    Richard, you have a unique ability in the trade to rarely appear “rushed”! I know when I get going on something I tend to try and work on it at warp speed and get through it. But you keep a steady pace, take the time, keep your wits about you. I am sure you have those crazy times like all of us but I’ve noticed this consistently over the years in your videos, and I admire it.

    Yeah, HOA's typically suck like a $300.00 shop vac. Small minded people playing neighborhood overlord. If and when you get a trailer, opt for the 16' length, bearing in mind that 16' is a standard MDF length. Yeah I know, sometimes it's 14', sometimes it's 17', but you can squeeze a 17' length into a 16' trailer, not so much a 14' trailer. How do I know? I work from a 15' box van. Many times I wish for that extra foot. Fitted at a goofy diagonal, 16' material will work, you just get to use bad words in loading and unloading. Go 8' width, not 7'. The 7 ft. trailer will make you feel like you can't throw the cat out without getting fur in your teeth. 8 ft. let's you put shelves on both sides if needed.

      Render Wood yes some neighborhoods have rules or usually called “covenants”about what can and can’t be done within that development.. rules range from what colors you can paint your house to what you want to accessorize the exterior with.

    Hello! I have a quick question, I recently had an accent shiplap wall done, and the guys who installed it left a mess of overspray (white) from when they painted the boards. I have brown wood tile flooring and was wondering what you guys use to clean up floors? I know you guys do a good job at prepping the area to avoid this, but unfortunately for me it happened and it’s been a pain on trying to get them to comeback out to clean up the mess they left behind! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Keep up the great work!

    Hey Richard, I tried out the tripod you recommended from your wainscot series and it’s a great tripod but wasn’t tall enough. I found another on amazon that basically reaches the ceiling and it’s $20 for 1 or $30 for 2. Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but I wanted the height. I can go get the link if you or anyone here is interested.

    • @christophercrawford2736
      @christophercrawford2736 4 года назад

      John R i’ve only been able to use it on one job so far. It definitely has the height, but I don’t know if it’s going to be the tripod that I keep for my laser. I especially miss the panning head of the tripod that Richard uses and the Height adjustment on his is also better in that it’s very easy to fine tune your line.

    You need the biggest one you can afford. I bought a old Horse Trailer and have a Shop setup. With generator on roof and racks. Think about it the hay loft up top for storage, a built in ladder with a tack room, all your tools fit up front, with saw, router table, mini lathe. Aluminium are great but a older steel ones cheap at Auctions. PS if you can park trailer in back yard, I put a garage door in back of garage, drove thru to back yard, poured a Concrete pad, turn around to garage door front. Just saying.

    Hey marine have you given any thought to a tool trailer? I know you said that your HOA said no trailers. But since you sold your boat, you could keep your custom tool trailer in one bay of your garage, nice and safe indoors. You live in Texas and the weather is pretty mild as far as cold so the truck will be ok outside, your tool trailer inside out of prying eyes. That guy Ron Paulk has a nice trail set up , just a thought one marine to another.

    You have to have courage to tackle the jobs you do. You mentioned HOA restrictions: near Los Angeles the HOA in one new community banned pick-ups, vans, motorhomes, trailers and any vehicle with writing on it. Plus, no overnight parking in the street and no more than 2 cars could be seen parked in the driveway at night. People with 2 teen-agers driving their own cars were having lots of problems. I lived in a Condo where the HOA controlled the color of your curtains and the type of floor-mat at your entry door. The worst part of that place was the snoops who made their life's work looking for violations.

    NO. Richard, NO. I love your work, you're extremely talented and I love your channel, but NO. I'm from FW and am familiar with the gaudiness and rampant lack of taste there, but this ship-lap fetish needs to die. Ship-lap originally is how ship hulls were built, the "lap" part is from the overlap. Chip and Joanna Gaines made this horrible thing popular. Nothing says "I just got my first house" or "the Room Store is my favorite" like ship-lap. "No taste? No problem! Just slap up some ship-crap. Fake-Farmhouse, Done! You'll be avant-gaudy." That horrible trend is on it's way out, but like cargo shorts and pleated khakis, there are always some people behind the curve who don't know any better yet. And it looks even worse vertically, even though your execution was excellent.

    Just want to say I love your channel and get alot of useful tips from it. Having said that, I am new to crown moulding and am having an issue I'm hoping you can help me out. If you can, can you please let me know where I can leave my number so you can call or text me because I am hung up installing crown in my house and need some advice. I'm in South Florida so I can't quite meet up with you somewhere lol. I hope you can help because if anyone can, it would be you. Thank you. Joe

      Because we all know a 3 fingered carpenter. Even one of the Perkins brothers just lost all of his fingers on one hand to a jointer accident. You are lucky until the day you are not.

    What adhesive do you use?

    • @atanner4
      @atanner4 4 года назад +1

      Are you just shooting nails through the board into the drywall? Studs obvious go straight up and down. Does this matter or is only the adhesive needed?
