- Asia - Heat of the Moment
I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do
A look from you and I would fall from grace
And that would wipe the smile right from my face
Do you remember when we used to dance
And incidents arose from circumstance
One thing led to another we were young
And we would scream together songs unsung
It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what my heart meant
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
And now you find yourself in '82
The disco hot spots hold no charm for you
You can concern yourself with bigger things
You catch a pearl and ride the dragon's wings
'Cause it's the heat of the moment
The heat of the moment
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
And when your looks are gone and you're alone
How many nights you sit beside the phone
What were the things you wanted for yourself
Teenage ambitions you remember well
It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
It was the heat of the moment
The heat of the moment
The heat of the moment showed in your eyes
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment
Heat of the moment...
35 years ago 1982 this song was EVERYWHERE. It is heartbreaking how many good people are gone.
Let's just be happy Rocks still alive in some way, regardless of how people get here. Anyone from a younger generation who listens to this song, should be credited for their taste.
For Real..
RIP John! You guys are so amazing! One of those bands you can listen to the entire albums and love EVERY song! (Yes folks! Albums!!!😂)🌻💜😘🇺🇸
Graduated from Lemoore High School on 2-Jun of 1982.
And I won't be OLD until I get COLD--FOREVER!
I bought Asia's LP in 1982 and still have it. This song was meant to be play at full blast and everybody gets up and dances.
The 80’s were a time the younger generations will never know what they missed.
Four stellar musicians. That first Asia album was amazing! Rest In Peace John Wetton, thank you for the music!
I am totally shocked und deeply sad !One of my Heros in rock Music passed away ...Grewing up with the Music in Age of 14, he became one of my favorite singersand ASIA became my absolute favorite band. All the best for Family and friends.R.I.P., John. The smile has left MY eyes :o(
I'm 64 they were great in concert, love this song too. those 4 songs Boston sung in concert were probably the best ever ! Including Led Z
Some of us came here because we actually grew up with this song, and liked it, and it holds a lot of memories for us. :P Yes, some of us are old. Alas.
hello +593961399387
Nice gatekeeping...
not old, just redefining the new generation. Pepsi sucks.
Yep! And we are proud of it! :D Anna&Tinja :D
Old but thank god still alive
This guy has such an epic voice. And the guitar at the end is so unique and outright boss.
I've been a huge Asia fan since 2008. And I wish they did more.
Had just joined the Army in 1982. Got to my 1st duty station at Ft. Sill, OK. Saved up money, got a kick ass Sansui stereo, rented a mini fridge for beer, and ordered basic cable. MTV was on in my room 95% of the time.
"Now you find yourself in '82..."
Good gads... What a year that was! Indeed, what a year!
Nuff said!
I remember 1982 like it was yesterday. I was 11.
This song and this band kicks fucking ass. Asia forever.
My heart will never leave the 1980s.
@Dog Lover E I was 17 in 1990. I went through some prime years in the 80s. I still find relevance from it.
Neither will mine
I totaly know exactly what your talking about.
Vann Junkins but your face and body have left the 1980's
❤️🇮🇳❤️🇮🇳 AWOMON❤️🇮🇳❤️🇮🇳
Remembering staying up late watching Asia - Live at Budokan Dec. 1983, dear god that was 32 years ago...
RIP John ....... we all rode the dragons wing with you !!

I was born in '83. To me oldies are still the 50s/60s. Lol. Always will love the 80s!
Good for you man. Keep an open mind and open ears
I was 14 in 1982. This song was huge! Friday night videos, Night tracks and Night Flight
Funtimes indeed Jerry!

Rest in peace John.
The sound of my childhood.
rest in peace kenny
Oh man I remember when this came out- what a tune-what a band-what a time to be young!
Take me back to 1982.
Where has time gone?
Remember sitting in a Cinema and not having to worry about the rude idiot next to you with a cell phone?
Or the fucking terrible action movies made nowadays. They're all the damn same.
Todd Howard but I could go for a good Furious movie.
ThoughtTraveler I was 13 in 82'...Where did the time go ? feels like last year.
I don't know I'm 53 years old the 80s were my best years by far
ThoughtTraveler
A big AMEN to that!
(more technology to aggravate)
I miss the 80's...what a great time to be a teenager and experiencing all the things great tunes like this were all about!
Beautiful music from a beautiful man he truly will be missed but by no means he will never be forgotten a real talent if you agree give me a hoot and y'all have a great day and by all means God bless the eighties
I just knew now about the death of John Wetton, is a very sad day. He always will be in our hearts with is beautiful voice and is wonderful music. RIP John, The Smile as Left your Eyes.
Every true supernatural fan has this as a wakeup song !
this song and Only Time Will Tell came to mind when i watched The 40 year old Virgin with my friends. They had no clue who Asia was. I just blurted "It was the Heat of the Moment". A couple of people sitting next to us started laughing and replied "Well you know, Only Time will tell..." Good memories...
It seems that like every time I was at the Mesa roller rink or Ice Capades this song was on . Growing up in the 80's was awesome.
This is why the 80's rocked.
This song takes me back to when I was about 12..... still living in Nicaragua....and it was playing in a time when we were at the beach.. Good song
The summer of 82 with Dana, Sue and Jackie. They are all still here but we don't hang out much anymore. That was an awesome summer and I will never it. Jackie loved the way I sang to her. We heard this song on the rock block weekend on 102.1 every weekend that summer. I had the time of my life.
RIP John Wetton , Thanks for this .
The 70's/80's were to music what the Renaissance period was to artists.
Absolutely!
Excelente tema de los 80's !!!
Aún escuchándolo en 2019 con la misma energía !!!

