Not auto tune. A mic effect. This dark opening sets the tone of the song, a woman scorned by her boyfriend, a guy that "played" her heart. She's ticked off and the lyrics reveal that quite clearly. The tech effect on the mic is KZ's creative way of drawing in the audience with an unexpected creative flair. After the opening there is no tech on he mic. Just her voice. She's a different kind of vocalist-performer. Some reactors aren't used to her style and creative bend. Glad you got on board for the most part once she got into the main performance. Thank you, MrLboyd. Bravo.
Yes Sir :She is Amazing Incredible very Unique,, gifted and Beautiful She is from the Philippines She is the Champion of the Philippines Got Talent Year -2018 first Season Yes She is a Rapper too
We from Asia do not understand the flak that autotune gets from the West. But it's good to see there's a good number who kept an open mind for the creative process in this performance. KZ is not only a singer, she's a legit artist. She's given us a total performance here, really, almost theatrical. Her cover for this song, has so many layers: interpretation (visual, audio) of the story in the song, melodic changes, vocal style, and stage presence. All creative choices in this performance, I strongly beleive, were deliberate/intentional. The transition from the acoustic electric guitar to the vocal plus the autotune is meant to surprise/confuse. Like a great romance that suddenly failed. The robotic sound communicates manipulation/betrayal. KZ is in a dark place (dark stage). She's sad and defeated (look at her facial expression). She wants to break free from this bubble of betrayal (her hand gesture towards the end of the autorune vocals). She steps back, refuses to stay in the dark. She belts out a long note in the end of the vocals with the autotune. She breaks herself free (the camera moves and rolled literally as if telling us she rolled baxk from darkness into the light). The dark stage is now filled with streaks of light. She's free, no longer sad and defeated. But she's angry (red stage light says so) because something beautiful is put to waste. Nope, I'm not going too far. Anyone who reads this and watches this performance again will see. The autotune wasn't a whim. It was a deliberate creative choice. It takes a technical vocal skill to sing in autotune in a live performance specially when KZ knows exactly the feeling she wants to communicate with her audience (see her facial expression in the autotune part). KZ as an artist has taken the extra mile to make a difference in her craft for the world to enjoy. Like any art form, not everyone would understand. My two cents.
Hello this girl is fantastic amazing very energetic style Spanish rumba she is rapping she is feeling very well voice so many register I love very much thank you good day all people kiss and love all people peace
Wow , , KZ TANDINGAN Yes it's a unique performance Amazing stunning, and She very talented cuz the arrangement of the song is very good than the original. She is a Filipina and She speaks fluent English
Many others are suggesting more songs from her Singer 18 performances, but I highly recommend you go back to her audition for Philippines X Factor show when she was getting her first true exposure . . . simple, humble, but you'll see where she comes from . . . and I know you'll enjoy her even more. Thank you!
Lets go!! Keep diggin the Filipino Music Scene. You'll be just as amazed if not more.. KZ got eliminated in this competition but Jessie J chose her to be a part of her final performance.. EZ mil wants to have a collab with this artist...
Hello Sir😉 Please Kindly React To KZ TANDIGAN Singing SEE YOU AGAIN And SAY SOMETHING.. THANKS FOR THE GOOD REACTION 😘 MORE POWER 🙏GOD BLESS YOU MORE 🙏 KEEP SAFE 💕
Its not AUTO TUNE, thats her real voice. You have to realize she has been invited to perform in this country because of her unique talent and they will NEVER allow auto tune in this show. She is called human trumpet in my country, Philippines.
You can just go thru all her performances on the Singer 2018 and you will not be disappointed... then you’ll get many more recommendations for her original music and other covers and unique performances.
KZ was all out in this game against Jesse J. Love her unique, artistry arrangements @ cover to this song. N to watch your reaction here is priceless. Thanks.
KZ IS YOUR DEFINITION OF AN ARTIST. Please react to her cover: -See You Again -Doo Woops -Close to You -Her Xfactor audition - Royals from Wish Bus. -Feeling Good She have original songs but for now, enjoy her performances.
Love the reaction & the detailed review at the end ❤❤❤ May I please request for a reaction of her duet cover (with Philippine's Queen of Soul - Jaya - who's also half-Jamaican) of a Nina Simone's original, "Feeling Good"? Please please please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Surprised eh? Even her use of " auto tune" which had been stereotyped, was not for improving her voice. Al her covers are far greater than the originals. There's yet so much to learn which she is trying to prove.
It's a singing competition. KZ needed the producer's approval of hard pitch correction for the intro only, as an effect and not a vocal aid. The Auto-Tune was fully removed after the intro, not at the rap... An "artistic choice" that I could have done without, but I'm at a desk and she's on stage, so... ;-)
Please react to KZ's performance of Say Something from the same show, it is an exceptional rendition and so beautifully delivered. She is truly talented.
