people only watch shit made by blogging kids with compact cameras then they edit out mistakes making jumpcuts all over.. and they get more views for their lazy ass work because they can make one everyday consistently.. just the way the world is now.. :/ this touching film restores my faith that good filmmakers still out there... your work will be rememebered.
Fabulous Short, good use of a wide variety of cuts (loved the bedroom match cut 04:31), and captured the feeling through both good acting as well as lighting and camera movement. Good work!

dude, i think you did a great job. this honestly took a lot of hard work and it shows. However at 1:21 I noticed you guys didn't add the mop foley or audio. I noticed it right away and I just wanted to mention that. If I honestly had to give my "opinion", I'd say work on more of the sound. Your image and lighting is great. Foley and sound effects even on the tiny details like footsteps or some background noise will really enhance your end product and take it to the next level. And most film makers often neglect this. Keep going though, this story itself is very moving and the music was appropriate. Keep it up guys!

It's a mazing. Lovely story, and well written. Lots of emotional fragmens. Also professional. Footage looks beautiful. Shot on a Sony a7 ii. Never thought it was possible to make a professional film with a camera.👍

This can much better if you put the father taking snaps scene of the performance at the end like a flash back to have more twist and impact and to lessen the predictability of the story but all in all it's great. I felt the emotion of the film. Keep it up!

How did you got into making a movie? Were you already involved with producers, DoP's, Screenwriters or was this a Friends-Project? How did you reach out to actors?
Floyd Cobain my friend was a first time producer on this, securing funding and learning on the job. Think he did great. He knew the DP from a past project, and we met a little before this project. The DP brought most of the crew down to help. I was the screenwriter. As for actors, we used Actor's access (or rather, breakdown services). And also we reached out to one of them who is a youtuber. Hope that helps!

The scene where dad comes to the performance and the audio was intended to be far away, maybe was just a little too far? That was the only thing I could detect. Great job though!
I think it's more a matter of effects on this one. Personally I would've add some echo/reverb, because of the accoustic of that kind of room. Here it looks like the father is in front of the tv.
Great film! How did you manage to get the right codec for your upload? I mean the vp09. usually if you upload things below 4k you get the standard codec which makes the image quality worse when you upload your footage. Help greatly appreciated!

Thats awesome. I a'm rewriting a feature script that is turning out really good. Way better than the first few drafts. I had an idea for a short yesterday. It should be easy to shoot. I may take a brake from the big project to write it. I would like to put the script out for anyone to shoot.
I will shoot the feature when I get it done. I shot a low budget (around 10K) feature in 2015. I think I would like to shoot of few of my shorts before I start on the next feature.
