The price is average at best in my opinion, Acer Aspire 5 with Ryzen 3500u, 16GB RAM, 512GB m2 ssd and much better battery, was on sale around christmas for 470 euros
@@ChristianNorge yeah bro, if you want a lot of upgradeable laptop go for the acer. I think personally huawei design look neater and cleaner than the acer one. But no hate both are good driver. Im considering both as a student on a tight budget!
Just got this laptop and I'm so happy with it. The screen is more than good enough for daily tasks and light gaming like wow classic etc. It's pretty silent all the time and for me I can't really find anything negative to point out. For 550$ this was a chocking good deal! :)
Got one last week and love it. Boots up in about 8 seconds, the fingerprint reader/on switch works perfectly. I use it all the time, Netflix and such stream flawlessly. The screen isn't as bright as some, it is blue light filtered though. Battery life about 5 to 6 hours on average. It's not really a gaming machine but it can handle most on lower settings. The camera thing is a little weird but thats ok. The machine has stayed nice and cool in all usage situations and it looks nice. Honestly, the D15 has some quirks, but if you can get over them it's a great all purpose laptop for the money.
I'm running Warframe at 1080p Medium settings with no lag. I would say it is very impressive. The performance between Ryzen 5 and 7 isn't much different except for the temperature management.
I've got one of these, I'm very happy with it, it's smart, fast, well made, and works just fine as my everyday laptop. My only niggle with is the mouse touchpad, which I find to be overly sensitive, or sometimes just doesn't react at all. I use my Matebook to play online poker, and several times the touchpad just didn't react, or locked up, and I missed a crucial play. I solved this by buying a wireless mouse and a rigid mousemat, which works just fine. I've bought a larger ssd drive for it, which was a painless process to swap out using Macrium Reflect. All good, I recommend it.
Just bought mine yesterday, it's sold out everywhere. The store I went to said that it's the last piece. The look is really nice. Camera & Battery not so good.

I'm a student in high school and we all know laptop requirements for students isn't that demanding. Thus, overall I did decide to buy this laptop and I have to say, I really do recommend it for students that need a good laptop to get them through their classes, and most might think the camera being put on the keyboard may be weird but I do feel like it has its' benefits , especially for people like me who put scotch tape on their cameras 😅
The Hauwei matebook is one of the best purchases I've made. I know people were saying the battery isn't that great but I'm a student whose on my laptop constantly, and it lasts a good day and a half or 2 days. Everything about the laptop is great! 💜
I bought one yesterday. I was amazed by the specs. Because in my country there are only laptops with i5 10th gen and Intel HD, 4GB RAM are available and when I saw this D15 model I bought without even thinking anything. Now after watching this review I feel that I made the right decision.

I just bought one with a Ryzen 7 processor. Wonderful machine! Great design and a large trackpad. Yes, the screen lacks a little brightness, but not that bad. It makes it easier on the eyes. With a right click on the desktop you can adjust the color temp of the screen. A nice little touch to quickly match your monitor to the room’s lighting. I consider this money well spent.
I want to buy this because its RM2500 here in Malaysia. Comapred to my 2015 Dell that is now fried, costed RM5000 which was insane for a laptop which in my opinion hardly lived up to its ratings. I love Huawei so much! If price is cheap and works beautifully; Ill obviously take it! :D

Great reviews, im owning one and i would like to address its biggest drawback would be the 42wh battery life...its bad for a 15.6 inches laptop lol...mine only last around 4-5 hours watching anime, slightly lagging while gaming but is understandable, keyboard not backlighted nt an issue for me but the feel of pressing it does feel SHALLOW, do try it out to see whether does it suite ur preference :)

I'm rocking the Ryzen 7 model and I would say I'm very happy with it. It runs Warframe with medium setting very well and some other games such as Path of Exile. I paid $700 for it when it was on sales and the device comes with 512GB SSD.

Have a Lenovo 530s. Battery life was 5 hours to start with and after one year it is at 2 hours. And Lenovo says the battery is okay. Lot of features are the same as shown here in matebook. almost all things like the rear cooling vents, speakers and the lid not opening with one hand are similar. Wonder if they are off the same assembly line. Might as well spend some more money and buy MacBook air. Will last way longer and much better experience.
Great review; I'm researching my next machine, which I'll want to do some music production and light editing and storage of photographs, plus usual internet and home office stuff. I was thinking about the MacBook Air, but it seems a bit lightweight for my needs, although I like the i5 / 512Mb SSD option. MacBook Pro, I'm not paying that sort of money for .....

I just hot mine. The last one! It was sold out in most stores, so it's selling like turkeys for thanksgiving! Loving it so far. Great design and I love the webcam mechanism! Only take it out when I need it.

