This is such a great matchup, the two characters are polar opposites and the extremes of their archetypes
But at the same time, both are combo machines which is such a treat
Yeh complete opposites one is an OP AS FK vs bottom champ (sheik) still manage to lose that Way riddles is just an op character taker...
this is some of the best smash ive seen in a while holy shit
how about summit 11
@@magicbread8111 😴😴
I feel like this entire set is the complete epitome of the strengths and weaknesses of both characters to the absolute extreme.
Sheik was completely and utterly dominating Kazuya in neutral and in disadvantage (VoiD admits that he could've pushed edgeguards more), while at the same time she was low-profiling a lot of Kazuya's buttons. It looked like the speedy button jumpy character bullying on Ganondorf as far as that is concerned.
But when Riddles touches him once, he was eating all that percent back.
Sheik's KO'ing issues where also shown, as VoiD was shown multiple times to have a lot of difficulty closing out stocks against a character as heavy as Kazuya, so he was living up to 150+% a lot of the time, which enabled Riddles to get comebacks easier.
It reminds me a lot of the Sheik vs Donkey Kong matchup in SSB4: Sheik dominates DK in advantage and neutral, suffocating him so hard. However, not only Sheik had KO'ing issues in that game as well, but all DK needs is a few grabs to suddenly delete Sheik's stock, especially with rage.
Sheik in general is a very stressful character to play as, especially in Ultimate where she dies to a sneeze.
Ok
Kazuya’s weight really helps a lot in this matchup.
Cool analysis
@@yupitztim1670 bro really gave an in depth explanation for a matchup in smash in a youtube comment lmao. Even the pros don’t have this much to say
@@yupitztim1670 unnecessary
10:54-10:59 riddles channeled his true lv 9 cpu kazuya
10:53-11:00 Riddles is on fire with this Kazuya. Such a satisfying character to watch.
Commentator's Curse, he hit dat Electric.
Simple execution ESAM had on day 3. He also destroyed Riddles Kazuya. It shows these combo's are nothing special, killing from 0 or even just dealing 100+ of one string is just super dumb and OP, nothing else
Was there anything avoid could’ve done to escape that? DI or SDI or anything?
This entire set was absolutely insane, amazing players
Void is amazing, Riddles is carried by zero-to-death cheese. He's not even the best Kaz, ESAM destroyed him in the ditto in a LONG set right after release lmao
What a great set man. Props to both players.
21:35, he even claw grips the microphone. A true master of precision
Lmao I’m gonna paying attention to that more now 😂
The begining of game 1: 0:45-1:06
Void hits riddles 11 times for 70 percent
Riddles then hits void 4 times for 62 percent lmao
Just to put into perspective the giant gap of damage output between these two charcters. No shade either way I love to watch both of these players and their respective mains. Arguably the best set of summit right here.
Cryax vs Ferra/Torr in a nutshell
They both have their strengths and weakness like kazuya is pretty slow and sheik has pretty bad kill power
What's really important is how many resets (opportunities to escape the combo) there were in those strings and how much was guaranteed. Void had 44% guaranteed and about 3-4 resets for the other 36%. Riddles only needed 1 reset after landing his N-air -->EWGF (22%) to get the rest of the 60% so it's much worse than it looks.
One of the best sets of Ult Summit 3 so far
Favorite set of the tournament so far. Damn that was so fun to watch, Void's sets in general have been amazing
Incredible set by void, he’s basically at kill percent right at 7:00. His combos and baits were so clean. WOW
That timestamp showing riddles.
You saying riddles is at kill %? Lmao
@@JDarkAngeI probably means the in-game timer starting at 7 minutes
@@BoltTheEmolga that would make more sense, I mean... Riddles did kill them at 0 which always gets a great commentator reaction
I love to watch VoiD and he's one of the few players that I feel can singularly push the meta of their character but Riddles is showing that he is very much of that same caliber and VoiD felt it this set
Even with Kazuya killing Sheik at zero he couldn't win lol. It's not even close, his characters broken punish game hides how badly he was getting outplayed
Look at this guy complaining about a +2 Matchup for Sheik
Me, a VoiD fan: ooooh nice string!
Riddles: lands a hit.
Me: Oh nooo...
especially if it was an electric wind god fist lol
Four hits equals kill at fifty
Against sheik
10:53 geeeeez the 0 to death perfect execution by riddles omg
As a melee player finally getting into ultimate. I love how VoiD adapted to Riddles air dodging always. He has the sickest waits and then punishes
Riddles finding out that he cant just run up and spam electric every matchup
Two characters on the opposing side of the spectrum, crazy.