Auto tune yes, It was an artistic choice. KZ is not only a singer, she's an artist. Her rendition of rolling in the deep in this instance is almost theatrical. Here's my take on her performance which I believe has several creative layers: interpretation of the story in the song, melodic changes, vocal style, and stage presence. I want to share what I feel about how KZ interpreted the story. The creative decision to start with an acoustic guitar and then the utilization of the auto tune is pure genius. The guitar implies romance that rolled into some sort of a bubble as soon as KZ begin singing with the auto tune. The transition is confusing- acoustic to auto tune - exactly what KZ wants to evoke (what happened after she gave her all in love?). The robotic sound effected by the auto tune is a reference for manipulation as KZ (who feels treated like a robot) sings "you played it... you played..." while standing still in that dark stage, her facial expression is sad and defeated. She wanted to break away from this unfortunate state. When KZ belts out a sustained note with the auto tune, that signals breaking away from the dark - she pushed it away (see her hand gesture before the sustained belt). The camera moved and rolled (underline rolled). The stage is now filled with streaks of light. She's free! She's no longer sad. But she's angry because something beautiful is all put to waste. It takes a technical vocal skill to utilize an auto tune in a live performance especially when KZ is clear what feeling she wants to communicate with her audience. KZ "owned" this song right in the very beginning. The rap is just a bonus. My two cents.
From the same competition, check out the performances of British singer, Jessie J, who won the competition. My Heart Will Go On, Purple Rain and Domino are good ones to check out. KZ was overwhelmed by meeting Jessie and bawled uncontrollably for minutes on end, but then beat her in the first episode in which she sang. Because of some medical problem she had, she cannot do high notes above a C, but this seems to have encouraged her to be more inventive with what she has - if only more would take their lead from her! Anyway, Jessie was very motherly and kind to KZ during the competition, having known medical challenges herself. Nice lady, really good, classy singer.
Not one reaction video understood the concept of KZ's arrangement. The auto tone was there only because it was part of the surprise. That she was taking the song somewhere no one has heard before. I think the Wishbus performance also added another unusual vocal effect, just for her to stress the point: "I am deconstructing this song, whether you like it or not." She knows people will criticize the auto tone, and she will be winking at everyone for not getting its placement in the song. She's beyond anyone's comprehension.
Please react to KZ TANDINGAN cover CLOSE TO YOU( by The Carpenters) she will take you by surprise what she is able to do during the performance, If you love Jazz, you have to check out?! Thanks if you will, you gonna like it!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🇵🇭
I never saw it, but supposedly Adele posted her thoughts about KZ's version of Rolling In The Deep on her Facebook account shortly after this performance and then removed it the next day. I don't know if she liked it or hated it.
You need to hear her sing this live in the air in the Wishbus with a rhythm guitar and drummer. No autotune , no reverb, or any of that techno crap. If a local singer gets caught using autotune in the Philippines, their singing days go straight into the toilet.
😅 I had a smile on my face watching your face throughout all this.😁 THANKS SO MUCH for all three😇 Till the next... Btw, missed you yesterday. Hope all ok..
Auto tune ? No, indeed. This is LIVE COMPETITION PERFORMANCE & NOT allowed, period. She does her own ARRANGEMENT. She rapped so FAST that I, Filipino myself could hardly cope up. CAPTIVATING. She sings through her SOUL .She OWNED the stage. She's SASSY. VERSATILE PERFORMER. MULTI TALENTED. PLAYED MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS as well. GOD BLESS!
Bro you need to do the Jessie J renditions on Singer 2018 as well - she covered big hits in a similar fashion, they were in the same season of the contest.
She lost an earring near the end of the performance and picked it up during the song! All her Singer 2018 songs are worth a reaction, but I was particularly impressed with The Hurt You'll Never Know sung in Mandarin (I think). You can go back to her audition for X Factor and be thoroughly impressed. The judges certainly were (and best audience "home field advantage" ever!). On Wish, I really like "Imposible" and the Lauren Hill styled "That Thing/Can't Take My Eyes Off You" medley. She's as distinctive as they come.
Hi! Can you also react to SB19? They are from the Philippines. They are the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to be nominated on BBMA. They just uploaded their latest MV entitled WHAT❓ last March. the leader wrote, compose and co-produce the song. the youngest is the creative director and the Main Vocalist choreographed the song too :) Fun fact: according to a friend of the production they have limited budget for this MV. The production is All Filipino. The scene on desert is actually Lahar , volcanic mudflow and not sand. All of it was shot Here in the Philippines. If you want to know their vocal skills try watchinng their Live performance of their ballad Song Tilaluha on TM Pusuan

the effect is a vocoder. it does not affect the pitch of the voice, but gives it a digital effect.
