My father, back when he was alive, had a CHRIS CRAFT. He bought it back in the early 50's. It was 22 foot long, and it had a 6 cylinder grey marine engine with twin up draft carbs. As a young kid, I thought I was the luckiest kid in our neighborhood. RIP

Chris craft was a very popular brand of boat in the area where I grew up. Many of the ones I saw were the GREW Chris Craft. SO maybe you can tell me when they decided to drop the Grew part and went solely with Chris Craft?

You all should see the Casino owner, Harrah''s 65 foot Chris Craft Yacht, I was out skiing, behind my Ski Nautique, one Sunday morning on Emerald Bay and this huge Beautiful boat made it's way in to the bay, and it was a sight to see ! That was way back in 1976 so I have no idea what the boat looks like today.

Some nearly 50 years ago a one of a kind Chris Craft was made in the great Lakes. It was being shipped by water, but ran aground near Alpena, Michigan on its way to the mouth of the St Lawrence Sea way to be shipped to a oil magnate by freighter. Cant remember but i think it was 80 feet, and barely fit in the harbor. Had twin "V"-16 diesels. My dad replaced the bent twin screws(diving).

Respirators for the glass and resin crews might be beneficial...Just a thought.

OSHA would specify it if they felt respirators were necessary.

Saying that fiberglass is more durable than wood is misleading considering that wooden boats are built with several layers of fiberglass covering all the wooden surfaces.

But who would they employ who still have the skills to make them in an economic manner? Those days are long gone.

"fibreglass gives you shapes you can't get with wood"... you want to rethink that statement ?
What did boat builders use before fibreglass was invented...plastic cutlery ??? They used WOOD !!!

Yes, and as the video also states, fiberglas is lighter than wood, and it does not rot. You might want to rethink YOUR statement.
