    VIDEO INTRODUCTION:
    Hi everybody,
Gujarat has been one of the most progressive and developed states of our country, but while most of us only know Gujarat as an economic powerhouse of India, you would be shocked to know that in 2001 the scenario was completely different , Gujarat’s GDP only grew by 1.1 per cent. Its Agricultural growth was just 1 per cent and one third of Gujarat’s villages were facing water scarcity.
Moreover Gujarat was facing an image issue due to the Bhuj earthquake, frequent power outages and the 2002 riots which completely destroyed the investor confidence in that state. Even if investors want to set up a business it would take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.
But in the next 20 years Gujarat focussed on developmental oriented policies and as a result of it today Gujarat is the fourth largest state by GDP in India with massive industrial output accounting for 33% of India’s total exports. The major contributing factor in the turnaround story was the vibrant Gujarat summit.
So in this episode today, let's do a deep dive and try to understand,
What was the economic condition of Gujarat before 2003?
What was the strategy of the government that turned Gujarat into such a prosperous state?
What was so special about this Vibrant Gujarat summit?
What are the lessons that other states of India need to learn from the rise of Gujarat??

Being in Maharashtra, we used to see often powercut, water problem which was not the case at the other side of railway station. Also, the petrol price in Gujarat is less than Maharashtra so we go to Gujarat for fuel 😅

Gujarat model is shit and is being artificially inflated right now due to excessive funds/investments sent from central govt (650% more when compared to any other state)and watch when the next non Gujarati prime Minister comes to power it will implode/stall and collapse in some part. Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are two states who even without massive funding from govt, keep destroying economic milestone after milestone. Comparing both of those Tamil Nadu Human development index is substantially higher which is why at the moment and for some years now all the South Indian states have been modelling a Tamil Nadu economic model in order to grow and provide benefits equally to the people. This is something a lot of North Indian states don’t understand and this is why Madhya and other North Indian states that have been trying Gujarat model have been failing so hard.

People need to let of caste identities and muslims (a good percentage of population there) will need to work for the development of state. It is up to people to not give into the freebies culture and have faith in the process, as you rightly said it will take at least another 12-13 years to reflect. The concern though is that BJP does not seem to nurture another leader like Yogi there which might lead to a vacuum in political sphere if at all he is given a bigger role in center after some years.

Gov has literally turned AAPDA in AVSAR. firstly providing basic needs of water, electricity, etc then tourism, ports gave us a boost to progress culturally & economically. Kudos and respect!

I still remember the suffering from godhra train attack, or akshardham attack or the agitation caused by other people. I love that the people of this land are so much self sufficient. They dont wait for any one they work by themselves. Eg. Traders travelling to africa centuaries ago or getting into the diamond polishing business. They never ever waited for anyone but took the action themselves. I remember that my city surat was flooded and water started subsiding down on 13-14 of month and the traders openend their stores by 15th of the month. I also thank @ThinkSchool for enlightening what’s happening in Gujarat. ( Don’t judge me if I say this, I feel sad for it too) I was previously thinking that it’s always a clash btw the religions and one oppressing the other.. the riots.. and even if this all happening Why people in Gujarat always make BJP as their Political party as ruling party. Now I’m in no confusion in it. Even if I was in Gujarat I would also do vote for them.. When it helps a lot people and bring prosperity for the country everyone should bring hands together and welcome the changes.

      Don’t worry too much Gourab!
Nano Car itself didn’t sell that much and was a disappointment overall from the customer as well as TATA’s perspective. It is becoming clear that public transport is the only way to plan for dense urban areas of India. Even if every Indian family had purchased a Nano, we would have choked roads and much more terrible air pollution.
In India we say Namaste which means “I bow to the divine in you”. Somewhere Nano was delayed by protesters in WB, and then after being manufactured in Gujarat was rejected by would be consumers. So your sadness is mistaken.
End of the day everything is maya.
The current financial system makes central banks take unsustainable debt. But where does it ultimately lead to? Free markets are free in name only. Those with early information, large capital and large amount of time to stay invested make outsized profits. So we keep voting thinking economy is growing, roads are being built and so on… but most graduates can’t find jobs, aren’t skilled enough and many will move to foreign countries at a drop of a hat for more money and better life experience.
Ultimately even I was swayed heavily by Ratan Tata’s words about Modi.
What I failed to understand was that BJP and RSS have a very careless attitude towards truthfulness and religious tolerance. They want to stay in power by inciting religious riots and will not take responsibility for large scale failures at all. Demonetisation was a national level money laundering operation by BJP/RSS. Pin drop silence by the media on what exactly happened by the political parties and bank officials. These are permanent disqualification events for politicians like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Even the NSA should face consequences. They have no respect for the Constitution and hence they continue to lie and try to cling to power. They take religion and twist it to their advantage.
All this material development is inferior in nature and cannot be seen to eclipse the spiritual demands of India’s dharma. Material nature being inferior to spiritual is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita by Lord Krishna. So ultimately, hook or by crook methods don’t give lasting results. Thus unfortunately much of this jubilation of progress and GDP growth at the cost of not making slow but dharmic decisions will see reversals.
These are the real issues in the country:
      1. Joblessness due to AI and automation.
      2. Use of religious bigotry to win elections.
      3. Climate change, CO2 emissions, air pollution, water scarcity.
      4. Flawed financial systems that only enrich the rich and makes the majority poorer through inflation. Cryptocurrencies are not a solution either.
      5. Lack of accountability and truthfulness amongst people because everyone thinks YOLO, but we have clear evidence of reincarnation in Indian religions.
Few more but these are the main issues. None of them are being addressed by BJP, rather they are the culprits in several of them.