Very fun to watch and amazing players.
Literally my heart was pounding at the last match. Great job to both players
Both characters involve so much perfection when executing their combos, is so satisfying to watch hooooly
10:52 peak Kazuya right here, Riddles is insane
the commentators said “OH” 20 times in that sequence LOL
I love watching void. Clean doesn't even begin to describe...
Kazuya at 120 and Sheik at 50 is pretty much an even match lol
That’s kazuya advantage tbh
More like kazuya at 150 and sheik at 50. I was so nervous whenever I saw void at 50 or above cuz I know an EWGF could end him at that percent
@@ethanbusse5723 that’s what I was thinking lol
I mean fighting kaz at any percent is even for him ya know
That Riddles combo at 11:00 was disgusting and hurt the souls of my grandchildren I can’t imagine how void felt
This was a very satisfying set to watch. Well done to both Void and Riddles
Watchin* Riddles’ Kazuya is still a thing to behold. Even when he loses it’s still amazing when you see him do crazy shit with the character.

Riddles holding for that fist bump lasted longer than my last relationship
9:18 - 9:45 Some of the best Sheik I have seen in a long time. That was INCREDIBLY impressive. Surprised no one is pointing out just how insane Void was here
Unfortunately, it's mainly because people are more excited over riddles. I, for one, like void's sheik
There's this myth about FG characters being high skill. Stats about online tourneys show the opposite. Their design is unintuitive for players used to smash but once you learn it, you're essentially playing easy mode because jab now deals 60 damage and kills at 100 or sooner
@@Bladieblah get a fucking hobby dude
@@bobcat_named_bobWhat? I'm just making a comment about how FG characters are perceived, what's your problem?
@@Bladieblah literally no one asked and you’re also wrong
At 6:07 you can notice that when riddles hits the electric the blue di line shows up twice once going right and once going straight up after. Because of the stun on ewgf you can basically switch di multiple times. riddles was never reading di he was looking at the indicator. Whenever the commentators say he second guessed himself its not that its just that he got tricked by void manipulating the di indicator.
I love riddles. He commits to his character and has some of the cleanest execution around
People only see results, never see the work. So they complain about kazuya being broken.
Dude these players have improved so so much since offline, I bet they’re both top 20 at this point
10:48 he literally turned him to a kill in under 10 seconds. Wild
10:53 yo WHAT 😂😂 nah man these top players need to start labbing Kazuya fr this character is serious. He is no gimmick
riddles doesn't even think kazuya's that good.
@@voodooedits785 Riddles said that before the matches and then realized he’s actually good
@@DairInNeutral Oh. my bad. But I think kazuya is barely sitting outside top 20.
@@voodooedits785 cuz you bad lol
Nobody asked lol.
Yo did anyone else see VoiD avoid electric wind god fist at 18:34 by hurtbox shifting with forward tilt to the left ??? Might not have been intentional, like maybe he tried inputing attack cancel bair cause he thought he hit the fair, but if it was intentional that's absolutely nuts
二人ともかっけぇ...
どっちのコンボも見てて気持ちいい!
It’s just whenever Riddles lands his signature electric wind god fist that Sheik takes back all the times she kicked Kazuya
I mean EWGF is a Mishima/Kazuya staple move, it’s literally his most well known move. Can’t really say it’s a “Riddles” signature move.
@@HYLOBRO lol relax he's just saying when riddles lands a egwf it leads to a powerful combo and sheik loses all that hard work.
@@syunafrost351 he said “signature move”? Obviously I know what he was getting at, but my point is still true. It’s not a Riddles signature move. It’s Mishima signature move.
6:25 カズヤのステップ極めたらこんな風になるのねww面白すぎやろww
VoiD is literally the reason I enjoy Ultimate. This set was hype as fuck. David and Goliath doesn't even begin to describe. Majorly entertaining from both sides but watching Sheik maneuver so fluently is actual smash artwork.
God damn this had me hyped from start to finish.
Amazing set from Riddles and VoiD. Kazuya and Sheik are characters that can rack up lots of damage and both have kill confirms at high percent which makes them even scarier.
No, only Kazuya racks up a shit ton of damage with just...3 hits. Sheik needs to play with her soul and body to do just half of what Kazuya does in couple of hits.