I've got the D14 and I have to say it's been a great laptotp so far. I've got the high end version with the Intel i7 and 16 gigs of ram. The screen looks very good to me but I'm not a screen and colour professional so it's more than enough for my use (some light gaming, some light photo editing and a lot of youtube/netflix). Battery has been good too although not the best (but the D14 has a bigger battery than the D15). The build quality is strong and looks quite premium, very few flex in the body as well. In terms of thermals, the fan does not kick in if you do just some internet and youtube, but it will as soon as you open an app that's more demanding like photoshop or a game. Then you can definitely hear the fan but it doesn't get too loud or too disturbing. In gaming use, the processor stabilises itself at around 70°C so it never gets too hot which is good but I feel like it definitely could get a bit hotter and give you a higher frequency, but it doesn't. Overall it is a very good PC that I definitely recommend. Just keep in mind that I'm still running the 1909 windows version and I still haven't had the update to the 2004 version and it's been almost a year that this version was released.
14” version has much better battery life and backlit keyboard. One important thing about 15” version, is that you can install additional 2.5” hard/ssd drive into it easily
Bought this 2 weeks ago. Perfect for me switching to a WFH setup. Very fast bootup time and no problems so far. Screen isn’t really an issue once you see the actual thing

I'm a student in high school and we all know laptop requirements for students isn't that demanding. Thus, overall I did decide to buy this laptop and I have to say, I really do recommend it for students that need a good laptop to get them through their classes, and most might think the camera being put on the keyboard may be weird but I do feel like it has its' benefits , especially for people like me who put scotch tape on their cameras 😅

The Hauwei matebook is one of the best purchases I've made. I know people were saying the battery isn't that great but I'm a student whose on my laptop constantly, and it lasts a good day and a half or 2 days.

I just bought one with a Ryzen 7 processor. Wonderful machine! Great design and a large trackpad. Yes, the screen lacks a little brightness, but not that bad. It makes it easier on the eyes. With a right click on the desktop you can adjust the color temp of the screen. A nice little touch to quickly match your monitor to the room’s lighting. I consider this money well spent.

I want to buy this because its RM2500 here in Malaysia. Comapred to my 2015 Dell that is now fried, costed RM5000 which was insane for a laptop which in my opinion hardly lived up to its ratings.

Great reviews, im owning one and i would like to address its biggest drawback would be the 42wh battery life...its bad for a 15.6 inches laptop lol...mine only last around 4-5 hours watching anime, slightly lagging while gaming but is understandable, keyboard not backlighted nt an issue for me but the feel of pressing it does feel SHALLOW, do try it out to see whether does it suite ur preference :)

I'm rocking the Ryzen 7 model and I would say I'm very happy with it. It runs Warframe with medium setting very well and some other games such as Path of Exile. I paid $700 for it when it was on sales and the device comes with 512GB SSD.
What about the future in the trade war with Huawei and US companies? Won't it affect the huawei laptops running windows in the future? Like for now its alright but what about the future?

It is possible editing using sony vegas. But try limiting your video resolution to 1080p. 1080 60fps is fine. But 4k is not fun.

Have a Lenovo 530s. Battery life was 5 hours to start with and after one year it is at 2 hours. And Lenovo says the battery is okay. Lot of features are the same as shown here in matebook. almost all things like the rear cooling vents, speakers and the lid not opening with one hand are similar. Wonder if they are off the same assembly line. Might as well spend some more money and buy MacBook air. Will last way longer and much better experience.

Not just specs i want to consdier build quality and daily usage.
I've got the D14 and I have to say it's been a great laptotp so far. I've got the high end version with the Intel i7 and 16 gigs of ram. The screen looks very good to me but I'm not a screen and colour professional so it's more than enough for my use (some light gaming, some light photo editing and a lot of youtube/netflix).
Battery has been good too although not the best (but the D14 has a bigger battery than the D15).
The build quality is strong and looks quite premium, very few flex in the body as well.
In terms of thermals, the fan does not kick in if you do just some internet and youtube, but it will as soon as you open an app that's more demanding like photoshop or a game. Then you can definitely hear the fan but it doesn't get too loud or too disturbing.
In gaming use, the processor stabilises itself at around 70°C so it never gets too hot which is good but I feel like it definitely could get a bit hotter and give you a higher frequency, but it doesn't.
Overall it is a very good PC that I definitely recommend. Just keep in mind that I'm still running the 1909 windows version and I still haven't had the update to the 2004 version and it's been almost a year that this version was released.
Would you suggest d14 or d15?

I can´t seem to use the @ key on the keyboard of the Matebook D15 I have tried all buttons plus the 2 key where the @ is but still no joy
Bought the 14 inch version off Currys for £550 with next day delivery with 512gb storage and the ryzen 5 3500u, got a great deal!
14” version has much better battery life and backlit keyboard.
One important thing about 15” version, is that you can install additional 2.5” hard/ssd drive into it easily

Bought this 2 weeks ago. Perfect for me switching to a WFH setup. Very fast bootup time and no problems so far. Screen isn’t really an issue once you see the actual thing

I'm undecided between the inspiron 15 5000 and this MateBook. I'm looking at laptops for video and photo editing and have a budget for around £500-600. I'm part of the Huawei ecosystem and have had the fones for around 4 years and also have a media pad m5....... And that isn't gonna change anytime soon 😊 do you have an honest opinion for me on the 2 that Im torn between?

Can somebody help me with my D14 problem, it's brandnew but I don't know why it keeps heating even i just use words ??/ and even when I'm not using anything it still overheat??? and the fan noise is so loud I can't understand, and also the battery life is just 5 hours? :D it has a 56Wh battery capacity It is supposed to last more than 8 hours ?? what happens? how can I fix this please? :"< I just bought my Matebook D14 for a week