You know what, Kerala had highest literacy, human development index etc etc BUT, Kerala Sends it's "Educated" labour to work as CONSTRUCTION workers living with humiliation in the Gulf😂😂😂😂, Meanwhile, Gujarat Which developed CAPITALIST Orientated Massive Industrialization abd Manufacturing, with Booming Economy is not only providing jobs for gujaratis,But also for millions of Bengalis and Hindi Speakers(no disrespect) As a Citizen of highly unequal Hyderabad,I want Gujarat Model of Massive Indutrialization implemented across all of India to make India a Global Superpower just like China did this century ,US did in 20th century and Britain in 19th Century just like Gujarat under Modi

Human development Index matters a lot. Do not underestimate its importance. Kerala has done a great job there . Other states would do well to learn from there. No use being jealous about it. Also, Kerala’s educated are not all working on construction work. There make up a good part of the white collar jobs. Also quality construction work these days need educated workers. Nothing to be ashamed about.

Its the people of Gujarat that are so resilient, they are most adaptable to any situation and recover form it quickly. and with the vision of CM Modi has brought this change in the Gujarat. Gujarat had faced many challenges in the 1st decade of the century but they overcame those challenges. Govt need to find that spirit in the people of India and we will be in the front.

I am a Gujju from a small town near Mumbai. I was barely a teen when Modi came in power. I used to be very interested in politics and business so I have seen first hand the growth and prospects that came into my small town as well. Not only Ahmedabad(the clothing hub) or Surat(the diamond City or clothing city), Vadodara(the service hub) but all around Gujarat the development is immense.
As a kid when I visited Jamnagar, Rajkot, Somnath, Dwarika, Virpur, Salangpur, Gir forest etc there was not much but a small road leading to these places. Today if you visit any city, village or town there are proper roads and connectivity. Due to that the businesses have flourished and even a farmer has grown. In true meaning we were led to 'Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat ' - meaning, 'praise to the glory of Gujarat'
I turned 18 in 2006 and since then my sole vote has always been to the BJP government. We stand with, 'Sabka sath, sabka vikas'.

Gujarati from Baroda leaving in Bangalore Karnataka from last 5 years.
    Let me share few thoughts.
    Good points about Gujarat
    1) Good road infrastructure and less traffic reaching point A to B is quite easy as many different routes are available.
    2) Go on road trip you will easily get hotels and restaurants with all indian cuisines.
    3) Paradise for businesses
    4) No powercuts and no water bills
    5) many tier 1 and 2 cities
    Good points for Karnataka
    1) Easy to get into a job with High salary same thing is not possible in Gujarat.
    2) Electricity is quite cheap as compared to Gujarat same goes for real estate. Even in banglore you can find affordable housing.
    3) government health care is really good and doctors are not money oriented.
Karnataka is more focusing on banglore other parts feels underdeveloped. Banglore has a really big traffic issue that u cant just ignore. Frequent power cuts is another thing u can't ignore. Bad roads yet highest road tax.
The salaries you get in Gujarat for the same amount of experience is really less considering the real estate prices. Public health sector is not good when u compare it with Karnataka but there trust facilities which is by far the best u will get to compansate that.
I Really hope one day all states accept the diversity we are blessed with and learn from each other to make a better india.

I am from Saurashtra, Gujarat born in 1985. I have seen power cuts at both home and farmland during my childhood days. We not only faced the water scarcity but also pathetic roads and shaddy transportation. Then came our visionary leader Mr. MODI who brought in paradigm shift in governance and ensured necessary amenties and improved our ease of living. I keep travelling between India and the USA and i proudly say that i feel much safer and prosperous in Gujarat. I have specially gone to Saurashtra to cast my vote for Modiji during Lokshabha election and i will continue to do so because he brought smile on million faces. MODI SARKAR TISRI BAAR. Jay Hind!