@@Yokai_Yuri kazuya plays exactly like his Tekken counterpart lol

10:53 Riddles with the 7 second 0-To Death across the stage
Both players were MOVING 🔥
It must be exhausting to play Sheik at that level
I know very little ab ultimate, i only compete in melee, maybe im not knowledgeable enough to see this on riddles part, but holy shit void is just such an intelligent player, the way he baits his opponents and plays in neutral, his use of crouch and his combo mixups, wonderful set to watch, shiek has to work SO MF hard for anything in this game 😭
Kazuya is the hardest character in this game by far execution wise.
Shiek sure, it's hard to master but once you know that shit, it comes Naturally, so is relatively easy, Kazuya is always hard no matter what.
Edit: Obviously at these level of players everything seems so intense, but what I said still stands
@@idontwant2beasoldiermama241 No he isn't. His inputs are easy muscle memory after an hour or two of practice.
@@vzreo
Lol yeah sure, not even Riddles is using Kazuya at his most potential, the character still has a ton of room, and you're here saying after 1 to 3 hours lmao
I get what you say about Shiek because you're a smash player, but that shit you say, is the basic stuff you need in order to succeed in conventional fighting games, I get it, is hard, but once you master it, it comes naturally.
With Kazuya you have to do that plus all that crazy execution
@@idontwant2beasoldiermama241 Nobody will ever maximize potential, and I assume that was an attempted jab to say I dont play tekken (wrong). Kazuya still not crazy hard to play, sorry TMM.
@@vzreo
I'm not talking just about execution, I'm talking about all the fundamental stuff you have to master in order to be decent at fg, which is stuff most smash players don't know shit about and when they see it implemented, they go crazy.
All I'm saying, is that Kazuya is harder
its amazing how so many of these sets go to game 5s
Void is actually a genius
I’m at the edge of my seat during that last set
Amazing speed of shiek Vs the Terrifying power of Kazuya. Man, This set was really good
Void giving sheik the limelight
Popped of so hard at the end
I feel like riddlea woukd gave benefitted from throwing out kazuyas back tilt to space out with that disjoint to catch Shieks aerials and use his triple.roundhouse to catch shieks spot.dodges as a mix up option.

SUCH a treat to watch riddles kazuya I hope he plays it more he’s so sick
I mean I fucking love sheik too she’s got a nice ass void.
voidのシークかっこ良すぎるだろ
I can't believe Void won! This is probably the only time I've seen Sheik's speed be the reason he won instead of him losing because of her low damage.
Fuck that was fun. I'm sure both players really enjoyed themselves. Damn that riddles comeback on Game 3, amazing stuff.

Getting kicked STRAIGHT in the nuts at 19:57 woulda ended *my* goddamn stock, sheesh
15:41?is me or is void visibly shaking his cup was moving like he just had a soasm Sheik looks so stressful to plau
The whole matchup is explained in the first 5 seconds. Void uses a ton of inputs and carefully thought out moves to drag kazuya across stage for 70%. Then Kazuya hits Sheik 3 times and it’s even
Don't forget that kazuya's disadvantage is extremely bad, which justifies his damage
Sheik controls neutral for free and with very little effort compared to Kazuya. Funny how you ignore that.
@@EmblemLord I wasn't making an actual comment, just an offhand joke. I haven't been following the competitive meta for so long lmao
Heck yeah void gg. Scary set and riddles could’ve easily taken it in a lot of moments. It’s been a fun tourney to watch for sure
Best set of the tourney so far.
2:33 Did that down air just spike there? I’m not sure what that was
Yes. The move has a spiking hitbox but it's only one and only at the beginning of the move
@@ojutay8375 Wow I didn’t know that. I guess not that many people get to land that
@@KiravTM yeah. It's sorta like all the other stall and fall Down Air where they have a spike you almost never see it because it's impractical
If anyone tells you ultimate has no punish game, show them this set
Analysis:
Kazuya: close hitboxes for maximum damage, high learning curve, heavyweight, poor airspeed, only one projectile and a tilt-reflection, lagging moves, but others great out-of-shield options. bait and punish archtype. Can break a shield. Easy to punish after a move.
Sheik: close hitboxes for combo potential, high learning curve, lightweight, decent airspeed, two projectiles, negligible moves, good neutral (if played correctly). hit and run archtype. Can't break a shield. Hard to punish after a move.
Add some characteristics
Oh yeah sheik can't kill and kazuya can. But you already know XD.
