Pilger without the slightest irony from Mr I. Know-Western-Propaganda described Putin's high popularity as proof of his worth.
Hersh describes Putin as a gentleman because he knows Putin was graceful after losing a bout against a female Japanese judo exponent. That's it. That's his take on Putin.
Oh, did he say Putin was a logical player?
      Stone is simply a sycophant.
All those hours of interviews and not only never presses this dictator, but actually discounted Putin's corruption stating he's met wealthy people and in his opinion Putin's clean.

Just to show how big Yuri Shevchuck is will give one example:
He visited on his own the Russian troops in Grozny just days after the ill-fated New Year's Eve assault. He did not spend time at their main base at Mozdok or Khankala but he wanted to be close to the frontlines and he managed to communicate with soldiers and officers from the Volgograd corps.
He spend between 2 weeks to a month in Chechnya so he can see for himself what is this war all about.
Later he did not forget his promise about supporting the troops and managed to sent a lot of lads to Germany for rehabilitation. He also supported them with getting new western metal limbs and wheelchairs as those made in Russia back in the 90s were totall dogshit.
Edit: if anyone is interested about his visit in Chechnya there are clips of his stay as he was recording everything even when soldiers have given him the stars of their fallen captain as remembrence and later he immortalize him in some verse he has created about him. Just check ДДТ/Chechnya in RUclips.

Thank you. I agree. It has been propagated into many Russian people's minds that patriotism = supporting your nation no matter what. While I think that it is more patriotic to point out the uncomfortable truth and wrongdoings and weak parts when it's due because people (and the society) only benefit from fixing the weak parts at the end and correcting wrongdoings. After all, it is regular people who suffer when those problems are not fixed 🤷🏼‍♀️ But the people in power are not interested in that. So they propagandize and clowd the thinking of masses.

We have the worlds biggest stick and cant agree on who to hit or why.
Personally I believe we should either discard the stick (massive massive military sending), or commit ourselves to a rules based global order without exceptions for our allies, OR discard the claim of “leading the free world”. And this is why art is important!
This is why art is one of the first things in civil society that gets suppressed right after courts and the media when oppression takes hold.
Real artists and good art are a form of pressure. Btw. this is a good way to separate real art from sell outs and 98% of state stabilising journalism from investigative journalism.
Good art is an invisible force driving civil society to a point of discourse.
It sacrifices itself out of pure will and indures the suffering from state power and society. Real artists are called perverse, sick etc. but this is just why we need these brave few.
Next time you look at an artist and shy away from disgust or hatred just stop for a minute and put all your ideological dogmas on the side. Ruling ideology is invisible for almost everyone and every rebellion against it will garner a harsh personal emotional response.
Art is the starting point and the freedom of artistic creativity and the resulting creation has to be defended at every moment. We don't know how we will look back at a moment 10 years ago even but we might appreciate the one guy at the table who just can't help him or herself to talk what we all think.

In Russia rulers govern through _Rule by Law_ instead of _Rule of Law_
_Rule by law_ refers to a situation where laws are used as a tool to control or manipulate society. It suggests that those in power can bend or manipulate laws to their advantage, without being held accountable. This approach often leads to abuse of power, discrimination, and a lack of transparency.
_Rule of law_ on the other hand, is a fundamental principle of modern governance that emphasizes the importance of impartial and consistent application of laws. It ensures that everyone, including those in power, is subject to the law. This concept is crucial for maintaining justice, order, and individual liberty.

This is despite the fact that being supportive of the police isn’t an inherently left and right wing position. Anyone who says they’re not much of a fan of a police has to explain how they’d maintain order in a society without some kind of group tasked - whether voluntarily or as a paying job - with maintaining the law and having a monopoly on violence, and which doesn’t lead to mob rule.

Damn, that's the most uncomfortable I've ever seen Vlad. He looks like he was caught stealing something and he's about to run out the door.

Keep up the good work! Grüsse aus der Schweiz!
