I know this game is meant to be hard so any exploit is welcome, but there's a point where you're no longer fighting and just start up cheesing a fight. This was hard to watch, and is harder to see it has that many views.

I love how the sword saint has attacks that are reminiscent of other bosses in the game for example: Corrupted monk’s retreating slash, snake eye’s gunfire, seven spear’s spear thrust and swipe, Genichiro’s lightning and divine dragon’s air blade slash, owl’s ground slam. This boss truly checks your skills.

What I love the most about this fight is how, in the end, Isshin had everything he wanted.
He wanted to fight Sekiro to have an honorable duel with him, but he also didn't like Genichiro's idea of using Kuro's blood to restore Ashina's glory.
So in the end, he had the duel of his lifetime with Sekiro and Genichiro's plan failed, as he hoped.

I mean, you can deflect bullets and have a prosthesis that can turn into an axe, a spear, throw shuriken, breath fire, throw pellets and become an umbrella that can deflect everything XD
True, Isshin's one regret was that he did not live to be bested by a greater foe. Whereas in the Shura ending, Isshin dies without hope, unable to defeat Wolf, in the other endings he gets to die with honor and take pride in being bested in combat by Wolf. It's a good ending for him, even though his clan came to ruin.

Like damn, that's why there was multiple of these weird little holes in the corpses no one could explain, this whole time you was shooting mofos and no one survived to tell that this whole time you was shooting mofos, putting caps in asses playing dirty smh lmao. Opponent stands with a sword like lets test the legendary swordsman then runs towards him, and the legendary swordsman just laughs with his sword then pulls out a long ass spear that controls lightning and a freaking gun and shoots him dead in the face lol.
Isshin is rocking the quality build + faith, double-wielding his main weaponry and have his sidearm ready to be swapped. Also he has the infinite stamina hax.
Isshin is now ready for PvP.
Now that's an NPC that can show off real nice.
Well, his stamina is not infinite. If one parries everything and keeps up with the offence he'll run out. Takes a lot of practice though.

this is the only boss where i didnt deflect (much) or mikiri counter, mostly because i just had such a hard time gauging his attacks, so i pretty much just did what this guy did, which was boring as hell but i just wanted to finish the game. Lol

Genichiro is an awesome evenly matched fight, high speed fight.
Lady Butterfly is an awesome deflect/counter/pressure pressure fight.
Phase 1 of Ishin is an awesome bossgfight - but phase 2 & 3 are. just. not.
And by the time I get there, that 2&3 are readable to where I feel competent deflecting everything, Genichiro has more new neck-holes than he has intact skin left and all fun has exited the game. Which is exactly what happened in the video - Genichiro and phase 1 were over in like less than 2 minutes each by playing it the 'Sekiro' way, but fuck the phases after that.
If Ishin wants to pull out some long range attacks, AoE and projectile spam like a Dark Souls boss, he better be prepared to go down like one.
@@Sareth94 yeah he does pull some bs out of nowhere and like you said, genichiro and isshin's first phase didn't even matter after a while. But phase 2 and 3 were very exciting as you can see him getting tools he didn't have previously which gives you a sense that he is not exactly human anymore and gives you a sense of duty to defeat him, to save Japan. And the fact that everything you have done has lead to this moment makes you wanna fight the boss the "Sekiro" way as then it would be a strong way of showing that you have bested the game and have overcome it. Then again, everyone has their own opinion and I'm not going to criticize your preferences, your experience with Sekiro is probably very different from mine.

He was just running around in the late stages like a fool. I fought Lady Butterfly in similar manner but that was a tutorial boss at least. Fighting final boss like this is just pathetic

Combat sucks when the player refuses to learn how to counter moves head on.

The detail where Sekiro super quickly and fluidly draws his sword is awesome when you remember him fumbling for it at the beginning, as well as Kuro being the one to stop you instead of the other way around.

I beat this guy 3 times. First time I did it my hands were shaking and my heart was pounding hard. This guy is truly the Epitome of this game and is currently my favorite boss fight of all time.

