The studio recording of "Butterfly" is my smartphone's ringtone, so I clicked this link with some hesitation. FANTASTIC! Mesmerized by that introduction, I am hooked, line and sinker. She captures the essence of Butterfly in a totally unexpected way. Gorgeous. And the music too.
@@kimscottmusic Thank you Kim ... I am listening again as I am typing this. Herbie and Wayne (RIP) are at the top of my jazz pantheon, and living in Japan for 42 years now, I was not surprised that when Wayne passed away, it made mainstream television news here. I am always glad to see their compositions reinterpreted. Will look for you sometime coming to Japan ... a jazz lover's paradise. Just today, I was grateful and dumbstruck to be standing for about 3 minutes and under a small ceiling speaker in the local supermarket. I could hardly believe my ears ... Oscar Peterson's version of Tom Jobim's "Wave" with that great ascending orchestral string arrangement at the end. But I'm guessing I was the only one in the place who knew what was playing. 😂
I am beyond stunned... A class well above this world in your understanding and speaking of the language. Elegant and gorgeous on all accounts of the performance. May you be blessed with many more 🎶 🙏
Thank you! I’ll be in Philly and DC this year at South Kitchen and Blues Alley. Visit my website for the details under your date. www.kimscottmusic.com
Your tone is beautiful. I have a boss pedal, but have not learned how to use it so creatively. And your sound is so clear it's on another level even without the effects pedal.
WHY IS ONE NECESSARILY BETTER THAN THE OTHER WHICH TO ME IS IMPOSSIBLE .MISS SCOTT IS TRULY A MASTER OF HER INSTRUMENT AND HER RENDITION OF HERBIE HANCOCK'S MASTERPIECE COMPOSITION BUTTERFLY IS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING . WHY MAKE UNNECESSARY COMPARISONS WHEN THERE IS NO COMPARISON .
Beautiful. The butterflies will stop to listen:) Did you listen to the late Swedish flutist: Björn J:son (Jayson) Lindh and his song Bike Voyage II, Världen vänder, Good time Charlie`s got the blues and Västlig bris (playing harmonica)?
@@kimscottmusic ❤ The song Butterfly is beautifully played by you and it made me think of the late Sweede. I would not be surprised if his songwriting is influenced by Earl Klugh. Another European is Dutch jazz /new age flutist Chriz Hinze in Chris Hinze combination who plays in 2 interesting tracks called: African rapness and Awah Awah. Enjoy!
