Takes like 15 seconds for it to even overshoot my own aircraft so I can at least see where it's going... It's not like the Nord, there's no proximity fuse. It keeps straightening it's flight path both vertically and horizontally making it even harder to steer. The enemy gets a giant ass MISSILE warning. And every single game is an uptier (even an I-153 Chaika can outrun this missile). Yeah.

I know those replays can be pretty janky but if I saw my missle phase through a plane like that I'd probably not play for a while tbh.

I've lost count at how many times i got gaijin'd and uninstalled the game only to install them again a while later.
But since my laptop is currently dying, maybe i can finally stop playing for good.

My fucking god, US 50 cal and cannon rounds phase through soviet planes in every singlee game.
Uninstalled and then manually cleared the rest of the files.

Looks like it's more like hit detection issue. Missile clearly went through aircraft.
Seems to be happening a lot since the last major update. I've watched about 90% of the Starstreak missiles I've fired since that update phase straight through planes without damaging them.
If I had to guess the hitbox is likely a single point since it's only intended to hit the ground or giant ships. In all of those clips, the top 1/3 or bottom 1/3 or side 1/3 would hit but the dead center didn;t
This missile is slower than my descend to the path of darkness.

that's honestly insane, even though it's practically impossible, the fact that you were able to get just a few kills is mindboggling to me. I can hardly kill tanks with bullpups. BTW you should try doing a vid on the huricane with 40 mils, it's surprisingly good in a dogfight as long as you don't get ganged up on and is amazing at intercepting bombers.

@@steelwasp9375 arcade is fun for some chaos with friends. No stakes and no one is left out waiting for the next match. It's just WW2 themed spaceships anyway.

What makes it even worse is that missile doesn't even have a camera so your just using your eyes from so far away.
But at least they'll never see it coming the missile only needs some music on it to make ir scarier/funnier, but great attempts that challenge seems horrendously hard but at least they can be trickshots!
I wonder if the sound mod that turns any missile motor sound into the "Better Call Saul" theme works with this one
they obviously see it coming as they actively try to dodge it, plus it shows the msl indicator like with any other missile (which is disappointing)

I bet gaijin just made the missle hitbox inaccurate cuz they didn't think anyone would use it as an air to air missle. Props for putting time and effort to actually get an air2air kill with that thing 😅

I don't think it's intended to be used against aircrafts.
I tested this missile and i think it has a range of 12.5 km, i can consistently kill a light tank in test drive at 8-10 km range, you can probably bring this to top tier and kill modern spaa while they can't do anything about you lol :p
At top tier you spawn in a plane and after 1 sec one sam is already coming at you.
Also this thing is so slow that when he reaches the target, your plane is already over the map where even ifv autocannons can shot at you
Can't the AA shoot the missile ? it's slow and big shouldn't be a big deal
@@GORANJOVIC631if they notice it, but that's far from a guarantee. Very high alt is usually a radar dead zone too so if you could theoretically space climb in this thing, it wouldn't be terribly difficult.
Harder part could be Mig-29s and F-16s to be honest
@@aldousfoxlyproblem on most maps you spawn within spaa range so going to space would be very hard unless they have 0 spaa while you do it

While doing science last night, my friend and I tested about everything with this missile from air to air, to air to ship and ground.
So it seems it has a damage model in which you can shoot it like any other bomb (good), a missile indicator doesn't seem to pop up in a real fight while shooting each other with it. I think that might just be on the end of the spectator camera. Might have to check again, really unsure. It's so slow any degree of climb will almost cause it to stall out slower than the bomber itself. And most importantly I think, launching it at any angle will cause the gyro to stabilize to that angle. Meaning if you launch it at a -10 angle the gyro will remember to reset not at 0 degrees but at that -10. So for attacking ships like in naval battles (if you're that insane to do so) launching from long distance at a -20 angle was prob my best strat or at literal sea level. Either or, get distance.

The first swedish heli has missiles that only go 85 m/s if I remember right, making them the slowest in the game.
5:24 the muisic here reminds me of that old game where you play as a Spartan figtiing roman zombies.
I think it has to do with altitude and the programming of the missile. Normally, when you start an aviation mission on the airfield, the aircrafts phase through each other and don't collide, because collisions are turned off. Once you're in the air, collisions are turned on. For this missile, its the opposite. Collisions appear to be tuned off in the air, but turn on when near or on the ground. That or the missile's hit box is really small.

Yeah thats a detection issue for sure but even still your amount of skill with it is amazing. My opinion I think you should try doing the same thing with the f4's Bullpup missiles

There should be a timed fuse that you can modify. I'm sure engineers irl back then could have figured out how to add a timed fuse to the missile, considering it was basic technology for other bombs and explosives.

i recommend whenever u launch the missile to hop in gunner mode. your already flying straight, why not use the cam while your at it.

G'day, Ohh I've personally been waiting for this video ever since the event started hah hah although it's already mentioned elsweyr that the Type 60 & RB53 Bantam exist as those are the slowest missiles in game.
Odd fact the Argentines during the Falklands war aboard the damage ARA Santa Fe fired a Bantam against a British helicopter, Unfortunately for them it missed as it's still an ATGM but fortunately they made it to land before scuttling there boat...
Anywho it makes sense they see the giant MSL warning in AF since the rocket fuel is burning during this time.
Doubt I'll try jousting with this missile but I'll likely down a couple with my AK-630 CIWS in NF aboard soviet corvettes...