Isshin's happiness and excitement throughout this fight always get me.
He has finally met an equal, and that means he finally has no reason to hold back.
I think another thing that sets Sekiro apart from its Soulsborne cousins is his speed. You're usually weighed down by your European armor, but Sekiro can jump and run like a bat out of hell.
Bloodbourne doesn't have heavy armor though. Sekiro is certainly faster paced, but the idea that Japanese armor or swords are lighter is weird. Steel is very dense, and katanas and longswords are actually similar weight. Sekiro is simply wearing less armor.
so can all the enemies. Literally you could prob beat the crap out of somebody like kos without trouble with these game mechanics
@@SeismicHammer if we use game logic, in dark souls we carry very heavy equipment that slow us down, but in sekiro we are basically amorless
@@SeismicHammer i think its more of the design of the blade that contributes to its cumbersomeness. Katanas were curved and thinned out to allow quick and fluid cuts with near precise slicing while Western swords are straight and very heavy in certain areas that they have to be wielded in a way that uses the weight to help cut the opponent down.
@@tangytablets5150 It's partly to do with role. Katana were originally cavalry swords, so they are designed for slashing, whereas longswords were infantry weapons. European sabers were also curved for similar reasons. Regardless, both were about 3 feet long and of similar width, so they weighed about the same. A curve would not greatly affect weight balance.

Wolf gives both tear and everblossum to kuro. Healing kuro and ending his ability to give immortality to anyone. Wolf kills himself; effectively killing the last immortal. Leaving kuro a mortal life to live.

You can't do backstab in this game apart from the first stealth hit. There is a skill that allow you to do backstab mid-fight but you still need to break the enemy posture first so it would be useless in a boss fight anyway.

In case viewers didn’t notice, the player or ‘Boss Fight Database’ had to restart the battle sometime at 6:49-6:50 because Isshin’s health went back up a little bit after the player resurrected (as Isshin doesn’t recover health during combat), and the following footage was that of a second attempt. Just something I noticed while watching, but I’m not surprised since ‘Isshin the Sword Saint’ is Sekiro’s toughest boss.

@@enjoyer2227 That was something I noticed about this game, the bosses are hard to fight when you try to cheese or do hit and run tactics. When we stay our ground and fight it out, its much easier than we thought. Great shinobi owl is my favorite boss now.
This game, is truly amazing. I love this ending can't wait to play through and get it. History repeats itself, and wolf becoming a sculptor just hit home for me.
this is the second worst ending. sekiro ends up alone. eteranally atoning for his sins, like sekijo.
Took me 5 and a half minutes to beat this monster when I finally beat him. Posture break route is a lot faster and holy hell, it’s so immersive. It’s exactly what I was wanting the final fight to be. A one on one that truly tests your skills in every single area of the game. You basically feel every single clash. I’ve never experienced a boss on this level and I don’t think I ever will again. This truly felt like the final test in a long ass journey, and when you ace it it’s the best feeling that a game can give you. Killing Owl made me tear up and get emotional, this fight pushed me to my limits. It took me many tries. I had to grind this for about 10 hours, between the fight and farming candy/spirit emblems. This is, without a doubt in my mind, the best final boss I’ve ever seen and/or played in a video game. It may sound silly to people that haven’t played the game yet, but this fight literally humbled me. The biggest hurdle I’ve ever had to jump over in a video game left me humble and speechless.
Havel moves to Japan, fights Japanese warriors, literally can't see them they're moving so fast, but can feel pinpricks of swords, goes back to dragons.
Remember that poise doesn't exist in ds3

The final execution move is pretty sweet. Swordlocks him, gets his head under Isshin's arm and uses his whole body to shove it upward to break his guard and get a shot at his belly.
Such a top notch fight. If you played Sekiro upto here, the way the developers wanted you to. The fight is so deeply satisfying. It is the duel of a decade. Took me 8 tries to kill him, but every second our swords clashed, I loved it.

@@theguardianwolf7206 I don't think that's true. The Sculptor says he got his arm cut off by Isshin for becoming Shura. Not only is yours cut off by Genichiro, but you fight the Sculptor at the end, although its optional. You can get the Shura ending by siding with the Owl. It's more like a thematic cycle, I guess.

Wolf replaces the sculptor.
From likes to make the whole story of the game in a never ending cycle, that’s so when the next new game + happens in can naturally blend well in the other playthroughs.
I just caught that, on the final attack, Genichiro is able to push the blade away from his heart and into his shoulder to avoid it being a fatal blow. That way he can still kill himself with the blade to bring back Isshin.
So he gets .a devil breaker at the end?