Don't forget about his other great project Wetton-Manzanera
My name is Jamie, I would love to go back into a time machine in the heat of the moment of the 1980's. The 80's rule for ever.
Bring plenty of quarters to line up on the Pacman machine!
The 80's were the last great era for music. So much talent, such variety , and so many good songs.
I WANT A BROTHER LIKE DEAN TO WAKE ME UP, LISTENING TO ASIA, BOBBING HIS HEAD, POINTING AT ME, AND MOUTHING THE WORDS IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK???
Last of the Super Groups . Great band . " When your looks are gone and you're alone ... how many nights you sit beside the phone ..."
I'm pretty sure u2 an genesis would be mad at this statement
Did you forget the Power Station? Tony Thompson, Robert Palmer, Andy Taylor and John Taylor?
I remember dancing to this song when I was younger, but I learned that this song was on South Park and Supernatural and now I'm happy!😊😊
Awesome memories from a great era, I was stationed in Frankfort Germany and was enthralled with a woman from Ireland named Marie. She bought me this album to add to my collection. She was beautiful and charming. I wish I kept up with her. great music from a great era. peace out!!!!!
RIP KENNY !!!! :(
CincoDeManny kriden de
I remember dropping a quarter in the juke box back in 1985 and blasting this awesome tune
ELP brought me here. Thankfully, I love 80's music too! :D
...for one brief shining moment, this band was the biggest band on Earth...everything just fell into place: talent, songwriting, video capability (MTV started a year before), experience, part of the 2nd British Wave of Music in the 80s...
I still love this song!!!
AWESOME SONG!!!!!

Beautiful song, from a beautiful time!
I guess I'm old and am SHOWING how old I am, because I don't remember this from South Park, Supernatural, or 40 Year Old Virgin (none of which I've ever watched); I remember it from the 1980's. :D
I remember the Supernatural episode and it being on 40 year old virgin, but I also remember their album back in 1982? And hearing it for the first time and completely being blown away by how good it was.

RISE AND SHINE, SAMMY!!

I learned about this song by South Park. So Cool!
im here from just listening to the song and remembering it from years back.
Melhor epoca de minha vida!!!!
R.I.P. John...you made high school so much more enjoyable...there was always something good on the radio.
Asia is a classic compared to all the crap that is here today. We have siht music like rap/pop/metal garbage. Someone said that it is dated. This was when people actual wrote that we could understand and relate to. You listen to Knophler,Gilmour,Gabriel even Zep...So listen up !!!
Good take Gary! You are right!
Hey, You can't just dicriminate against whole genres of music like that. I am not well versed in rap or pop, but Metal has musicianship and lyrics that are way better than a lot of the "Classic" rock songs. Just because it is newer, does not mean that it is bad. It is people like you, who make the people who appreciate The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Asia, U2, etc.. look like biggotted slobs to the rest of humanity.
Sorry so much of today's music is blatant rip offs of so much of the earlier much. The relevance of today's hiphop, rap, metal are associated with violence and abusing woman, just hating. I'm married a have 2 boys(for you Isaac). I've worked in the music since 1968 so I have some background. Arts, PhD Philosophy(McGill,UCLA) all paid for on my own dime. Had a paper route when I was ten. Always remember, the rhetorical answer deems the lack of intelligence of the recipient, and often the frustration of the inquisitor.
wingsoverglades There is an endless supply of humans, there are a limited supply of human beings. There is a maximum desirable length for poems: "The unit of poetry must be fixed by the reader's capacity of attention, and ... the limits of a poem must accord with the limits of a single movement of intellectual apprehension and emotional exaltation." Think about it.
Metal was in its glory days when this song came out.. Led zeppelin did metal aswell. So you're kinda arguing with yourself..
Danny recently talked about this song in a Game Grumps video recently. Thanks for bringing me to a great song
2019, Brasil..😎
Early 80''s jam. A classic so many don't know about...
I LEGIT PLAY THIS EVERY TUESDAY
zhao wei same
Hear of the moment in supernatural ♥
Have a happy Tuesday!
Hey look, pig in a poke!
I was just a little kid in the '80s but was in love with the music then just as i am now, perhaps more so. Keep finding little gems i'd forgotten and it just keeps giving. What's really funny is that a lot of people discounted this era of music as glam crap. The lyrics, instrumentals, and overall musician-ship is amazing! Having been involved in music later on i developed a different ear than i had as a youngster and i still appreciate things more and more as i get older. The '70s and '80s were chock-full of solid-gold artists and songs. Nothing better has come since, hands down.
