    Honestly the end result doesn't look very textured at all. Just a matt taupe. There was alot more texture before the second coat. Im not sure if it really is just the camera or not but I think I would deff want more texture.

    Thank you so much for the info!! I’m on the fence about using a limewash paint in my bathroom. I love how it feels so cozy. I’m not sure if it’s too much though.. maybe I’ll try it in my bedroom? Idk

    The “mix with water” suggestion will hopefully be the trick to getting this look. I didn’t dilute my 2nd coat of paint and the paint was too thick, which made it harder to spread it out evenly. I could see the brush strokes after it dried. So I tried a 3rd coat during which I wet the dried paint edges on the wall hoping it would blend the paint in when I join two sections in. That only helped a bit. Then I went for a 4th coat wetting the entire wall section by section and painting. That definitely helped move the paint on the walls easily, but it still didn’t look perfect like your wall. So diluting the paint might do the trick. I am sick and tired of painting, but will try one last time with this trick and see if it helps. Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞. Thank you so much for the tip!

    Thanks for the video. Can I get your opinion on the matte sealers? Pros and cons? I hung a piece of drywall in my basement for practice. I like the results but when I look at the product at an angle I see the brush strokes and they have a chalky finish that Im not crazy about. But when I apply the matte sealer it does tone down chalky finish but I think it also changes the character a bit but not in a good way. Any thoughts?

      I used the color 114 from the company JH Wall Paints. They have so many different and beautiful lime wash paints. On their site they also have tons of inspo with exactly what they used to achieve each look which is super helpful when deciding colors :)

    So are you supposed to mix with water

    • @TheCraftyGalCarla
      @TheCraftyGalCarla  Год назад +1

      For the first coat I did not mix with water, so used the full paint straight onto the wall. For the second coat I did use water, I used 1/2 paint and 1/2 water. I hope this helps ❤️ This worked great for me for the specific brand of paint that I used. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions at all 🥰

    I bought the lime wash from the same company but chose 500 color and I was following the steps from their website and I didn't obtain the lime wash effect and I know why, cuz in their tutorial says to use roller for first coat and that was a mistake cuz the paint after dry came up like one solid color without dimensions. I spoke with technical support from the website how to fix it but still the effect of lime wash is very minimal almost invisible. I hope when I will be painting the hallway and I will use your technique I will get the desire effect

    • @TheCraftyGalCarla
      @TheCraftyGalCarla  Год назад +3

      After looking at tons of video of how to apply it on their website I decided to not roll it on for the first coat because I had a fear that the limewash affect wouldn’t show as much with the roller and I wanted to get as much of that lime wash affect as possible so I totally understand where you’re coming from! So sorry it didn’t come out the way it was supposed to 😢 Overall I noticed that most limewash companies recommend using the brush for application ok both costs because the brush does give it a lot of that affect. Also, did you use 50% water for your second coat? That is a very important component to getting that limewash affect as well. The next time I do limewash I would actually like to test out using water in both coats to maximize the lime wash affect! I haven’t tried that yet but would definitely like to for my next project :)

    Hi! Where your walls textured??

    • @TheCraftyGalCarla
      @TheCraftyGalCarla  Год назад

      The walls were not textured at all. The texture you see in the end is the visual texture that the Limewash paint gives :) This was a basic drywall that I painted on top of.

    Hi, why did you have to prime twice? Couldn't you just use mineral prime only? It looks great!

    • @TheCraftyGalCarla
      @TheCraftyGalCarla  Год назад +1

      So the mineral prime is meant specifically for the Limewash paint. The mineral prime does not hide or conceal any marks or patched up holes you may have on the wall prior. The stain-blocking primer I put before was meant to give me a perfect surface to start with. For example, in my case we had some previous patches on the walls and some ugly marks that could show through the Limewash paint in the end. So if you have a perfect wall that has never been painted before you can totally skip the Stain-Blocking primer. I hope this helps! :)