He's really not as bad as everyone made him out to be. Cheesing just makes this more tedious. Just learn his attacks and mikri counter those thrusts as often as possible. Amazing boss fight! You feel a million times better beating him head on as well.
Without a doubt using mikiri counter and parrying would have helped so much in this fight. Just watching him run around the boss in phases 2 and 3 hurt so much. Granted, I got hurt really bad in those phases when I did it, but I ended phase 2 in under 2 minutes by countering, and the 3rd in under a minute using lightning reversals.
That was one of the most cowardly fought Isshin victories I have seen...Parry dude....this is barely watchable

I'm still confused about something: where did Genichiro acquire the second mortal blade? There's only one divine child, and she possessed the crimson blade, so where did Genichiro find the black one? Besides eavesdropping on Isshin when he alludes to a second mortal blade, what mention is there of it? My guess is that Lady Tomoe gave it to Genichiro after she attempted mortal severance with Lord Takeru (and failed) but that's just speculation.
The fact that one of the most brutal bosses in all of Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro is just a man with sword, spear and gun, the only augmentation being his resurrection and a lightning storm happening around them...

sekiro is the most polished from software game gameplay wise from fps to smoothness and controls.
the world and setting is maybe not like yharnam and lordran quality wise but sekiro does many things even better. they all are similar you can tell that sekiro is 100 perc from software.
This was just plain awful to watch. How do people get this far in the game and not learn how to deflect, counter, mikiri, lightning reversal, etc.?
If I get this game, I’m gonna get stuck with the final. That was one of the toughest fight I’ve seen in a game. That was intense. Good play man

And the boss changes his fight pattern every time you face him
So I don't get the ending, is it saying that the same arm has been passed down through generations before? Or is it like a Souls like "cycle" theme that says that the events of Sekiro will repeat again, with you being the sculptor?
The arm likely is something passed down from generation to generation. I mean I highly doubtful it's something they just thought of on the spot, plus this is the LATE Sengoku era. It likely is a "cycle" in the sense that another shinobi will come for Wolf to mentor.

I have a funny feeling its a cycle thing, since the old sculptor isn't there anymore.

I like that small little detail of adding Genichiro fall down in the background while Isshin rises
This game has a lot of those, similarly in the Shura ending you can see, albeit barely, Owl put Genichiro's head down beside Isshin's body
it is evident that the player of this channel play this game like a Souls, instead of playing it in the right way...always dodging and side stepping and almost no parries

damonke79 From made the deflect/attack system for a reason. The whole premise of the game's combat is clashing swords with your opponents. It's the ideal way to play. People like this guy will run around in circles and get 2 hits in wherever there's an opening and then wonder why the fight drags for so long.

A Dark Souls with more modern weapons of Bloodborne but plays like Sekiro.... I'd buy that in a heartbeat...

As much as I love this final boss, I feel like running away and cheesing him takes the fun out of this fight :/
Took me 5 minutes total between Genichiro and Isshin because I actually fought them😂
The actual fight took me 5 minutes as well when I beat him...its all about learning their animations and being focused the entire time...if you let your guard down expecting that you've won when the boss is one shot the there is a good chance that he is gonna kill you

@Joseph Waters There there, rest on it, let your brain work it out, fatigue wont make you better. No shame in looking at guides at this point. Knowing is half the battle.
@Joseph Waters first playthrough is tough but after that I had no problems taking down bosses first try including fights like lady butterfly, genichiro and basically every miniboss. The combat just didn't click with you yet

One thing that I *HATE* about this boss is that you have to fight Genichiro. This wouldn't be a problem of after you kill him, you don't have to fight him a
gain when you die. That's the biggest, harshest, roughest, and cruelest punch in the face I have ever seen! You maybe wondering, "That's not that bad." Well, because the final boss is extremely difficult, you will constantly die and you have to fight Garbichiroge again until you beat the game.

'Why are you running?" Look I get it. That spear makes him the most difficult boss in the game (including DOH imo) but still you gotta get at least semi aggressive.

Lighting reversal really does a number on Isshin, if you manage to get two in, the fight is essentially yours
Much of the battle shown here was slowed down for the casual audience, lest the bullet-like speed of it all becomes lost to the viewer. This is why you can watch the bullets fly slowly.
Now THAT'S a final boss.
This is a five minute fight, its been a year so you probably can by now but please learn to deflect.
