height of it but not the width. Thanks again!
